Isn't that a funny one Maud. Who would have thought there was someone else out there with the same thoughts Grin. There were lovely shots of both of them and some truely cringy ones and funny how many similar poses - I guess the photographers wheel em in take the same old snaps and wheel em out.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/03/2011 18:57

Yes, Small, although the whole thing was out of focus and the soundtrack was execrable, I thought she had done very well in arranging the photos in almost-matching pairs.

::snort:: at Pig-mah-lion, which I suppose may well be closer to the original Greek but, really! Even I in my ponciest ponceyness would draw the line at that.

And now for something completely different

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 19:01

yes the sound track, best forgotton I think. I wonder if the blurriness was becuase images were pinched from other vids?

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 21:12

anyone? Wine

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/03/2011 21:19

Oh yes please. I'm halfway through watching Being Human on iplayer. I need Wine and [valium].

SupermassiveLBD · 16/03/2011 21:19

hello, Small, don't mind if I do. Ratafia?
Funny old vid indeed, the one of Hugh and Richard one after the other. I am ashamed to say I didn't notice the blurriness, but then my eyes see everything that way these days...

I say, do you think we ought to pester Spiro for a Lucas story next, or shall we be kind and let her get on with her novel?

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 21:21

The last one wasn't quite as good as I hoped. I'll say no more til you finish watching.

SupermassiveLBD · 16/03/2011 21:32

Thanks, ladies. This program of yours is yet another treat in store for me, then, say ten years down the road?

The Gizzy doesn't help much with the vision issues but it sure tastes good.

Here's a sight for sore eyes anyway

OP posts:
TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 21:39

Well you might get it in 10 years or so but not sure how well it will wear the years.

If Spiro is going to charge us for her novel Id rathe. She uploaded a Lucas story where he doesn't die to Wattpad

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 21:41

Sorry about typos, I'm on the phone.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/03/2011 21:48

::Crawls out from behind the Chesterfield::

Where's ... the ... Polish ... cordial?

::Collapses::

DumSpiroSpero · 16/03/2011 21:58

Ok a Lucas story where he doesn't die - this was my fantasy ending for S9 of Spooks:

Harry had been in on the bomb in Dakar and the whole thing was a huge set up by the British & American governments in conjuction with the security services. So basically they'd been 'grooming' John/Lucas and taking advantage of him all along.

Harry and the 'powers that be' would have paid him off and he'd have retired somewhere sunny with Maya while Harry continued as Head of MI5, but always with the possibility that John/Lucas would return and let the cat out the bag with enormous consequences.

Will never write it though as don't have the technical or political knowledge to do it justice.

As for my novel, if it ever sees the light of day I'm planning to dedicate to you guys, as I wouldn't have started writing again had it not been for this thread, so I'm sure I'd be able to sort you out a complimentary copy or two!

DumSpiroSpero · 16/03/2011 22:01

H went to bed stupidly early so am having a sneaky peek at The Impressionists. Is there any character he doesn't make sexy?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/03/2011 22:01

Spiro - here's looking at you, kid.

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 22:03

Sprio I'm ridiculously excited atthe thought of a novel being dedicated to me us!! Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/03/2011 22:07

::Slumps on Chesterfield and gratefully takes the very large glass of cordial::

Ah, Spiro. You have enrolled in the Faculty of Art History. Well done.

DumSpiroSpero · 16/03/2011 22:08

Maud.

Can't help but wonder if there is any evidence that Monet actually wore a blue smock Hmm?

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 22:09

Are you in need of medical attention Maud or is the stiff drink enough to revive you?

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/03/2011 22:10

Now you mention it, Small, I do think that my heart beat is a little irregular and I am short of breath. Perhaps I should seek medical advice. Just as a precaution, you understand.

::waits expectantly::

DumSpiroSpero · 16/03/2011 22:14

Are you a Monet fan, Maud? My dad and I went to the exhibition at the Royal Academy about 10 years ago, and tbh I slightly preferred his London cityscapes to the garden paintings.

BTW if I suddenly disappear my phone has conked out - my charger isn't working at the mo.

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 22:14

nee naw nee naw paging dr track..

SupermassiveLBD · 16/03/2011 22:16

Oh, those eyes

I am sure if Monet had eyes the same colour as the Man's, he would have to have worn a blue smock to bring out the colour in them.

Is there any evidence he actually wore a squirrel on his chin?

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 16/03/2011 22:17

Dunno, Spiro, but I suppose it's plausible as painting smocks might perhaps be made by the makers of bleus de travail. And anyway [ponce alert] it's not about literal truth, it's about emotional truth, innit? ....
