Just in case we need new premises tonight... :)

OP posts:

Other newspapers websites are less user friendly and colourful hence my shameful choice.

I understand your girlie crush, I think she's super!

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 26/01/2011 23:05

She is utterly spiffing, isn't she?

::worries she has missed the Mallory Towers atmosphere by about 30 years::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/01/2011 23:08

I doubt we would have enjoyed all that hockey and stuff.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 26/01/2011 23:12

But that's what I like about Miranda (the telly version, I have no idea about the RL version). She seems like the sort of girl who would have deliberately taken 20 minutes to change into her lacrosse gear and then spent the rest of the session hiding behind a hedge. Just like me.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 26/01/2011 23:14

I played lacrosse at school (we called it lax) strange, violent game...I found it quite terrifying.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 26/01/2011 23:22

We never called it lax but it was always abbreviated to that on the noticeboard where the PE teacher posted the team lists.

::Realises this is beginning to sound far too Mallory Towers::

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/01/2011 23:22

Funny that, Techno, I knew girls like that at school too and one of them was me

Would they let children play with pointy bendy sticks and hard balls nowadays? You practically have to wear pads and a helmet for tiddlywinks, as far as I can make out.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/01/2011 23:25

LAX is an airport nowadays of course.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 26/01/2011 23:26

I think my school still plays it, but I gather that there's a lot more protective gear worn these days. As far as I can remember, the goalie used to get a Hannibal Lecter-like mask and shin pads, but on Monday morning you could tell who'd played for the school at the weekend because they had a fetching array of bruises. Ah, those were the days.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/01/2011 23:34

Sport.. this I do not like!

What was that rugger match from? Was it rugger? There were men running round in shorts and blue shirts anyway. Phoenix will know.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 26/01/2011 23:35

Are you thinking of the photo I posted a while back? It was from Google UF, I think.

::goes to rummage::

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 26/01/2011 23:37

Like this? But not actually this one, I think.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 26/01/2011 23:40

This sporting life

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/01/2011 23:42

I found one too! but I got distracted by all the other bits about him

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/01/2011 23:44

Couldn't help a fond smile at your pics, Techno. The one I saw wasn't nearly as cute.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 26/01/2011 23:48

If only I could remember important stuff as well as I remember pretty pictures.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 26/01/2011 23:54

But pretty pictures are good for the soul.

This was what I had found And some information about it too. they seem to have an exhaustive archive on just about everything.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 27/01/2011 00:01

Oh indeed they are. Vital, in fact. But sometimes it's more immediately useful to know where you've left the car keys than to remember what you saw in the Uffizi.

And so to bed. Sweet rugby-inspired dreams.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 27/01/2011 00:01

Well, that's it for me, I am falling asleep! Wishing you sweet playing field dreams as I climb the wooden hill

Theresaholeinyourmind · 27/01/2011 00:03

x posted. And great minds etc, re the dreams.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 27/01/2011 00:07

::Looks back at you::

Just saw a trailer for this series by Sebastian Faulks. ::Feels mildly guilty for dissing Birdsong and referring to the Bad Sex Award:: Looks like dear old Fitzwilliam will be appearing. No word of Mr Thornton though.

::sigh::

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 27/01/2011 00:19

Those rugger pics - oh my!

Re lacrosse injuries, I remember one time I was sitting by a pitch, just waiting for something, not even playing. I turned my head for some reason and a lacrosse ball hit me straight on the mouth at about 100 miles an hour. Now that really shocked me.

Night!

MrsLucasNorth · 27/01/2011 06:51

Rugby pics are from Ultimate Force which should be arriving at the safe house today for viewing Saturday night!

Rob Kazinsky (fellow dwarf) has just tweeted that he wishes he'd spent more time working out his lower body, so if all those at Hobbit boot camp are getting the same treatment imagine those thighs a year from.now! Grin Wink

Apparently filming has been delayed slightly though as Peter Jackson has had to have surgery for a perforated ulcer.

Was trying to post last night but internet on phone was playing up.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 27/01/2011 07:36

Thanks MrsLN, I'm following Rob K on Twitter but it's easy to miss his tweets especially with the time difference now. By the way, you can also friend Graham McTavish on FB - there's a link on his official website.

Don't get too excited about UF, I've only seen clips, but it certainly is Strike Back.

PhoenixRisingFromTheAshes · 27/01/2011 07:58

I mean UF is certainly NO Strike Back - duh!!
