Hi Twigs, glad the party was good and yes, I'd love to see a pick of your HJ lookalike too!!

BtW if you are still interested I came across a Guy as a vampire fic. However I haven't read it myself.

SupermassiveLBD · 29/04/2011 19:54

Guy as a vampire, eh? As if the poor man hadn't got troubles enough! Grin

Twigs, Grin too at your Hugh Fakeman's fashion statement. Really and truly?

DumSpiroSpero · 29/04/2011 20:16

Hope all the celebrations went off ok. I am shattered, even though I don't feel as though I actually did much.

I quite liked the dress - it was much as I expected tbh. She looked beautiful but I thought it lacked the wow factor a bit. I want to know what Harry said to Wills as she wad walking down the aisle - it looked v. cheeky Grin!

Talking of Hugh Fakeman, I'm currently watching the Wolverine origin movie - nice body! Grin

I thought the dress was great - much nicer than any others I have seen at Royal Weddings - very 40s retro in look I thought.

TheSmallPrint · 29/04/2011 20:33

I think it was very understated and elegant, just right for a future queen. Her sisters dress was gorgeous and very brave - you really need a fantastic figure to carry that off, especially with 2 billion people judging watching. She did carry it off beautifully. How much do they look a like?!

Anyway what I enjoyed most was just the pomp and ceremony, london looked fantastic and the processions stunning - no one does it quite like the British royal familiy (and no Im not Spiros MIL Grin).

SupermassiveLBD · 29/04/2011 20:40

I was wondering if Spiro actually saw her MIL on screen as the cortege went past.

What did people think of the decor in the Abbey, the trees instead of flowers? I was amazed how light it was inside, I always thought it was very dark and sombre in there.

LadyVenetia · 29/04/2011 20:47

I walk past Westminster Abbey most days going to work (I work around the corner from there) but have never once thought of going in. One day...

TheSmallPrint · 29/04/2011 20:49

Talking of understatements, Lady V - nice body. I think you mean damn fine figure of a man!!!! Grin

TheSmallPrint · 29/04/2011 20:54

Yes trees are a strange addition to the abbey, quite interesting though. I loved the camera shot from the heavens looking down on the bride and groom at the altar - it looked amazing.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/04/2011 21:08

Whilst I'm not a fan of the Royals for their own sake, I totally agree that no-one does the ceremony & tradition like us. I do feel very proud when watching the military aspect of this kind of thing, and I will willing stand & join in with the national anthem on Remembrance day as a mark of respect to those who fought & believed in what they were doing for the sake of the king/queen.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/04/2011 21:11

My first instinct was that the trees were a weird idea, but I can see why they went that way & they looked pretty good. I loved her bouquet - was it lily of the valley?

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 29/04/2011 21:25

Spiro, have you ever read any of the Shopaholic books? When I saw those trees, it rminded me of Becky Bloomfield's fancy New York wedding, with the Enchanted Forest etc, in the hotel ballroom. Though today was much classier of course Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 29/04/2011 21:26

Sorry, it's Bloomwood, isn't it?

TheSmallPrint · 29/04/2011 21:28

It was lily of the valley Spiro, I bet that it smelt fantastic. Again a beautiful understated boquet.

TheSmallPrint · 29/04/2011 21:42

Right, off to the land of nod as we were up at some ungodly hour again. See you all tomorrow!

DumSpiroSpero · 29/04/2011 21:44

Night Small!

Yes, Massive - I've read all the Shopaholics, but didn't remember that!

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 29/04/2011 21:46

Night night Small.

Spiro, it's the book where both her mum and MIL from hell insist on arranging her wedding -- on opposite sides of the Atlantic.

DumSpiroSpero · 29/04/2011 21:57

Rings a bell - don't her parents want the village church & a marquee in the back garden?

I think Prince Harry & James & Phillipa Middleton all did well with their bits. The little attendants that left in the coach with Harry looked like they were having a whale of a time!

DumSpiroSpero · 29/04/2011 22:01

More wedding action on Gold now Grin!

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 29/04/2011 22:20

That's the one Spiro. I love those books, it's the panicky feel of everything sprialling out of Becky's control that makes me laugh ands shiver, cos I could be very much like her if I was less of a scaredly cat given to excess in all fields mentioning no names

DumSpiroSpero · 29/04/2011 22:58

Have you read 'Can you keep a secret?' Not a BB one but I really enjoyed it.

I know what you mean about the excessive tendencies!

OP posts:
DumSpiroSpero · 29/04/2011 22:59

mmmm!

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 29/04/2011 23:03

I think I've read them all but can't bring the plot of that one to mind.
Yeah, I am a defintely a ''more is not quite enough'' kind of girl, I have to finish the whole box of chocs or eat the whole box of doughnuts..

DumSpiroSpero · 29/04/2011 23:15

I always like the idea of chocolate more than the reality, jam doughnuts however, I have very low resistance to.

DD has just woken up & come down while I was watching the last few minutes of the last episode of VoD - she didn't twig surprisingly!

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 29/04/2011 23:26

Would it matter? VoD is pretty innocuous
