Do come in. It's never too late to enrol. We have an extensive programme of rigorous academic study and a never-ending supply of Chateau Gizzy and ratafia biscuits.

Didn't Adrian Lester also star in that archeological(?)/Camelot thingy a couple of years ago with Julie Graham (who also starred with our man in BtS)?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 01/02/2011 22:03

We seem to watching RH and Merlin on a sort of random shuffle according to MissTechno's whim.

Mr Lester is very swoonsome. The last time I took MissTechno to the china-painting cafe (many relatives have been recipients of hand-painted artifacts, ahem) he walked past the window wearing a tight white t-shirt which showed off his muscly arms to perfection. I almost dropped my teapot.

Wot archaeological/Camelot thing is that? That reminds me, I must track down that Wagnerian thing wiv Rufus Sewell, as MissTechno seems to be on a medieval jag at the moment.

You should get Miss Techno to do you a replica set of N&S teacups, Techno.

Now I bet everyone can guess who would have made you actually DROP your teapot.

How many series of Merlin have there been so far?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 01/02/2011 22:11

I nearly bumped into Adrian Lester when they were filming Hustle last year in London. I also saw Robert Glenister and the legendary Robert Vaughn...

Wanna see the picture I took?

TheSmallPrint · 01/02/2011 22:15

Yes please Phoenix. I don't know who he is and can't seem to get pics to work on google at the mo.

Theresa I ddont think he looks fatherly just a lot older. This not a bad thing as I like my men to look like men rather than PFWs!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 01/02/2011 22:17

Ah, yes, replica tea cups. But actually I have a large collection of vintage tea cups.

It is true that if Mr Thornton had walked past in his floppy white shirt displaying his muscular arms to good effect I might have rushed out to embrace him dropped the teapot.

This is series 2 of Merlin.

Robert Glenister is the one from Ashes to Ashes, isn't he? (Another thing I never watched although the concept greatly appeals to me). To those of us of a certain age, Robert Vaughn is Napoleon Solo, the man from UNCLE.

From where I sit, pushing 40 is not old at all.

::quietly shrivels::

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 01/02/2011 22:23

Adrian Lester is the guy in the foreground of this picture I took in London in September I think, carrying a briefcase... You can see Robert Glenister over his right shoulder and Robert Vaughn is slightly cut off on the left.

I caught this completely by accident - in fact the whole thing caught me off guard, I had stood for a couple of minutes looking down the river before I even noticed there was a load of actors and crew standing right next to me.

MrsLucasNorth · 01/02/2011 22:24

I don't even think in terms of elderly until about 70 - perhaps it's because my parents were considered quite 'old' when they had me...?

TheSmallPrint · 01/02/2011 22:25

Who said pushing 40 was old ?Confused. I hope it's not!

TheSmallPrint · 01/02/2011 22:29

Ah so that's who you mean. I didn't know he was in Merlin-but then I don't watch it!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 01/02/2011 22:29

So come on Phoenix, let's have a look.

I loved Life on Mars shot on location in Milton-Northern, Techno, all those red brick buildings. Fabulous. Ashes to Ashes is on my (long) list.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 01/02/2011 22:30

Duh. I got the wrong Glenister. That, of course, is the Home Secretary whom Harry dispatched with the poisoned whisky.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 01/02/2011 22:30

I already posted the picture...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 01/02/2011 22:32

Oh sorry Phoenix, you had already posted

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 01/02/2011 22:33

Yes, Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes are on my wish list in my head - police drama with a 70s soundtrack, what's not to like? - as is John Simm in Crime and Punishment.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 01/02/2011 22:34

Yes, I think Adrian Lester was in the appalling Bonekickers with Julie Graham and Hugh Bonneville - I have no idea how that series got commissioned. It was truly awful.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 01/02/2011 22:37

::incredulous::

Bonekickers? Even the title makes me despair. Another merciful escape.

OP posts:
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 01/02/2011 22:38

Bonekickers - attempted to make archaeology exciting...but I find Time Team more interesting!

MrsLucasNorth · 01/02/2011 22:39

It was fairly entertaining crap if you didn't take it at all seriously. Kind of Indiana Jones meets The Da Vinci Code iirc.

My main gripe was that I'm not a big fan of Julie Graham (no am not jealous of her getting her hands on the peaches - have just always found her slightly irritating)

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 01/02/2011 22:41

Yes, but JG was particularly annoying in BK - I think that she shouted all the time, or something like that.

She was better in Survivors.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 01/02/2011 22:44

I thought archaeology was exciting anyway

I think Bonekickers was something I saw on one of my visits back home, one year. I wasn't too impressed.

I never was keen on Julie Graham, before I knew I had grounds Smile

Theresaholeinyourmind · 01/02/2011 23:33

So is everyone watching Bonekickers now on YT? just in case Grin
