Ok, so I went to see The Hobbit. Really enjoyed it... but no bloody Star Trek trailer!!! Why why why? I was soooo looking forward to it!

Is it the case that the Star Trek trailer is only on at the iMax showings of The Hobbit? Still going to take DS1 to watch The Hobbit whether he particularly wants to or not

I thought "normal" screenings got a trailer and IMAX got the first 9 minutes.

According to Twitter, the new Star Trek trailer is being released at 8.30am Califonia time today - about 4.30pm ish for us

So is Benedict in the Hobbit film, or is he just going to turn up in the later ones?
Bit confused; I didn't think he was in this one but then read a tweet saying 'I didn't know BC was in this until I saw his name in the end credits.'

I still don't think I can sit through the film though, even for Benedict.

From my understanding The Necromancer features very briefly in this first film, hence the credit. His main role will be in parts 2 and 3.

Ah, I see. So definitely not worth going along, and just sleeping/eating popcorn in the between-Benedict bits then.

I am actually considering seeing whichever ones he's in as the dragon. He's such a great physical actor and I bet he does a terrific job. But can I sit through 2 x 3 hours of Hobbit boredom???

I'm looking forward to watching The Hobbit on Friday at the local cinema (original English version, so I get to hear Benedict!).

Watched Love Actually last night, and later fell asleep debating myself about who Benedict could replace. I could imagine him in practically every role, except maybe Alan Rickman's role, and that's only because of the character's age. Thoughts?

LadyClarice - definitely not worth it for a non-Hobbit-fan! The Necromancer appears for about 5 seconds as a figure in the shadows. You couldn't even tell it was BC!

I can't link to it and haven't watched it yet, but links are on Twitter. The video has been released via iTunes so probably isn't on You Tube just yet (12 mins after its release!)

Not sure when I'll get to the cinema with DS1 to see The Hobbit. Our local cinema is right next to a huge Tesco. I really don't think I'll be going anywhere near that this weekend!

Yes, I really feel for both of them. It's that kind of thing that starts slebs going around with security guards, not getting public transport or walking the streets any more, etc. I really hope it doesn't happen to Benedict.
