Would you like a glass of Chateau Gizzy?

Don't blame you Twigs - I would be too.

PassTheTwiglets · 13/02/2011 22:43

His speech was lovely, Massive. He thanked Livia for supporting him in his career, whether it was "as a dancing queen or a sometime king" :)

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 13/02/2011 22:44

I've seen Black Swan - well worth a watch. I've seen all the Bafta best pic nominees, except for Inception.

TSN got best director & best adapted screenplay.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 13/02/2011 22:45

Oh you are right - David Fincher won best director wasn't it? But he wasn't there to collect it. I've liked a few of his films before but my absolute favourite is Fight Club.

OP posts:
ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/02/2011 22:50

I haven't seen many of his films - only Alien 3, Se7en and Fight Club. I thought Se7en was the best of them, although hard to watch.

Yes, The Firthmeister's speech was a delight. He said something very sweet and gracious about his parents, who were there.

PassTheTwiglets · 13/02/2011 22:52

Oh yes, that was very sweet "I'd like to thank them for basically everything", or words to that effect?

PassTheTwiglets · 13/02/2011 22:53

I see the Not Dead Yet award went to Christopher Lee. In the nick of time, by the looks of it.

SupermassiveLBD · 13/02/2011 22:55

LOL @Twig's undead comment.

MrsLucasNorth · 13/02/2011 22:56

Oh God - if he snuffs it that'll be another spanner in The Hobbit works...

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/02/2011 22:58

I don't remember his exact words but that was very much the gist. I am now so excited about seeing the film tomorrow.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 13/02/2011 22:58

A friend of mine met Christopher Lee a year or so ago!!! Legend!

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/02/2011 22:59

Twiggy! ::shocked:: If you continue to be mean I shall post a link to The Frog Chorus.

MrsLucasNorth · 13/02/2011 23:00

I am absolutely bloody knackered after this afternoon etc. Off to bed for me - see you tomorrow, Ladies!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 13/02/2011 23:01

Night MrsLN!!!

OP posts:
PassTheTwiglets · 13/02/2011 23:02

Night MrsLN - hope you sleep well.

Maud, enjoy tomorrow - it really is a fantastic film. Couldn't have loved it more.

I'm off to bed too. Night, all! x

SupermassiveLBD · 13/02/2011 23:06

Night, MrsLN, I hope you have a peaceful night, will be thinking of you.
Night Twigs hope you have sweet dreams too.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/02/2011 23:08

Night, MrsLN. Tomorrow is another day and all that. Fingers crossed.

Night too, Twiggy. Patrick Stewart in last week's Guardian said he cried at the film because it was perfect. I'm looking forward to basking in the Firthmeister lurve.

SupermassiveLBD · 13/02/2011 23:16

I hope you enjoy it too, Maud. It does sound rather wonderful. My fashionista {hah!} side has been rather intrigued by the costumes, which look terribly elegant.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/02/2011 23:22

Just getting a little more of the Firthmeister on the news and then I'm off to bed too. He described his parents as majestic - isn't that lovely? ::wonders whether GardenGirl would ever get up on national tv to describe her as majestic, if she were ever to get the opportunity:: I have a fashionista side too (mostly in abeyance these days) so am also looking forward to the costumes. I'm hoping for plenty of double-breasted suits, Mary-Jane shoes and hats.

Good night ladies.

SupermassiveLBD · 13/02/2011 23:25

Goodnight and sweet Firthmeister dreams, Maud -- if I am allowed to wish you that without arousing dear Johnny's ire.

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/02/2011 23:36

Quick. Help me. Tell me before I weaken that I must not stay up to watch The Girl With The Pearl Earring, as I only caught the end last time it was on.

(They won't be Firthmeister dreams. I think he is a thoroughly nice chap and gives good cravat but he doesn't make me wibble like only one can. Well, two, obviously, if you include The Gardener. Which I suppose one must).

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/02/2011 23:43

::Resists the siren call of Vermeer and goes to bed::

SupermassiveLBD · 13/02/2011 23:43

NO Maud, you can watch the DVD at a later date. You want to be fresh to enjoy your movie tomorrow and if you stay up late you will have sore red eyes like a lab rat.

ROFL @ gives good cravat

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 13/02/2011 23:47

::Looks back::

Thank you. You are quite right. But to acquire the dvd I'd have to cry havoc and let loose the SMFV again. And he does give good cravat. Very few do it better.

Good night. See you on the morrow.
