Yes, poor sad girl. I was just listening , which I first encountered on Strictly.

LadyDamerel · 23/07/2011 18:51

Sadly, it was only a matter of when, not if, it was going to happen for her wasn't it? Poor girl and her poor family.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2011 18:52

I guess so, but I always hoped that somehow it would all come good for her. Poor girl. Her parents must be distraught.

LadyDamerel · 23/07/2011 18:53

To be fair, Maud. Intellectual isn't a word that is commonly used with reference to me Grin.

(I bet Spiro has the same thoughts though, her mind's even further in the gutter than mine Grin)

DumSpiroSpero · 23/07/2011 18:53

I have to admit to not being a fan of Harry's jumpers. TBH I'm not a fan of knitwear generally, on me or on blokes.

DumSpiroSpero · 23/07/2011 18:55

AW news, as you say, seemed pretty much inevitable.

Sad and frightening that someone with so much talent going for them can feel so hopeless.

LadyDamerel · 23/07/2011 18:55

And yes, I think most people hoped she'd recover but she clearly had major demons to fight. The thought of what her parents must have lived through for the last few years is horrendous.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2011 19:05

Amy singing (tweeted by Amanda Vickery, who is well worth following, je pense).

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2011 19:17

Of course, Maud, says Mr Thornton

TheSmallPrint · 23/07/2011 19:48

Lego..... Land.....

TheSmallPrint · 23/07/2011 19:51

thank you Maud. I'm shattered and now bankrupt.

TheSmallPrint · 23/07/2011 19:52

We heard the news about AW on the way back. What a tragic waste of life and such a talented one. So sad.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2011 19:58

So, is the first Saturday of the school holidays possibly not the best time to go to Legoland, then? Perhaps your financial advisor can help you with a recovery plan for your poor shattered bank balance.

LadyDamerel · 23/07/2011 19:59

Is there a good day to go to Legoland?

TheSmallPrint · 23/07/2011 20:05

It's always busy that wasn't the issue, it's pushing Smallboy minor around in a buggy (don't ask) as it's all hills fgs! I am exhausted. I think a chat with my financial advisor would be an excellent idea to revive my flagging spirits to assist with getting the accounts in order.

I'm too timid to find out!

For UK viewers, Waldemar Januszczak is currently on Beeb Two talking about dear, dear Claude.

TheSmallPrint · 23/07/2011 20:18

I saw that Maud, I my admit to doing a quick check to see whether it was the version that I might care to watch. I am watching BBC4 if Walls could Talk. I really like this programme.

I noticed in the Lego shop that amongst the usual Star Wars and Harry Potter Lego they have architectural Lego including the Guggenheim in NY, I was sooo tempted. Grin

LadyDamerel · 23/07/2011 20:22

I'm watching a repeat of VoD (with Kylie instead of Harry) I recorded earlier in the week.

::watches as intellectual level of thread drop by 10,000 points::

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2011 20:26

Guggenheim Lego? Wow! I was just going to joke about whether there was Falling Water Lego and here it is.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2011 20:27

And fear not, LadyDamerel. .

TheSmallPrint · 23/07/2011 20:29

Fabulous!! I have been there you know, it was wonderful. Also been to the Guggenheim NY but would love to go Bilbao and see the Gehry one. Mr Small has been and I am very Envy.

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2011 20:33

You have been? I am in awe. Is Mr Small also an artichoke? I haven't been to Bilbao since the Gehry one was built. I want to take a year off to bum around the world expand my horizons and expose The Child to great art.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 23/07/2011 20:36

This is wonderful. We have Waldemar with a shovel and a torch, demonstrating why the Impressionists were correct to show shadows on snow as purple and other colours.
