hotandbothered · 18/01/2007 14:13

We've got a fantastic butcher near us. Does McSweens haggis, mealy pud and lorne sausage...Not bad considering we're near the south coast!

expatinscotland · 18/01/2007 14:14

How about using 'yun' for 'one'?

Yes, that's a good indicator.

DH is so Scottish, he needs an interpreter when he speaks to anyone non-Scots.

zephyrcat · 18/01/2007 14:16

Not scottish but lived there for long enough and have spend many hours mourning a fried pizza supper

Kelly1978 · 18/01/2007 16:22

I can barely read that!

whoopsfallenoveragain · 18/01/2007 16:37

Zephyrcat - my boss will want me to bring him a haggis back so it shouldn't be a problem!
I tired the deep fried pizza once and wondered what the fuss was about!
I needed a translator with my team leader when we were up there I'm sure I agreed to things I shouldn't

sweetkitty · 18/01/2007 16:41

I used to live in Saltcoats too!!

expatinscotland · 18/01/2007 16:46

The deep fried pizza is even worse when slathered in that minging brown sauce.

I couldn't even tell what the hell it was when DH first bought one of those.

Vilest thing around.

And yes, my 3-year-old has eaten this . . . erm . . . thingy.

And loves it.

She clamours for 'sauce', as she calls it.

Pitiful.

EllieHsMum · 18/01/2007 16:47
