I went just after a huge snowfall so the melt water had the waterfalls really flowing, apparently it's normally a disappointing trickle. Perhaps we could have an academy trip to Bilbao then Maud and improve our architectural education together? I am sure the vice chancellor would approve.

I've been to the Guggenheim in Venice and that was fabulous. though we were a bit merry and took the piss out of most of it

Love Kylie here too - it was MissTwigs' first concert as I saw her when I was pg. She kicked happily away throughout most of it - I like to think she was dancing :)

TheSmallPrint · 23/07/2011 20:47

Twigs you were brave going to a concert while pregnant. I don't think my ankles would have coped.

Academy trip to Bilbao? What a lovely idea assuming you're not Kevin, Perry or a homicidal maniac or all three.

The Girl went to several concerts in utero, ranging from Maddy Prior to Cosi Fan Tutte. I took very seriously the warning from a colleague that my cultural life was about to be interrupted and so I needed to stock up on cultural experiences!

LadyDamerel · 23/07/2011 20:50

Geraldine: "There's been a bit of a hiccup. Well, more like a giant burp with a little bit of sick in it." ROFL.

(Yes, that is the level of my sense of humour, no point trying to maintain an air of culture any more)

PassTheTwiglets · 23/07/2011 20:52

Yeah but it's Kylie so it had to be done :) I was a bit worried about the noise levels but then she coped alright with a v.v.v.v. loud performance of the "blow winds and crack your cheeks" * speech from King Lear a few weeks earlier so I decided she'd be ok.

Maud, do you really think about travelling for a year or is it a castle in the air thing? How wonderful if you could. I wanted to live in Venice for a year but got shot down quicker than a very quick thing and always feel a bit sad about it.

  • funniest typo ever - I originally typed "blow winds and cack your cheeks" :o

Being the lightweight I am, I can barely keep my eyes open so I'm going to hit the pillows. Good night my lovelies.

Night, Smally! Sweet dReAms.

LadyDamerel · 23/07/2011 21:24

Hullo LadyV, Night Small!

LadyVenetia · 23/07/2011 21:28

Night night Small,

Sorry I haven't been dropping in so much - but have been very busy with training for my swim (next week now) and work and so on........

But I am so looking forward to this meet up ....

PassTheTwiglets · 23/07/2011 21:29

LadyV, CA is showing at the Empire in Leics. Sq. - shall we go for this one, do you reckon? Booking not open yet though, obvs...

LadyVenetia · 23/07/2011 21:31

Empire Leicester Square sounds great - but is it 2D or 3D?

PassTheTwiglets · 23/07/2011 21:32

It's in both...

Have been meaning to ask you about your swim - is it just the swim part you're doing, or are you doing the whole triathlon?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2011 21:33

Nah, it's just a pipe dream, Twigs. We're too cemented here but it's a nice fantasy and then we can debate at length whether it would be a worldwide or just a European tour ...

I'm not coming to the meet-up, sadly, but it seems to be that Leicester Square would be a good choice, because it would be handy for LadyDamerel (and anyone else) to pitch their bivouac there.

LadyDamerel · 23/07/2011 21:35

According to the review on Twitter, the 3D only really works for the explosion bits so not sure if it's worth the extra £££££. Didn't someone also say 3D gave them a headache? But I'm happy to go along with whatever decision is made.

LadyVenetia · 23/07/2011 21:36

But we don't know yet (I presume) whether the main auditorium in the Empire will be showing it in 2D or 3D at the time we are likely to be there...?

LadyDamerel · 23/07/2011 21:36

I'll be well practised by then, Maud. I'm currently preparing for my stake out of the Odeon in Liverpool One later this week....

LadyVenetia · 23/07/2011 21:37

Screen 1 at the Empire also has a fantastic sound system.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2011 21:38

Is it only me or is the 3D often a bit blurred? I went cross-eyed during Avatar.

::Needs new lorgnette emoticon::

LadyVenetia · 23/07/2011 21:38

So sorry you are not coming, Maud.

LadyDamerel · 23/07/2011 21:40

Oh Maud, come! G'wan, you know you want to. I'll make you a sugarpaste MrT.... ::tempts::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2011 21:41

Later this week? Hope you've stocked up with essential supplies.
