I think I'd send a cat down first. A cat with a video recorder strapped to its neck.

I would make sure I had my glasses, a toothbrush, a change of scants, my keys and my phone first. And I would bring the guinea pigs in from their run in the garden and leave a note for dh.

But yes, I would definitely go in.

We are moving and we have two secret cupboards and a priest hole. I fought DH tooth and nail about not telling the estate agent. It's so lovely when you find them for yourself (unless of course you find them by smell because something has crept into them to die). Which reminds me, must pack the stuff that's in them so I don't forget it.

I will never live in the type of home that would have such a thing, so it's a moot point for me.

How can you leave a house that has a priest hole? If I had a house with a priest hole I'd stay there forever.

For a time I was an estate agent (I know, I know) and when showing one couple around a house I was in the master bedroom pointing out the marvellous built in wardrobes and when I opened one it was only a bloody tunnel. I exclaimed "oh my God, look, a secret passageway, how exciting!" and skipped off down it. It ended in a big gym above the garage but my word it was exciting! God knows what they thought of my skills as an agent but they did buy the house!
