Have a good day everyone!

I wouldn't be that surprised, Small!

Are you enjoying it yet? How's the weather? It has been scorchio here today Smile. Smallboy Major is coming down with An Illness. No idea what yet but he is hot as a hot potato in the Nevada desert.

DumSpiroSpero · 19/04/2011 20:56

It's having its moments. Food & drink still not very appealing and have barely eaten for the last 3 days so not exactly brimming with energy but otherwise ok.

Hope SB doesn't have anything too horrid.

Have you signed up for the donkey derby yet? Grin

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 19/04/2011 21:09

Oh poo, I have been missing the fun! Grin at the wrestling, and sausages, Sad at the obstreperous kids and SmallBoy's mysterious Ailment.

I remember hearing someone say that the best start in life kids could have was not 'perfect parents' , but 'good enough parents'. If you give the little ones the idea that you are super-human, it won't prepare them for the real world.

As you can imagine I didn't need much encouraging to embrace this to its fullest extent. The Superboys are well aware that I have my minor faults but fortunately know nothing of my more heinous crimes

TheEasterBunnysSmallFootPrint · 19/04/2011 21:55

But surely the Superboys have super parents Massive? Grin

just been in to feel SBM's head - very hot and sweaty. We have the nurofen at the ready for when he wakes up at 2.30am crying - inevitable.

Twigs got the CDs today you beauty!! I have spent the last hour trying to get TCM on to Itunes, for some reason it took ages compared to the other files Confused but it's on now and I'm looking forward to it.

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 19/04/2011 22:02

We are about as super parents as the boys are super boys, Small! i.e. not very Smile

Poor little SBM, and poor you, to be woken in the wee small hours by a crying boy is horrid, and they do so tug at your heart strings...

At least you have the prospect of the Voice in your ears as consolation.

ComeIntoTheEasterGardenMaud · 19/04/2011 22:05

Wotcha.

Sorry the food isn't appealing, Spiro. Do they have barbecues there? Then you could indeed form an orderly queue for the sausage. We had barbecue for dinner tonight - when the weather's good, Bloke wants to incinerate barbecue everything.

I've also heard that thing about being a good enough parent, Massive. On a good day, I might just manage to reach barely competent parent.

Oh dear about SmallBoy Major's emerging ailment. Help is on its way.

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 19/04/2011 22:18

I think being a good enough parent means that the kids happen to survive to the end of the day without being totally traumatised.

Barbecues are de rigeur on the island too, but only a brass monkey would have the ba**s to organise one in the weather we are having at the moment. And would lose them immediately afterwards, of course. Totally tropical it ain't.

Mind you, Mr M is not known for his al fresco culinary skills. or culinary skills of any type, for that matter. He can just about drive an electric kettle. though now and then sends one into meltdown by forgetting to add water first.

ComeIntoTheEasterGardenMaud · 19/04/2011 22:24

My commiserations, Massive, both for the inclement weather - not what I would have expected for the island at all (but is that because standards and expectations are different and, as in Rome, you regard anything below 80 degrees as the arrival of the new ice age?) - and for MrMassive's lack of culinary aptitude. Bloke is rather more gifted in the kitchen than I am, ahem.

Are the SuperBoys on holiday from school at the mo?

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 19/04/2011 22:29

Well, the Superboys are in bed at the mo, har har, but no, no hols for them,
such a shame. They do break up for the summer in June though, so swings and roundabouts, I guess. Sad

ComeIntoTheEasterGardenMaud · 19/04/2011 22:31

In June? And when do they return to their seat of academe?

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 19/04/2011 22:41

September-- deep groan!

ComeIntoTheEasterGardenMaud · 19/04/2011 22:44

Err, wow.

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 19/04/2011 22:49

PrÄ—cisement!

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 19/04/2011 22:49

why did it do that?????

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 19/04/2011 22:50

Serves me right for trying to be clever!

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 19/04/2011 23:32

Anyway folks, the computer is misbehaving so I better say goodnight to all.
See you tomorrow, ladiez

ComeIntoTheEasterGardenMaud · 19/04/2011 23:33

I feel your pain, Massive. Do they have holiday sports camps and the like on the tropical island, as they do here? Or do the SuperBoys opt for the sleep till noon and then play video games approach to holiday entertainment?

SupermassiveEasterBonnet · 19/04/2011 23:43

They start off well-intentioned and then deteriorate as the time goes on, Maudie. I can't blame them, I don't feel energetic when it's warm. And then sometimes we are On Safari, as it were.

Goodnight again!

ComeIntoTheEasterGardenMaud · 19/04/2011 23:47

Good night indeed!

TheEasterBunnysSmallFootPrint · 20/04/2011 07:30

Well, just to prove me wrong he slept like a dream until 7am, however, Sods Law meant that SB minor did it instead. He woke at about 2am and would not go back to sleep. Eventually I brought him in with me and Mr Small decamped to the spare room. He went to sleep at about 3.30am. My eyes feel like they have disappeared under the bags.

PassTheChocolateTwiglets · 20/04/2011 09:05

Morning all!

Was/is SB Minor ill, or was he just awake? And how does SM Major seem today? We had months of TwigBoy coming into our bed and keeping us awake for literally hours every night, so I do empathise. He seems to be over it now, fortunately - I hope it was just a one-off with SB Minor and that you manage to stay awake today!

Maud, I missed your Sex On Fire vid yesterday - how funny, I had forgotten all about that! Or had I? Maybe I was doing a subconscious thing..!

Thanks for your comments about the parenting yesterday, peeps. It did make me feel a bit better!

TheEasterBunnysSmallFootPrint · 20/04/2011 09:31

Hi Twigs, I'm not sure what was wrong with SB minor, he did complain about his ear a bit but that seems to be OK this morning, SB Major is still droopy and hot, he hasn't had much breakfast but I am trying to get him to drink as I think he might be a bit dehydrated.

The Sex on Fire vid didn't work for me, a combination of too modern a song with a period drama and also they kept speeding the film up so it was like a Benny Hill sketch Confused.

ComeIntoTheEasterGardenMaud · 20/04/2011 11:00

No, I don't much like the Sex on Fire vid, but it was my introduction to the Kings of Leon and so boosted my otherwise pitiful street cred!

Off out for the day. C U L8ter.
