Good morning everyone. I thought I'd get the ball rolling with my week's offering. We've had news, of sorts, regarding my son's MRI scan. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has come up with.

another rant about breastfeeding

This time about the way the tabloids write about bfeeding

strawberry17 · 16/11/2011 07:32

SenseofEntitlement that's great. I've seen other magazine type blogs and I like them so I'll keep an eye on yours.
Jentlydoesit, I think your blog will be a very interesting read about something most of us probably don't think about, on Radio 2 yesterday they were talking to people whose parents had been to prison on the Jeremy Vine show. I have saved yours into my favourites but was wondering if you'll have any way for people to subscribe to your blog? understand if not because of the nature of what you're writing about etc

strawberry17 · 16/11/2011 07:34

Excellent article about media portrayal of breastfeeding MmeLindorGrin

Trills · 16/11/2011 08:14

:o at cafetiere cosies - very modern

SouthernandCross · 16/11/2011 09:52

My posting for [[http://mymumdom.com/2011/11/16/the-gallery-11-11-11/ The Gallery} about 11.11.11.

SouthernandCross · 16/11/2011 09:53

Trying again Hmm
My posting for The Gallery about 11.11.11.

PetiteRaleuse · 16/11/2011 10:26

I'm back from my flounce and my trip with a rant about England

MmeGuillotine · 16/11/2011 11:42

As may or may not be obvious, I am an unashamed goth and in today's post I write about my passionate love for Fields of the Nephilim.

SweetestThing · 16/11/2011 13:36

Another ripple in the cancer pool

MmeLindor. · 16/11/2011 13:40

Today, I am ranting about the justice system and abused women.

OutrageousFlavourLikeFreesias · 16/11/2011 14:35

Was anyone else slightly obsessed with the "What Katy Did" series when they were young?

If you were, you might fancy a look at its long out-of-print sequel "Clover". My review of it's here.

MmeGuillotine · 16/11/2011 14:45

I read Clover years ago and remember loving it! Those books were just amazing - I badly wanted to be Katy and remember feeling distinct relief that she married someone dashing unlike Jo in Little Women. mutters darkly about choosing Prof Bauer over Lovely Laurie

This is timely as I've just been given a Kindle to review and am filling it up with books! :D

overmydeadbody · 16/11/2011 16:17

Will you all just stop writing new blog posts for a while so I can catch up with all the amazing ones already posted here, or I'll have to miss some out which would be unfair!

overmydeadbody · 16/11/2011 16:23

and yes, I too was obsessed with the What Katie Did books

Trills · 16/11/2011 16:45

The What Katy Did books are all free from Amazon for Kindle - I didn't know there were any beyond the "What Katy..." ones.

JentlyDoesIt · 16/11/2011 17:24

Hi strawberry Smile I think you can register on my blog, then you can leave comments etc although I don't know of you can subscribe through there. I'll check with my IT support (the step dad) & get back to you!

notatschool · 16/11/2011 17:52

My first post on here! Nerve wracking Blush

Doug and Nancy Wilson set up a Christian school in the US based around the classical method of education, and are also prolific authors. I went to their family conference back in May, and have just typed up my notes on Nancy's seminar on raising boys.

Nancy Wilson on Mothers and Sons

OutrageousFlavourLikeFreesias · 16/11/2011 18:31

Oh, MmeGuillotine, I was very very VERY cross with Jo for not marrying Laurie as well. How could she? How could she turn him down? And why did he go and marry Amy instead?

(still cross about this after twenty years)

FlamingoBingo · 16/11/2011 19:25

Hello blogging friends. Sorry I haven't been around much - dealing with RL stuff still, but getting there now Smile

Just dipping in to wave and say I'm still reading.

MmeGuillotine · 16/11/2011 19:29

Outrageous - I know! I used to think that the moment you finally get over Jo not marrying Laurie is the moment you truly become an adult but seriously? NO. IT'S NOT RIGHT AND IT NEVER WILL BE.

To be honest, it's the fact he rebounded on the annoying Amy that bugs me more than anything. HOW COULD HE?!

JentlyDoesIt · 16/11/2011 20:27

Further to strawberry's question earlier, whilst you can't subscribe to the blog itself, you can follow me on twitter @convictswife or friend me on FB: Izzy Gil-tee. I link the new posts on there each time Smile

Spoonpaws · 16/11/2011 21:52

I've posted lots this week, since I'm taking part in NaBloPoMo. But here's one of them: Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf

ScatCatShoo · 17/11/2011 02:20

MmeLindor, loved your post on the justice system. I have some experience with such, not personally, but a close friend, so have directed her to your post. I am sure it will help her.

I also have a new post Grandma's Applesauce and Cocoa Cake with a Coffee Glaze

I also want to ask you all a question. Do you feel dispirited when you find out someone else doing similar to you, without much effort gets tons of pageviews and comments? I was reading an article (by a very bitter woman, but more on that some other time) about the competetiveness of bloggers (food bloggers in general) and how there could be no real community of bloggers.

I don't agree with her, as I find I've made some of my best friends via blogging, but what do you guys think? Are we all competing for the same slice of the cake, so to say?

PetiteRaleuse · 17/11/2011 08:27

Here is my rant for the day. I got very cross in the UK about being bossed around and told what to do and think. My rant about dumbing down

Still catching up on everyone's blogs
