WARNING

Don't forget your hard hat, hi-viz gear and parachute. We lost a careless vice-principal this way only last year.

He does tend to bring the best worst out in you both!!Grin. I always sometimes find it hilarious unreadable!Grin

LadyDamerel · 15/11/2011 22:01

You should read what we don't post in here, for fear of Maud and poor MrT spontaneously combusting - and not in the good way usually effected by Gizzy Grin.

TransylvanianVampiress · 15/11/2011 22:04

Ooh have you a secret other place where you post stuff like that?Wink

I'm off to bed - I'm exhausted. Sleep well all.

Spiro I hope you don't have another nightmare about a poking Gladioli! WinkGrin

Vampy - The joy of MN is that one can rant in a way that doesn't test one's partner's or RL friends' patience! I do agree that everyone needs their down time, which is why I grit my teeth when The Bloke leaves me alone for large chunks of a Saturday or Sunday as he goes to football, and I can see that the sort of work that the Colonel does carries particular pressures and stresses. But - based on many years' working in another environment where people were often working very long hours and/or living away during the week - I think it can be very damaging to a relationship if the wife (and it usually is the wife) gets too used to managing on her own. The divorce rate there was shocking and all the senior men (only slight exaggeration) were on their second or third wife, I suspect (to some extent) because the first wives realised that they were already doing very well at raising their children single-handed and didn't need a husband they seldom saw. I am not saying that this is your and the Colonel's situation, but trying to explain why I think you need that talk with the Colonel.

Anyway, on to lighter things. I keep seeing the trailers for Children in Need, so inevitably .

SupermassiveLBD · 15/11/2011 22:07

That sort of gladiolus sounds very painful, Vampy. Have a very good night, and hope you feel much better, in the morning.

I think what LadyD means, Vampy, is that she has thoughts that are too filthy to print.

::faints at the thought::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/11/2011 22:11

Oops, sorry, always one post behind. Good night Vampy!

SupermassiveLBD · 15/11/2011 22:14

I don't expect Children in Need will ever top that little episode, Maudie. We used to get it on the international Beeb, and could phone in donations too, but for some reason they don't show it, any more.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/11/2011 22:17

No, probably not, although I do also chortle at the newsreaders do a big musical number bits too. .

SupermassiveLBD · 15/11/2011 22:23

Do they still do that, Maud? it was always a good bit.

TransylvanianVampiress · 15/11/2011 22:28

I think the newsreaders are doing a Strictly number this year Maud! Should be interesting.

Last year DD and I and some friends did a sponsored run. Between the 4 girls they raised around £850. This year DD has had a mini cake sale and raised £15. Seems so little but it's all money!!

Maud you are so right about long hours/working away being hard on a relationship. I think that's whT people always think us military wives are so strong but truth is we have the support of each other generally. Something I'm really missing here - but we moved here as I knew weekly commuting was not good for us! No idea how people do it for years and years but suppose everyone has to do what works best for them!Smile

LadyDamerel · 15/11/2011 22:28

He'll never make you as happy as I could. ::sniff::

::necks evening primrose oil straight from the bottle::

Maybe there'll be a Hobbit segment this year

::eternal optimist::

::wanders back to Cloud LaLa Cuckoo Land::

SupermassiveLBD · 15/11/2011 22:32

Ah, Gizzy, but she'll never make you as happy as we could Smile

LadyDamerel · 15/11/2011 22:37

Never, Massive. Never.

We could make him the knackeredest happiest man in Nottamun.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/11/2011 22:39

Yes they do, Massive, but last year the laydees seem to have dumped the chaps and .

SupermassiveLBD · 15/11/2011 22:40

Indeed, LadyD. No feet would be more well-rubbed. Grin

LadyDamerel · 15/11/2011 22:42

Well, if you're happy to have his feet then I shall consider it my duty to ensure that other, more northerly areas are tended to with equal care and attention...

TransylvanianVampiress · 15/11/2011 22:42

::looks back:: tut tut Massive. His feet are mine - my life's work you see, to rub feet - his in particular!Grin

TransylvanianVampiress · 15/11/2011 22:43

In fact I'll grab his hands too for some well-deserved relaxation!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/11/2011 22:44

I thought you had gone to bed, Vampy. Or did mention of Guy's pedal extremities lure you back to the very common room?

TransylvanianVampiress · 15/11/2011 22:44

Knight all. Luff you. Smile

TransylvanianVampiress · 15/11/2011 22:45

Had done and am Maud but the colonel is reading do I'm stalking as he likes to call it!! Off sleeping now! Promise!!Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 15/11/2011 22:45

Yeah, but we know you luff JP more! ::wink::

SupermassiveLBD · 15/11/2011 22:46

Vampy, you misundertand. Of course I did not wish to steal his feet from you. Naturally they belong to you, as ever.
