HAHAHAHA ONLY JOKING!!

TA-DA!!!! I'M FINALLY HERE after much moaning on Twitter and a lost application, Mumsnet have fast-tracked my application and I'm now officially a "Mumsnet Blogger". What have I let myself in for??

Some of you may already know me, in which case "Hi" - make yourselves known.
Some of you may never have heard of me, in which case "Hi" - where the frig have you been for the past two years?
Some of you may know me from a previous life where I had a different username, in which case "Hi" - and sssshhhh we don't talk about that any more.
Some of you may know me in real life, in which case "Hi" - isn't it time you rang me and we arranged a coffee date?
Some of you have probably clicked off by now and though "weirdo", in which case "Bye".

I have been described as Tigger, Quirky and The Queen of Rants. I blog at Typecast

"TA-DA!!!! I'M FINALLY HERE"

Really? Would you walk into the local pub and say that? Or would you raise an eyebrow Hmm at someone who did? I'd do the latter because I would find the former extremely rude...

I didn't see any attacks on you personally. But I did see several comments (i.e. not just Tee's comments) about the way you have announced yourself, as if we should all be desperately pleased to see you here.

Perhaps you need to re-read your OP again to get what we're on about?

That aside, welcome (back?) to Mumsnet!

Erm, yes, I would walk into my local pub and say "Ta-da, I'm finally here" because I'm usually late to meet friends.

If this is supposed to be a baptism of fire then I intend to be burnt at the stake and survive. I always have done!

I personally see nothing wrong with my OP. But then I wouldn't, would I? I can take "brutal honesty" but I don't accept snide comments and give as good as I get. I don't play the "newbie" card very well. I've done forums, left forums, returned to forums and survived pretty well in the past.

I actually have to leave this for a while now but I'll stoke the embers a little and return later. TTFN

Ah, ok. Personality clash - I wouldn't be friends with particularly impressed wth someone who did that. I shall leave you to your thread

Why 'stoke the embers'?

Don't you just love the strike out facility on here? It means that awfully bitter and unfriendly comments can be assumed to be jokey. Was there really any need for that, Purplepidjin?

No one is asking you to 'play the newbie card' and your response right there is also full of the same attitude that got my back up.

Your implication that you are the only one in the universe who has ever blogged/been on a forum/what have you.

I've been using the internet for about 20 years. My first computer had a tape drive.

Does that make me special in some way?!?!

Hi Typecast, I think you have been given a really nasty welcome - what rude people there are in here. Patronising, does no-one recognise irony any more??

Irony? Where?

Do you know the definition of irony, Nenn? Because I do and none of that was ironic.

Oh for goodness sakes, if anything I read Typecast's introduction as meaning she was impressed to finally get herself onto the great Mumsnet, not that she thought she was something to aspire to.

Well, you're the only one who read it that way.

Well this thread is worthy of a blogger's time and attention, isn't it? Grin

Typecast, welcome to MN (again). If you were here for any length of time before, this thread will remind you of the unwritten rules of MN that you may have temporarily forgotten.

You certainly have a way with words, don't you? Wink

Yeah, sorry Nenn, but there's a lot of drama llama attention whoring in the OP and that's guaranteed to raise hackles!

Thanks for the extra welcomes.

I have reported the "I can call you a cunt" post - even though it was crossed out.

Such a lovely bunch. I feel a blog post coming on. Prior warning - that's what that is. Should boost my stats no end.

Hi Typecast, I too know who you are ! I really like reading your blog, very interesting. I am shocked and quite disgusted by some comments on here though, what is this? 'you must not ever make an entrance or say why you are here' 8) as 'some' members see it as bigging yourself up !

Hi Typecast, I've enjoyed your blog loads. Am shocked by the hostile reception you've got, but clearly some people are threatened by you. How dare you be confident and assertive, imho you must bow and scrape to some people before being deigned worthy. There is more than a whiff of sour grapes around. Keep posting please!
