Ah yes. We didn't do much faffing around with the, ahem, family planning. I will leave the readership to speculate as to why not. Tee hee.

Hello all

Flamingo, I enjoyed your guest blogger. There are so many taboos when it comes to, well parenting, but breastfeeding especially.

Trills I love those books. We used to sneak into my mum's room when we were little to read the caveman sex bits.

I actually left the house alone this weekend.

wannaBe · 24/10/2011 21:45

How many of you have adverts on your blogs?

I keep getting a pop-up saying I can "monetise" my blog and earn cash for doing so (not that I'm sure I necessarily get enough hits to do so but time...) but I'm torn between doing that and whether ads would put people off reading. Afaik they're google ads so less intrusive than some of the mn banner ones...

DeliriousTante · 24/10/2011 21:50

I don't wannabe. Not sure how I feel about them really. I don't like blogs that are heaving with ads.

FlamingoBingo · 24/10/2011 21:52

Hi Gardening mum - off to read your post in a minute :)

Wannabe - I won't ever have ads on my site, except the odd random ones that wordpress puts on there, until I can stop being stingy enough to pay for adblock.

MmeGuillotine · 24/10/2011 22:58

It doesn't put me off reading a blog - I always add blogs that I think I might like to Google Reader so I don't see stuff like adverts etc anyway. :)

When I click through to a blog via a link on here or something, I don't instantly click away if there's adverts. I'm not there for the decor. :)

SouthernandCross · 24/10/2011 22:59

I've had some adds on my site but made nothing from them. As far as I'm concerned you are better to do a campaign or a sponsored post once or twice a month and get Some £££ that way.

ScatCatShoo · 25/10/2011 05:20

Righty - I have an adults only dessert on my blog tonight, and lord knows I needed it :)

Chocolate Orange Mousse with Grand Marnier

Off to go and snoop read your blogs now!

ScatCatShoo · 25/10/2011 05:22

Wannabe - Google pays absolute peanuts for ads. I would keep the blog ad free until you have a reasonable amount of hits, then monetise via something like BlogHer network or Amazon, rather than Google. That's what I am doing at the moment.

ScaredTEECat · 25/10/2011 07:32

I won't put ads on my personal site. I may do some on my pro site once my redesign is done!

purplemom · 25/10/2011 07:41

I thought I would have a go at a blogging prompt .... www.purplemum.com/2011/10/hopes-dreams-2/

PetiteRaleuse · 25/10/2011 09:35

Morning. More politics from me and some select quotes from Simon Heffer, the columnist I hate even more than Liz Jones but not quite as much as Little john here
