I was less than SIX FEET away from him too on Friday night due to my amazing seat right near the front and right where the athletes come out (it even had a "Getty Images" sticker on it, it was that good!) He smiled at me. I am not joking. I have the (blurry - cos he was so close and I had my zoom on!) photo!!

DH unimpressed. He was there too. Heck, I was closer to Oscar than DH as we had three children between us!

Gutted the photo is blurry, but I uploaded it to my profile so you can see :) What makes me laugh is all the women gamesmakers taking photos right behind him!!

We were just near the start - about the 10 meter mark.
The nose was amazing. I loved the shot putter too. She did the best lap of honor

Heh, you must have been! I couldn't believe the luck of my seat - it said "row 6" on the ticket but there were only two rows in front of us due to the way it curved. I could touch them as they walked past!

I also had to breastfeed 16 month DS in front of them all too as it was one of the few things that kept him quiet once he got sick of raisins..

It was a fabulous night. The shotputter was brilliant, you're right!

My auntie was there on Saturday for his 400m gold, two rows from the front right near the starting blocks. She has just posted some amazing close up photos on Facebook.

Sadly I only had one chance as he walked past (too close!) as the start for the 400m was down by the finish line and we were at the 100m start. So I have great photos of other athletes, just no great ones of Oscar. Your auntie was so lucky!!

Ironically we were down by the 400m start the night before.. (row 13!) when Oscar did the 100m. He cleared off fast because he didn't even get a medal, so I missed my chance then as I was concentrating on Mr. Peacock!
