Dawn French is one lucky lady

Who wouldn't want to come home to this on their sofa?

Oh, all is well, chez nous. Bizarrely, I have just had to water the garden because we have gone so long without serious rain. The only grit in my oyster is that the foxes have bitten through both hosepipes, turning them into sprinklers, so I am having to lug watering cans around.

I wonder if he's free, as he doesn't mind working outdoors?

Twigs - from Wiki Judy Blume considers this book to have had one "odd and lasting side-effect of its popularity"; the decline in the popularity of the name Ralph. Throughout the book, Michael consistently refers to his penis as "Ralph",[4] and the subsequent generation who grew up reading Forever seemed unwilling to consider it as a suitable name for their children. Blume responded to several concerned Ralphs with; "I apologize to all of them. It's nothing personal."[4]

Have fun in France!!

TheSmallPrint · 06/04/2011 16:18

Maud it tipped it down here on the weekend and soaked all my blummin washing but tis glorious sunshine today Smile, can he pop over and do my lawn when you've finished with him please?

PassTheTwiglets · 06/04/2011 16:21

Small, I think you missed out a me in that last post :o

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 06/04/2011 16:25

heh heh heh Grin only after a haircut and a bath Twigs.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 17:03

'Tis glorious sunshine here, too. I'll send Ralph the Gardener over to you, Small, but it may be some time. The list of horticultural jobs needing attention is nearly endless. Watering, seed-sowing, digging the weeds out of the lawn, building some raised beds for the allotment ... it could take weeks, I tell you, weeks. Or possibly months.

Lovely vid, again, but what's he mumbling at the end?

SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 18:37

Everyone's favourite optimist is Victor Meldrew.

Goodness, I've just fallen asleep on the sofa with my mouth open, how mortifying!

I expect I m too late now to wish Twigs Bon Voyage.

I didn't know about Ralph either. I always feel so sorry for the cousins from across the pond who don't know about Randy.

LadyVenetia · 06/04/2011 18:52

Beautiful day !! And Little Miss Venetia has had a small academic success today so in in a good mood!!!

But I hear Twigs was a little down this morning, hope things are better now.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 19:06

Ah! Kicking myself at not spotting the reference to Victor Meldrew my alter ego. And bon voyage, Twiggy! Don't forget to stock up on Chateauneuf de Gizzy.

Randy is indeed the most unfortunate of names, possibly followed by Chuck.

LadyVenetia · 06/04/2011 20:11

Chuck is short for Charles though isn't it, so if you don't like Chuck you can be a proper Charlie instead!!!

Here's a gorgeous pic

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 20:27

Yes, I know, but it still sounds very odd as a name to me!

That pic may upset Massive - it's just before or after Guy does the dastardly deed, isn't it?

LadyVenetia · 06/04/2011 20:33

I know and if you click on Original Image - it's huge and beautiful!

TheSmallPrint · 06/04/2011 21:06

Maud, I am trying to replay the vid on my phone but it's having none of it, I will look again tomorrow and translate.

LadyV that is a delightful photo indeed.

Mr Small is out for the eve so I am enjoying my Mothers Day present. Mmmmm

TheSmallPrint · 06/04/2011 21:07

And no it's not chocolate.

SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 21:08

No, I didn't fall asleep again, I was busy!
That pic is indeed gorgeous, and very symbolic of Gisborne the walking disaster area, own worst enemy and that of quite a few other people.
Very naughty of me but Marian should have known better than to upset him when he had his big sword in his hand.

TheSmallPrint · 06/04/2011 21:10

Although it could be the aural equivalent. And I wouldn't mind a nibble either.

SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 21:10

I hope the pressie is not someone tied to a tree, Small. though why one would have a tree in one's house I can't think!

TheSmallPrint · 06/04/2011 21:17

Now that would be some pressie Massive! Grin

Well done to Miss V btw, lots of brainy girls on this thread

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 21:18

Oh you ladies are so saucy.

Thank you, Small, for volunteering to act asl interpreter of the gnomic mutterings. How much of your Mothers' Day gift have you, ahem, consumed?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 21:21

Living as I do in the Land of Barbie, I find the SmallBoys, the MassiveBoys and TwigBoy most endearing and a refreshing antidote to all the Pink.

TheSmallPrint · 06/04/2011 21:23

I'm now on S7 episode 4. Much blueness of eyes .

SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 21:28

Maybe one of both is the ideal, so the nosepicking and muddy trainers would offset the pink.

Well done indeed to MissVenetia. I think when the Superboys come home with their reports they'll read like the old joke:

    Jimmy is trying. Very.
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 21:33

Funnily enough, I picked up a copy of Metro [rather poor quality free paper] on the train today, and it was reporting research which (apparently) found that parents of two girls were the happiest and most contented - other numbers or gender combinations of children were less conducive to parental happiness. I expect someone's started a thread on it somewhere.

Does Lady Venetia have two girls? Nobody else here does, I think.

SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 21:38

I know Metro, Maud, it's my favourite UK newspaper. Because of the price, you see. I can't see that being true about two girls, all the parents I know with that combination are just as messed up as any others.
