I am brain-dead tonight so this is rubbish - just a place-holder. Please do something else if you can think of a decent one!

So did you physically edit your wedding music then?

PassTheTwiglets · 13/07/2011 18:19

Yup! The music I wanted was only about 15 seconds long and there was speech at the end so I had to edit out the speech and put it on a loop so that it gave me long enough to walk down the aisle, otherwise I'd have had to sprint :)

I never know how anyone has the courage to actually do, y'know, talking, on a radio show you are so brave to have done that! (and the shcool DJing too!)

Am getting all excited here, as am planning our London sojourn with the kids. I have planned it almost down to the minute and am mainly excited about mealtimes :) I have one lunch sport left to fill - what is Wagamama's like these days? I went once ages ago but can't really remember it...

Oh, Maxwell's is booked for 12.30pm on the 4th!

I don't know what Wagamama's is like, but have you looked at/been to Giraffe. I took DD to the Brighton one a few weeks ago and was very impressed. The staff were very good with kids which is a big bonus when you're eating out with little ones, isn't it?

DumSpiroSpero · 13/07/2011 20:19

Re presenting on hospital radio - it was an amazing experience and loads of fun. I fell in to it as a lot of my mates went on extended post GCSE holidays or were tied up with their first boyfriends and it was something to get me out of the house.

TBH that summer really changed me and gave me a sense of confidence that has lasted all my life so far - I'd recommend it to anyone. I was very much the quiet, boffin-type prior to doing it. Would like to go back to it at some point (or the real thing - one of the guys that ran HR now runs our local radio station - might have to hunt him down on t'internet!). A couple of other guys I worked with have also gone on to have successful presenting careers.

As for the school disco - I'm hoping to do another one for Christmas and have planned and entire alter-ego and costume and lots of props for next time! Grin

TheSmallPrint · 13/07/2011 20:41

Evening, sounds like you have a new career planned out Spiro Grin.

Just had SmallBoy Majors report home. I am a very proud Mum. Smile

DumSpiroSpero · 13/07/2011 20:46

Ah, bless - go on - show off a bit, what did it say?

SupermassiveLBD · 13/07/2011 20:52

Oh, how great, Small. Do tell!

TheSmallPrint · 13/07/2011 20:56

Just that he is very good at lots of things and a well mannered and polite boy. Got excellent SAT marks too. I think he saves his cheek and laziness for me! Grin. On the negative side, his teacher did say that he only did as much work as he feels you will be content with but is capable of much more. I might take that as a positive though, if he can achieve those marks being half arsed then, in theory, he's a genius in the making! Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 13/07/2011 21:02

Great news - I had a lovely parents evening last week - the inner grin lasts for days doesn't it!

SupermassiveLBD · 13/07/2011 21:06

You must be thrilled, Small! He sounds a little wonder. Give him a hug or a manly handshake, whichever he's into at present, from his Aunty Massive.

I can remember my mum saying that polite and well-mannered outside and a pain at home is better than than vice versa. I bet you can't guess who she was talking about

SupermassiveLBD · 13/07/2011 21:09

The SBs are very well-mannered and polite in all circumstances -- for a pair of hyperactive chimps

LadyDamerel · 13/07/2011 21:10

That's fab Small Smile. LordD had similar reports re. minimum work he could get away with to succeed and is now very successful in his chosen field - I think it's an excellent trait/skill to have.

DumSpiroSpero · 13/07/2011 21:11

polite and well-mannered outside and a pain at home

Have you met my DD, Massive?!!

LadyDamerel · 13/07/2011 21:15

Or any of my 3.......Grin

TheSmallPrint · 13/07/2011 21:16

Thank you ladies, yes Spiro I feel really pleased for him, I was a bit concerned for a while because I know how he can 'lack focus' but I have done him a disservice. And well done to your DD too. Smile

Massive you're mum had a good point!

Lady D, that gives me hope!! Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 13/07/2011 21:17

But my mum was right though, wasn't she? Wouldn't it be awful if everyone thought your DCs were poisonous brats?

SupermassiveLBD · 13/07/2011 21:18

x-posted there, Small.

TheSmallPrint · 13/07/2011 21:18

Yes Massive

DumSpiroSpero · 13/07/2011 21:23

Have you found out what teacher he'll have next year yet and if he's with the same children?

TheSmallPrint · 13/07/2011 21:26

He's in a different school completely Spiro so def not the same teacher. He is very excited about his new school though which is good.

LadyDamerel · 13/07/2011 21:30

Mmm, I can think of several children who are horrendous in public, I dread to think what they are like at home.

Fortunately, mine seem to be of the 'nice in public, horrid at home' variety.

Our school is only little so the classes stay the same for the whole 7 years, bar the odd incomer or leaver. I do occasionally wish for more classes, just to get MasterD1 away from a couple of real horrors but so far the classes are working for the MiniDamerels.

DumSpiroSpero · 13/07/2011 21:31

You must have first, middle and high school then? We just have primary and secondary so DD will be where she is until she's 11, then go to the local 'academy' (God forbid) or the girls school in town.

DumSpiroSpero · 13/07/2011 21:33

My DD was in the same class for R and Yr1, but they are mixing them up for Yr 2. She is with her best friend so she's happy, and has the same teacher as this year (so I'm happy)!

TheSmallPrint · 13/07/2011 21:46

That's right Spiro, quite common round these here parts although I think the trend is towards Primary and then Secondary. Although its a separate school they are linked and they are moving th classes up exactly as they are now.

So, when are we going to see Recognise out on our shelves?

DumSpiroSpero · 13/07/2011 21:50

Don't know about Recognise - the suspense is killing me!

It was mostly first, middle and high when I was at school - I quite liked it that way tbh.
