Well, this should guarantee us some visitors if it comes up on 'Most Active'.

Ok, the next 2 aren't John Standring, but it would be rude not to...

Hello ladies.
Don't post very often but love reading all your lustful ramblings chat about RA.
Did anyone see The boat that Guy built last night on BBC1? There was a narrowboat called Dum Spiro Spero!

I love spotting these little things that remind me of RA.

TheSmallPrint · 31/03/2011 13:48

Hello and welcome cornish! Come join in our lusting ramblings anytime.

I normally do watch The Boat That Guy Built (not for name reasons Massive before you ask!) as Smallboy loves it but missed it last night as they were late to bed. I think they repeat it on the weekend though?

So Cornish, who is your favourite RA character?

SupermassiveLBD · 31/03/2011 13:49

Hello cornishpasty, nice to see your yummy face! Are there splits with jam and cream to follow?

I saw that program title in one of my mailing list postings last night and wondered about it --the name Guy tends to jump out of me these days for some reason Grin The dum spiro spero connection is even more delightful!

SupermassiveLBD · 31/03/2011 13:50

out at me, rather.

TheSmallPrint · 31/03/2011 13:51

Are you hungry Massive? Confused Grin

TheSmallPrint · 31/03/2011 13:52

at least you dind't put jump on me!

SupermassiveLBD · 31/03/2011 14:00

Indeed Small, whatever would everybody have thought? Shock
Although Messire de Gisborne is welcome to jump anywhere he pleases, any time.

TheSmallPrint · 31/03/2011 14:00

Phoenix, the neck pain causes tension headaches as your muscles tense due to being in pain. Or it's nerve related and thus causing headaches. I had to have botox in my back and neck in the end. Also had steriod injections in my neck before that, anti depressants to stop the muscle spasm, physio, ultra sound, acupuncture, a million different pain killers etc. etc. I see a Chiropractor every few months who does McTimmoney and is quite gentle but effective.

If you are not getting better then get yourself to a GP. If you have BUPA get a referral quick sharp or you'll be waiting for ever for treatment on the NHS.

SupermassiveLBD · 31/03/2011 14:12

It's a bit of a vicious circle, isn't it, Small. I am lucky, and not too bad, in the neck pain stakes but I get it whenever I let myself get stressed. The lady at the spa told me a time or two that she could not get her fingers in the muscles, they were so rock hard with tension.

TheSmallPrint · 31/03/2011 14:14

Yes stress is the main trigger for me too Massive (on top of an old bad accident which was the starting point). I have noticed how much better it is since I left my old job - funny that.

SupermassiveLBD · 31/03/2011 14:23

I suppose that's why I get away with it, no accident as a trigger. But at bad times I wake up and can hardly open my mouth cos i've been clenching my jaw all night. I have been so much better since joining the Academy though.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 31/03/2011 15:08

You two are scaring me witless!

Quick - need an Armitage fix!

DumSpiroSpero · 31/03/2011 15:11

I should be doing housework but have just watched Sexy Back 1, 2 and 3 one after the other Grin! 3 is my favourite as it's got JP and Lucas in, I must admit, but 2 has some very nice short-haired (ish) Gizzy!

Massive, I meant to ask you yesterday - I was watching SB3 (I think), and noticed some Guy & Meg vids down the side so had a nosey, expecting to have to turn them off pronto as she'd played Lisa in Sparkhouse and I thought it would be a bit creepy given that and the age gap.

Is it me or did they seem to have far more chemistry than RA and the actress who played Marion did? Be interested to know what you think as obviously you're far more familiar with the characters than I am.

DumSpiroSpero · 31/03/2011 15:12

Will do, Phoenix?

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 31/03/2011 15:13

Sorry Phoenix! I'm sure you won't need all that, mine really is a long term (over 20 years!) thing.

Spiro I am now going to have to go into the basement and look it up. I may be some time...

DumSpiroSpero · 31/03/2011 15:17

While you're there Small (or anyone - I really have to get stuff done - we've got people at the weekend!)..can anyone rember or post a link to the very rude YouTube vid...you know the one I mean Wink

...was so busy trying to remember to breathe when I watched it I didn't add it to my spreadsheet and can't remember what it was called or even what music it was set to Blush Grin

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 31/03/2011 15:20

I don't know which one you mean Confused

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 31/03/2011 15:20

Very rude YouTube vid - what do you mean? Have I missed something?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 31/03/2011 15:21

Give us a clue about what was in it, Spiro!

SupermassiveLBD · 31/03/2011 15:28

The only thing wrong with me was Stress, Phoenix, and I have never needed meds or anything, other than the occasional OTC painkiller. so don't worry But get checked out so you can start on the road to recovery sooner.

Spiro, I must really have a proper look at the Meg episode. I hadn't seen Sparkhouse at the time I saw it but was aware of the connection. However (and this is just on the strength of one viewing) I didn't find anything creepy about their scenes, the way they were played -- a young girl showing compassion to someone in pain, on whom she might have developed a crush over time. And Guy touched by the idea of someone thinking of him.

I know some people would have liked to see them together but I found that idea creepy all right as she seems very young, much younger than Marion. But greater age-gaps were common in those times I know.

So maybe I am just being dog in the manger Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 31/03/2011 15:34

Was Meg just in the one episode then, Massive? I had no idea if or how their realationship panned out. I'm not sure if it would have worked over a longer period based on what I've seen but I thought they had a huge amount of chemistry which I didn't expect at all. No disrespect to the actress who played Marion - just one of those things that you either 'get' or you don't I guess.

Very rude vid - I think someone dug it up a thread or two back - one with lots of photos not involving The Man's face Grin!

OP posts:
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 31/03/2011 15:37

I think that the Meg episode was nicely underplayed actually, but obviously the two characters / actors did have chemistry, possibly because they knew each other because they had worked together before, and were pleased to be working together again (or may be because they are both good actors!!)

I was never completely convinced about Lucy Griffiths acting, I have to say, but she does have some good scenes with Richard, and I suppose you have read that article when she said that she loved working with Richard.

Perhaps you might not have heard that she has gone to Hollywood and has been cast in something, might be a pilot for a potential TV series, what I do remember is that it is about ZOMBIES!!!

Perhaps this is continuing a trend for Richard's former co-stars, first Andrew Lincoln in The Walking Dead, and now Lucy Griffiths in Awakening (just looked it up!!)

BtW thanks for that John Porter vid Spiro!

SupermassiveLBD · 31/03/2011 15:42

Grin at your RA co-star thoughts, Phoenix, I have seen fans saying he has put a spell on them, but I didn't realise it extended to his colleagues Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 31/03/2011 15:45

Spiro have PM'd you...
Meg was just in the one episode, as she dies in his arms after being wounded in their escape. I am trying to decide it it would be worth it to get a kiss from Gizzy...

DumSpiroSpero · 31/03/2011 15:52

You wouldn't be able to enjoy it for very long though, would you Massive?
