Just in case we need new premises tonight... :)

Was it the news that Peter Jackson had had emergency surgery for a perforated ulcer and filming would be delayed a while

Theresaholeinyourmind · 28/01/2011 20:43

Oh this is wonderful, Phoenix, reminds me of CSI NY too, one of my favourite programs and cities!

Did you have some frites and mayo with your beer?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 21:04

No frites and mayo, unfortunately - is that traditional in Belgium? I wouldn't know, but perhaps you do...?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 28/01/2011 21:12

I believe it's traditional in Belgium, though I only heard it from friends who've been on day trips. I haven't been there myself! It sounds a bit difficult to digest, doesn't it?

TheSmallPrint · 28/01/2011 21:16

I think in Holland too T, I have had them in Amsterdam.

Yes a delay in filming, does that mean he's coming home?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 21:16

I think I would be able to manage it..

I'm watching some more Between the Sheets tonight as the DH has gone to the pub. It's all getting very emotional...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 28/01/2011 21:22

MrsLN will be interested to know whether your copy is okay. I believe his character is a bit of a shocker. So do I say enjoy or not? Confused

ISmall, I bet it means he's sitting there in NZ feeling a bit cheesed off.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 21:27

I've been sitting here, wondering where on earth I have seen this northern actor (not RA!!) and I just realised that it is Dean Andrews who was in Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes !!!! Wow - took me a while to work that one out...

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 21:29

My copy is fine - but I will have to be at the ready to switch it off!!! I'm really enjoying this drama!! And it's not so shocking as I was kind of expecting from the reviews I have read...

TheSmallPrint · 28/01/2011 21:31

Who is dean Andrews?

My friend has stolen my copy of N&S! I lent it to her but she won't give it back yet, she has been Armitaged!!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 28/01/2011 21:33

Gosh yes, I had to get the DVDs but I saw Life on Mars Waiting for the Ashes to Ashes boxset to go down in price a bit in the local shops.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 21:35

Dean Andrews played Ray in Ashes to Ashes and Life on Mars - here's a picture of him in Ashes.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 28/01/2011 21:35

He played Ray Carling, Small. Stealing a copy of N&S?? That is a serious crime. Better send RC and Gene Hunt to put the frighteners on her.
So what does she say about our Man?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 21:38

I gave my sister a copy of North and South several months ago, and she hasn't even watched it!!!! She is obsessed by Twilight!

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 21:43

Anyone watch Hustle here?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 28/01/2011 21:43

Twilight???
I just don't get Twilight though I know it's hugely popular. What is the appeal, can anyone explain? I've never even been tempted to buy one of the books and I am an voracious reader, will read labels on sauce bottles if short of the printed word.

That's how I learned French, off the HP bottle...

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 21:46

No, I don't get Twilight either, and I can't explain the appeal. I can't bear the idea of reading the books - one I day I may watch one of the movies (I believe there have been several, and possibly more to come). I would read them if.....

O M G - PEACHES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 28/01/2011 21:49
Blush
PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 21:51

....

Well, anyway...

As I was saying...

Well...

I would read the Twilight books if my daughter was older and wanted to read them herself, but I see no reason to do so otherwise.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 21:53

He is just so...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 28/01/2011 21:55

TBH I fancy the movies even less. But I don't get to see a lot of movies, I guess if I did I might be more inclined to have a look.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 21:57

Yes, you should watch them - they are a cultural phenomenon I suppose.

It all just seems like a Buffy rip off to me though - I was a big Buffy fan, back in the day....

Theresaholeinyourmind · 28/01/2011 22:00

I liked Buffy too, loved the high school atmosphere, loved the way she kicked ass. And Angel was quite cute. Or did you prefer Spike?

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 22:03

I liked Angel...I think I like them tall, dark and handsome...

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 28/01/2011 22:07

Spike is cute, I follow someone on Twitter who has a picture of Spike as their avatar - he's very naughty..
