Peaches I had the same thought. As someone notoriously tightlipped about his private life I wouldn't have thought you'd say something like that to a journalist if you were actually intending on going something about it.

Actually, I think I would like that even less. Even though I am allergic to Tolkein, I'd rather watch the whole ridiculous story unfold than just see a series of disjointed snippets, however aesthetically pleasing they might be.

I thought it might be fun to see a dwarf with a German accent, is all.

Seriously though, I sometimes enjoy a film just for the spectacle, if the story's no good. I felt that way about a lot of the Star Wars movies

I'm all for spectacle. After all, I've just spent an evening at the Moulin Rouge.
