Not sarcasm as such Maud. More mild envy at the sheer ingenuity of so many variations on a theme.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/11/2011 22:04

Yes, they certainly manage to stretch one programme idea out for years and years and years.

::Pauses briefly::

Yes indeed. The way she just kicks her leg in front of her face!

A demain.

TheSmallPrint · 07/11/2011 22:50

Spiro poor you and Miss Spiro Sad, what made them think she has that? I hope that the results come back negative. And don't worry about being a bad mum, we've all done worse things I am sure!!

DumSpiroSpero · 07/11/2011 23:04

Lots of men in uniform so far Spiro!!

I only have eyes for one man in uniform Vampy! Blush

Thanks all for your comments Smile. Miss S has always been a bit sensitive in the tummy dept - horrendous colic for a good 4 months that nothing touched at all, then at about 3 started complaining about tummy ache/sensitive if anything on (hence her living in leggings - can't tolerate anything with a structured waistband) - thought it might be an umbilical hernia but apparently not.

Had quite a long break from it but for the last 6 months or so have had virtually daily complaints of tummy ache, feeling sick, toilet issues (sorry TMI - and there aren't really issues she just seems to have a 'bee in her bonnet'). I'm inclined to think it's psychosomatic but whatever it is needs dealing with. Consultant wants to rule coeliac out more than anything as he's seen another little girls with similar symptoms/family background that did turn out to have it.

We're seeing him again next Wednesday so not long to wait anyway.

SupermassiveLBD · 07/11/2011 23:10

I guessed which man in uniform you meant, Spiro. How clever of me.

Poor little MissS and poor you, fingers crossed for Wednesday. if it's negative your mind will be at rest, though if it isn't, you'll know what you're dealing with

DumSpiroSpero · 07/11/2011 23:15

There are worse things to contend with.

She asked me what it meant, but once I'd confirmed she'd still be able to eat cheese and chocolate she was fine! Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 07/11/2011 23:16

I am supposed to be doing on-line food shopping, instead I'm flicking through SB stills - whoops!

TransylvanianVampiress · 07/11/2011 23:26

Spiro - I've had similar problems pretty much for as long as I can remember. But I thought it was just normal to find support tights/tight trousers/spandex underwear etc almost unbearably unwearable. I finally went to see GP about it a couple of years ago. Don't been tested for coeliacHmm but had the camera down throat thingy (horrid experience!) and the diagnosis came back as having a sensitive tummyHmmConfused. And something I'll have to learn to live with. Which I have for the past 36 years but not the magic cure I was hoping for! I do take gastric acid reducers in case excess acid is causing the constant nausea but I'm not convinced they work!

Anyway not sure why I'm telling you all this - other than to support Miss S and say it may well not be psychosomatic or of it is it's still very painful!!

Oh and I think may not be fussy. Give me a tall, handsome man in uniform and I take a second look!!BlushGrin

TransylvanianVampiress · 07/11/2011 23:28

Off to google celiac disease so I can self-diagnose myself via the Internet!! Confused

SupermassiveLBD · 07/11/2011 23:32

I have a second look, too Vampy. Just to see if he's the right one or not Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 07/11/2011 23:32

This is what the doc said - and she's lovely but it's awkward because I'm being fairly 'unsympathetic' in an attempt to play it down, but would hate to find out there was more to it.

Mr S and his family are all a bit inclined to various minor tummy issues so it may just be that. Apparently there are glands in our stomachs like the ones in the neck to fight infection and when they are working hard (most of the time with all the germs kids are exposed to) it can cause mild pains/discomfort.

TBH the other thing I'm wondering as it's just flared up again fairly recently, and given her size and build, is if we're gearing up for scarily early puberty.

She's had a few fainting episodes and there's a couple of other things that ring bells which is a bit of a concern but hey ho, that's motherhood Confused!

SupermassiveLBD · 07/11/2011 23:44

Non-stop fun, that's for sure. I do hope you get it sorted though. I hate it when the SBs are off-colour -- apart from just not having had a wash for ages, that is.

DumSpiroSpero · 07/11/2011 23:46

Different problems with boys eh Massive?! Grin

Miss S managed to squeeze in a bath, hair wash, blow-dry and mani-pedi before bed this evening!

SupermassiveLBD · 07/11/2011 23:54

Severe water allergy, that's their problem.Grin
