Good morning everyone. I thought I'd get the ball rolling with my week's offering. We've had news, of sorts, regarding my son's MRI scan. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else has come up with.

I have two offerings from my NotAsAdvertised blog:

A word about your underwear madam... (Focus on your frillies)
And, rather frighteningly..
Boys safety threatened at school

A little light-hearted something for the week...

Hot-cot-tots and the frustration of not being understood

Hello everyone

Would anyone like to spend ten minutes of my day on the phone with me?

Is There Anybody There?

I am hoping that this week (for the first time) I'll have got the link right (first time)

how to tell if your child is pulling a sickie Grin

YoungDebbie · 14/11/2011 23:24

This one's from the heart - dedicated to my eight year old daughter Laura, to mark World Diabetes Day. Laura was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 3. For us every day is Diabetes Day. We live in hope that one day there will be a cure.

If you want the best for your child, as I do for mine, please read it and pass the message on....

Another Nice Mess for Laurel & Laura

Is anyone looking for an alternative Advent Calender?

fiddlerintheloft · 15/11/2011 10:32

My latest is about 'suffering for my art' - it's about the practicalities of having a long neck and playing the viola.

QueenMaeve - loved your sickies post.

Mme Lindor - a belated thank you for dropping in a link to my site last week, much appreciated!

Going to have a read of some of these other recent posts now.

Have a nice day all

Hello everyone!

Put up a post there, a bit of a light-hearted look at what happened when Jo Jingles came to toddler group today.

My latest ramblings. A response to Janet Street Porter saying that working from home made you bonkers:

MmeGuillotine · 15/11/2011 14:46

I work from home as a writer and researcher. I was already what my family endearingly term 'eccentric' which is why I find it impossible to work around other people - in my last job, which was within a Government department, I regularly reduced colleagues to tears and constructed an enormous barricade of files on my desk so that I wouldn't have to see the person who sat across the way...

Anyway.

I spent the maudlin days of my recent illness watching Lost in Austen, Marple and Love in a Cold Climate on repeat.

SenseofEntitlement · 15/11/2011 15:13

Not so much a new post, but a new blog (not fully ready yet, but will be applying to the mumsnet network - hope it is ok posting here, being a blogger already and all)

The Camel's Hump

Will be a group blog, with posts from regular contributors and guests. Still very much under construction, but what do you all think?

MmeGuillotine · 15/11/2011 17:14

An update on how my fourth novel is progressing despite my having massive writer's block now that an agent has asked to have a look at it. They follow me on Twitter as well as reading my blog so hopefully they'll read this post and see that I am actually working on it and not slacking off! ;)

strawberry17 · 15/11/2011 19:02

Looks like The Camel's Hump could be interesting, but won't you struggle to do two blogs? you must have bags of ideas?

JentlyDoesIt · 15/11/2011 19:14

Hi all,

I've just posted a blog about reading Jeffrey Archer's prison diaries and how they compare to DP's life at present.

Have been flicking through some of the other blogs and feel in the shadow of giants - you're all so talented!

SenseofEntitlement · 15/11/2011 20:06

Strawberry - I keep having ideas that wouldn't fit on Sense of Entitlement, so hopefully this will be a good outlet. Plus atm I have nine other people wanting to write for it too, so hopefully that is a good enough start. I'm still recruiting people though - the way I see it, the more people we have writing, the less likely it is that people will find themselves doing "filler" and that should hopefully keep the quality up.

I'm essentially looking at it as work experience - I have run fanzine style magazines with small teams before, but this will hopefully be a bit different. They were all excellent fun though, so fingers crossed this is the same!

Been making hobby horses out of socks and channelling bad 80s films for an Everything's Rosie
Watercress Oakley. The horse is bearing up well!
