Morning twigs Smile Smallboy Major is in school today - reluctantly. I suspect his sudden illness may be PE related as a) he doesn't like the teacher and b) they do dance in PE at the moment. Although to be fair he was quite droopy and pasty.

PassTheTwiglets · 16/03/2011 10:22

Ah yes, the horror making boys do dance! Poor SmallBoy. Takes them a fair while to get their energy levels back up, I think... at least it does with mine.

Hmmm, so at the moment I think we have more on the Outcast bench than on the Cool Kids bench!

I was all set to do my fitness DVD this morning (as things are now Out Of Control) but I can't find it anywhere! I'm annoyed and delighted in equal measures :o

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 10:58

I think the outcast bench is fast becoming the cool kids bench Wink.

Ah yes fitness DVDs, I still have Shred in the dvd case since Christmas, funny how all my other dvds have seen the light of day but not that one. It haunts me though. In fact I'm sure it's looking at me now.

If one qualification for the outcasts bench is not going to Uni, then you need to shuffle up at bit more.

I did a my post-grad journalism course as a mature student, based of work experience (I started writing for kids mags and the local rag when I was about 14).

If you haven't found them already, chapters 9 & 10 of Sparkys are on Wattpad now btw.

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 11:13

OK I see I'm going to have to redefine the definition of Outcast or else we'll all be sitting on one tiny bench wondering why. Grin Anyone who can write a bit go over there

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 11:14

Actually, lets all sit together, that's much nicer. I'm off to read your story Spiro, back in a minute Grin.

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 11:25

Oh for goodness sake woman, stop tantalising us with these morsels!!!!! Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 16/03/2011 11:27

Does that roughly translate as 'Please, Spiro - can I have some more?' Grin

SupermassiveLBD · 16/03/2011 11:38

Morning all. As I said earlier in different words, university is wasted on the young. Those of us who went probably got very little out of it, ultimately. I am sure it's what you make of yourself in life that is the important thing.

And may I say I have never met a more engaging, intelligent, well-informed, creative, bright, quick-witted, funny and generous bunch of ladies than I have on here.

So indeed let's all sit together. And share the doughnuts and lattes.

Or I would, and there's Spiro's latest to read and so much else but I have a million RL things to do.
Hope to be back later but meanwhile best wishes and commiserations to all the parents of sick Offspring.

Cheers Massive.

Yes Spiro, that's exactly what it means! Grin

DumSpiroSpero · 16/03/2011 12:26

It's nearly finished - you may need tobe on standby with more than a latte! [wink}

Small, the Shred is the DVD that I lost! I bought it last autumn and it stayed in its shrinkwrap until Jan when I planned to start doing it. I never did and I haven't seen it since!

Spiro, yay, we can have our own non-Uni Outcast bench then! It does make me smile that I was considering journalism whilst you were considering working at the Beeb and we then swapped our careers around!

I sometimes think I'd like to go to uni as a mature student but it's the uni social life I would've benefitted most from and that's what I wish I'd done. I great up with just a small handful of friends and they were mostly quite shy and we didn't really do much. I think going to Uni could have provided me that 'getting out of my shell' I so badly needed at the time. I might even have more than 3 RL friends now, had I gone :o #sadsack

What?! Did somebody mnention 2 new chapters?! Cue running noise, a loud and a Twiglets-shaped hole in the internet as she dashes off to find it...

PassTheTwiglets · 16/03/2011 12:28

'grew up' - not sure where 'great' came from.

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 12:32

Maybe our shred DVDs have run off together Twigs, gone to more deserving homes maybe?

I only have one good friend from Uni and she lives in another country now so we only really communicate by email. I made more friends through work and school that I still see a lot of. Twas fun going to University though - despite being a lot of hard work too

SupermassiveLBD · 16/03/2011 12:37

Grr, I really HAVE to be outta here, but two chapters? That constitutes torture. However am I going to resist?
Forgot to comment earlier, but boys and dancing, eh? Wink Wink When they grow up, they might be able to tango.

DumSpiroSpero · 16/03/2011 12:49

PassTheTwiglets · 16/03/2011 12:54

:) at Lisa thinking John is "quite fit for an old bloke".

I can't mention the bit here 'cos of spoilers but I adore John when he has to take Carol up some paracetamol. Oh, could this man be any lovelier?

Spiro, your John is making my stomach lurch! (in a good way :o)

PassTheTwiglets · 16/03/2011 13:02

Chapter 11....

Oh. Oh my. Just.... oh my.

PassTheTwiglets · 16/03/2011 13:08

Just finished it - waaaahhhhh!!!! Make a girl cry, would you, Spiro?! :)

I love, love, love, LOVED it. I think I love him even more now than I did in Sparkhouse! Will DM you for spoiler-free purposes, until everyone's had a chance to read.

A triumph!

TheSmallPrint · 16/03/2011 13:17

Oh I love a happy ending me Smile. But very sad it has ended. What a fab first story to put out there Spiro, I can see it's had loads of reads but can't seem to see the feedback - has it been good?

DumSpiroSpero · 16/03/2011 13:19

Smile thank you

Your comment re: Chapter 11 reminded me of this scene from one of my favourite 80's films...

Grin
DumSpiroSpero · 16/03/2011 13:20

Haven't had any yet, just someone saying 'welcome to wattpad'.

Hoping I might get some more reactions now it's finished.

PassTheTwiglets · 16/03/2011 14:03

I didn't comment as I'm not registered on Wattpad...
