Here we go again, ladiez!

Let's all make passes at Harry in glasses

Snuggly!

Beautiful smile

Dawn French is one lucky lady

Who wouldn't want to come home to this on their sofa?

I have one boy and one girl

SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 21:47

Best of both worlds, then, Lady V. Or it could always be the worst! Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 22:04

I read it in the newspaper so it must be true! I note, though, that it doesn't say who did the research (possibly in inverted cocmcmas here) - was it Bounty.com or are they just commenting on it?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 22:04

Ooops. Slippery keyboard finger. Commas.

SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 22:15

I have to laugh at that idealised photo they've used to illustrate the article.
Two sweet little girlies in pink, skipping along hand in hand!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 22:27

Looks like something from a Start Rite ad, doesn't it!

SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 22:36

Do they still have those ghastly shoes, Maud? Or maybe they are not quite as ghastly as they used to be. I did so dream of black patent Mary Janes.
When I wasn't being Robin Hood or some cowboy.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 22:38

I'm not sure. Girl had some Start Rites when she was about four but I haven't spotted any in the shops recently. These days, she dreams of sparkly Converses. Hmm

SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 22:43

You don't mean the ones with the flashing lights in the sole, I presume?

DumSpiroSpero · 06/04/2011 22:45

Finally I can post - internet on phone playing up all evening.

I can assure Massive & Small that Miss Spiro's academic abilities have not diminished her fascination with nose-mining and farts, unfortunately.

She has a pirate fancy dress treasure hunt at school tomorrow so have spent the best part of 2 hours putting 16 plaits in her hair to make pseudo-dreadlocks!

Well done Miss V btw, as well as bon voyage to Twigs and sympathies to Small with the ongoing foot saga - hope Lucas is taking your mind off it Wink

Did anyone else watch the Crimson Petal this evening? Thought it might be a bit overly dark for me at first but was glad I stuck with it - will definitely keep watching.

DumSpiroSpero · 06/04/2011 22:48

They still make Start-rites - not too ghastly but vastly overpriced imho. The Lelli Kelly ads are the bane of my life. luckily DD has huge feet so I have told her they don't make them in her size!

DumSpiroSpero · 06/04/2011 22:51

...but I did treat myself to these about 6 months ago Grin!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 22:56

Hello, Spiro. I did not (of course) ::gnashes teeth:: watch anything on the telly tonight but am glad to hear that TCPATW was good. How many episodes will there be?

Massive - I can't find a picture of the footwear which Girl covets but they are much like these. Being a skinflint mummy, I am not, though, likely to spend the better part of £30 on blinged-up plimsolls!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 22:58

Oh, I love your Converses, Spiro! My remarks above were inspired by thread a while back on which someone described Lelli Kellis as blinged-up Doodles.

SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 22:59

Hello, Spiro, those Converse are great! Are Lelli Kelly the very twee-ly pink girlie shoes? I think I've seen the ads in magazines but not had much call to research further, obviously.

SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 23:01

The shops are full of Converses here of every shape and hue. Unfortunately, as they cost nearly double.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 23:02

Sparkles are a girl's best friend

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 23:03

So what footwear for ladies is currently a la mode on the desert island, Massive?

DumSpiroSpero · 06/04/2011 23:06

Have you tried Primark for sparkly baseball boots, or is you DD of an age/persuasion where imitations just won't do?

PassTheTwiglets · 06/04/2011 23:13

Well to balance out the braininess of our Academic juniors, MissTwiglets has today been referred for one-to-one maths tuition :) She's going to hate it - she already hates school and she's supposed to do an extra hour after school!

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 23:13

Ladies footwear here is the same as anywhere else I guess, Maud. Ballet pumps, trainers, heels, boots. They luurve fashion on the Island

at the LKs. Those look as if they're encrusted with it, actually, after eating too many pink cupcakes.

PassTheTwiglets · 06/04/2011 23:13

Oh and DD had those Lelli Kelly's - I hate them but Nanny bought them for her. They didn't last 2 minutes though...

OP posts:
SupermassiveLBD · 06/04/2011 23:15

Poor MissTwiggy, I feel her pain. One on one maths tuition would have been my worst nightmare Sad

DumSpiroSpero · 06/04/2011 23:16

Oh poor Miss Twigs! I hated maths - presumably it's an extra hour once a week, not every day? Shock

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 06/04/2011 23:18

Spiro! You are (as previously discussed) a genius! Girl thinks Primarni is heaven on earth. I worry about child labour, but may swallow my scruples if I can get her some Converse-a-likes. There's silence from Massive. She's probably passed out at the sight of the Lelli Kellis!

Twiggy! ::clasps you to her ample bosom:: Better that MissTwiglets should have one-to-one tuition than be left floundering. Have they said how long it will last? With any luck, a bit of intensive support will get her up and running and then she can ditch the tuition. What is it about school she dislikes, the poor poppet?
