Right, I must toddle off too. Work tomorrow and DD not 100% at bedtime so may be in for a restless night...

See you tomorrow, sweet dreams.

Spiro, your story isn't bad at all! Nobody would think anything of it if you were a man telling that story and it should be no different for girls either! Sounds like fun, actually - I never did any of that nightclub thing. Your background is far more preferable to mine: DrT was 1st boyf Blush

Hope MissSpiro is ok this morning?

Massive, LOL at stand in one place and twitch the odd body part :) Did you meet MrMassive on the island or were you in the UK at the time? I am wondering what made you move - whether hubby is an islander or you just fancied a change or whatnot. A few of my friends talk about emigrating and I can never get my head around the idea, though I would love to live in Venice for a year. Feel free to ignore all this if it's giving away too much detail, natch.

Right, first school run in over 2 weeks - best get skates on!

DumSpiroSpero · 07/03/2011 07:27

DD still grumbling about sore throat and not wanting to go to school - at least she was until I reminded her she's got a friend round for tea tonight that I'd have to cancel - bingo, miraculous recovery!

Morning all.

.
TheSmallPrint · 07/03/2011 09:44

Hope DDs throat was just a stalling tactic Sprio.

DumSpiroSpero · 07/03/2011 09:59

Grin at Small's vid.

DD's recovery was so miraculous she didn't even need a dose of Calpol before she went. She had a day off a few weeks ago when she was a bit under the weather, and had to go to my parents for the day. DD & DMum each think the other is the best thing since sliced bread, so I strongly suspect she was after a day at Nana & Papa's playing on Bin Weevils and being generally spoilt rotten!

That was funny, Small! I think it's his wife hwo uploaded those vids... or someone pretending to be her.

SupermassiveLBD · 07/03/2011 14:00

Hello, ladies. So that was the young professor. He looks as if he should still be in short trousers, rather than professing Still, it makes physics a lot more fun than it used to be at school.

Grin from me too at Small's vid.

Just come back from the supermarket run. Now of course all I have to do is put a food mountain away. I wouldn't care but it's 95% stuff I won't/don't/can't eat.

Here is a completely gratuitous but delicious pic to cheer up anyone in need of cheering up.

PassTheTwiglets · 07/03/2011 14:02

Oh my that's a pretty one, Massive!!

SupermassiveLBD · 07/03/2011 14:11

I know I could get seriously addicted to Lucas, if I'd let myself, Twiggers Wink

DumSpiroSpero · 07/03/2011 14:30

Mmmmm! and moving on a few shots...thud!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/03/2011 15:29

Good afternoon, ladies. I too giggled at Massive's description of twitching a body part in time to indifferent music aka the student disco.

I have spent today in the garden and am feeling full of the joys of spring. A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot.

DumSpiroSpero · 07/03/2011 15:39

Wouldn't say no to having one of those up a trellis Maud Wink!

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/03/2011 15:45

What? Even with the squirrel and think of the splinters? Perhaps your next MN name should be Mrs Trellis of North Wales.

Wouldn't say no to having one of those up a trellis

I have just snorted up my tea through my nose and all over the keyboard and had the SBs running to see what the matter was with their choking mother...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/03/2011 16:03

::Passes Massive a lace-trimmed hankie::

I think this would be more suited to a dalliance and this would provide a certain comfort. Clearly, I have given this too much thought.

Twiggy - Did you have a two week half term or did you steal the children away from school for your trip?

PassTheTwiglets · 07/03/2011 16:46

LOL at you ladies this afternoon!! :) Perhaps this book might come in handy on this topic?

Maud, it was one week and one day half term and I took MissTwiglets out for the remaining 4 days. They're very good at giving us time off of school. I have been coerced into going to Florida with family this time next year - I do NOT do travelling abroad due to an incident many years ago (long story - basically stranded abroad with no way of getting home and have been phobic ever since), so this is a big deal for me! I have a whole year to get wound up and anxious about it :)

SupermassiveLBD · 07/03/2011 17:23

A good job I wasn't drinking tea this time when I clicked on Twiggy's book link. How very approrpate to the topic of the moment.
I'm loving the garden furniture, Maud, very classy. I presune you are not thinking of investing in anything so plebian as a passel of small plastic people

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 07/03/2011 19:09

I will be buying all plastic people available!!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 07/03/2011 19:10

Then I will be able to document "The Adventures of Thorin Oakenshield"

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 07/03/2011 19:10

Or that should probably be "The Adventures of Little Thorin"

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 07/03/2011 19:11

I'll get my coat...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 07/03/2011 19:40

Ha ha! I have many gardening books but not that one. I just went to look at Ebay, in case Plastic Guy was available again. He isn't, but I saw some exquisite earrings from Van Cleef and Arpels, a fine example of the jeweller's art.

DumSpiroSpero · 07/03/2011 20:02

this is rather endearing for a romantic tete-a-tete dans le jardin
