Hadn't noticed the hands TBH! Was more the hair, the long legs and the bulge in his trousersGrin.

Have had another look. Hands=tick!

FrankelSaysRelax · 09/09/2012 22:20

If you like the hair, this is from the same photo shoot - its all in the latest Empire Magazine.

Good morning,

Sorry for being quiet, Frankel, it was a busy weekend with the family.

Got an e-mail from Amazon (UK) about their DVD boxset sale going on, and when I checked the link, irony was at it again "The Thick Of It" was listed first, followed immediately by "Sherlock". How odd. (This has since changed.) My dirty mind was at it again because all I could think of was, she must like it on top...--

I could watch this for hours.

I take it all back it is still there. Right here. Sleep deprivation is kicking my butt (got only about 4.5 hours last night and none of that was remotely BC-related. Pooh.)

holmessweetholmes · 10/09/2012 18:40

Oh dear. I should have stayed away from you lot! Having successfully weaned myself off the cumbersurfing for a couple of months, I fell off the wagon in style today. It started when I clicked on that 'post your dirty Sherlock secrets' link. Two and a half HOURS later, after numerous pictures and a brief foray into the disturbing world of Sherlock fanfic, I finally dragged myself away to tidy the bomb-site that is my house. Help!

NeedsAGreenCardForFantasyLand · 10/09/2012 20:20

Sorry 'bout that, HSH, my bad. Can I make it up to you with this? I swear, it's only one photo, but...to quote George Takei, Oh myyyyyy...

As for fanfic, have you read the RL fic over at CumberCougars (on Tumblr)? It's called A Weekend In New York. A woman meets Benedict in a hotel bar after she travels to New York to see the PBS Q&A, and LOTS of raunchy sex ensues. Not everyone's taste, to be sure (as for me, I can't quite picture him being that predatory), but is sure a nice way to kill an hour or three.

holmessweetholmes · 10/09/2012 20:45

Oh myyyyy indeed! Just checked out the Cumbercougars' weekend in NY too . Maybe today's overdose of BC will lead to some interesting dreams tonight...

LetUsPrey · 10/09/2012 22:45

Haven't had chance for much Cumbersurfing today. PC at work is crap and DH has been sitting next to me all night.

FrankelSaysRelax · 10/09/2012 22:56

I'll be honest, I find the BC FanFic a bit, well, weird. I get FanFic about characters, and indulged in plenty of Buffy FF reading in my yoof, but I find it strange that people would write like that about an actual person.

Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of similar scenarios in my head, but that is where they stay! How mortified would BC be if he saw it? Writing about an actual person in that way, I find it very odd.

Of course, that's my opinion. I don't expect others to necessarily agree Grin

LetUsPrey · 10/09/2012 23:22

Was going to add something similar Frankel but couldn't type much as DH kept glancing over. Not a big FanFic, er, fan myself but that just means I don't read it! Each to their own Smile. I have plenty of my own in my head too!

holmessweetholmes · 11/09/2012 08:03

Yes I'm inclined to agree about the RL fanfic now I've looked at it. And the Sherlock/John fanfics are not really my thing! Guess I shall have to rely on my own imagination... Funny that RL fanfic should mention Jamie Bamber though - I am currently re-watching BSG and was thinking that he's rather yum! I hadn't realised he was a Brit - is he really friends with BC, I wonder?

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 11/09/2012 08:55

I find the idea of all fanfic odd, to be honest, although I've never read any.

I agree with Frankel that some scenarios should stay in the imagination!

What's BSG and who's Jamie Bamber? [eejit]

holmessweetholmes · 11/09/2012 09:15

Ah sorry - I think in this case 'eejit' means non-geek! BSG is Battlestar Galactica. Jamie Bamber is an actor in it, who I had assumed was American, but who apparently is from Hammersmith. In that fanfic I read, he is mentioned in passing as a mate of BC's. I haven't seen him in anything else, but definitely like him in the sexy space pilot rôle (and uniform!)There is a photo-shoot somewhere with him and BC in it. I'll see if I can find it...

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 11/09/2012 09:17

Thanks!

holmessweetholmes · 11/09/2012 09:19

here

holmessweetholmes · 11/09/2012 09:22

And here in uniform!

holmessweetholmes · 11/09/2012 09:24

Damn, that last one didn't work. Try again... here

holmessweetholmes · 11/09/2012 09:38

Back to BC - I liked this about his rôles in the Simpsons. Glad they realised he is 'a completely irresistible person'!

FrankelSaysRelax · 11/09/2012 09:44

According to Twitter, Star Trek 2 has now been given an official title:

Star Trek Into Darkness

Hmmm, DarkBatch......

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 11/09/2012 11:08

Huzzah!

Apparently Benedict wasn't there. Just couldn't be arsed? Or has he gone off to the US again for filming on August Osage County? Anyone know?

FrankelSaysRelax · 11/09/2012 11:50

Hurrah indeed!

There are pictures of him at the Paralympic Closing Ceremony on Sunday night, so he was here till Monday morning at least. I would have thought, had he been available, he would have been there. I saw a photo of Louise Brealy and Sue Vertue at the Awards so there was Sherlockian representation Grin

LadyClariceCannockMonty · 11/09/2012 12:11

Yeah, I just wondered if he'd jetted out soon after the Paralympic ceremony. Apparently Rupert Graves collected the award on his behalf, which is a bit of a cheek if you ask me; IMO Louise Brealey is MUCH better than him in the show!

NeedsAGreenCardForFantasyLand · 11/09/2012 17:32

One last thing about the fanfic. I have to admit I do read some, although I found that some of it (and that includes the Weekend In New York one) does cross the line of good taste. (Switch out the names and you've got generic porn, which may or may not float your boat.)

One the one hand, I'm glad that some people feel inspired to elaborate on some characters and storylines, but the RL stuff... Like Frankel said, it would probably be weird if BC read some of the stuff that's out there. I know he commented on some of the Johnlock stuff after Martin Freeman pointed it out to him, and he claimed to be OK with it, but let's be honest, the RL stuff is just as weird in terms of 'He put his X in my Y and did Z'. The fanfic and fanart I've seen ALL depict the characters with their actors' features, mannerisms and whatnot. Strangely, I find a lot of the fan art creepier than the writing (at least the explict stuff). As someone who's trying her hand at fiction for the first time, it's very tempting to just wimp out and use a character who has already been established -- you name that person/figure and your reader fills in the blanks for you.

OK, back to my mundane Hausfrau grind (and BC ogling over on Tumblr). Oh to live a double-standard life...

LetUsPrey · 11/09/2012 19:27

I love WAYWB so much and they've outdone themselves with this guest victim appearance. I've just been giggling away to myself.Grin

Hahahaha

Some suit porn

Blimey indeed

FrankelSaysRelax · 11/09/2012 20:06

Hand porn for Prey

Have you heard that Steven Moffat has left Twitter (not sure if it's for good or temporary) due to trolls. I saw Louise Brealey had tweeted Amanda Abbington (Martin Freeman's wife) to ask if she was ok after the trolls rounded on her for defending Moffat and another actress who was getting stick.
