Just in case no one opens a better one

Commiserations Twigs & Peaches.

I quite like Lee Mack but he's no substitute for 'da man'!

I feel as bit as if I've taken a deep breath over a hoover bag this morning, so still threatening a lurgy but holding out at the mo.

DH is v. poorly but more tummy/kidney pain. Has docs apt later and has taken day off work which is not like him at all.

PassTheTwiglets · 10/01/2011 09:35

Oh dear, hope all the ill Peaches and Norths feel better soon.

SpottyPeaches · 10/01/2011 10:02

you know what we need don't you?

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 10/01/2011 10:07

Did someone call for a doctor?

SpottyPeaches · 10/01/2011 10:39

Ta Techno!

Am I the only person on here that has never seent his message board?? I was checking out the FB link to see what it was all about and found these. They are very funny,I do hope he wrote them.

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 10/01/2011 11:03

I saw it some time ago - must have been by following a link here as I don't "do" the fan sites and forums. I'm dumbfounded again at the list of presents people have sent him.

I hope he wrote them, too. Some of them are funny and I'm willing to overlook some of the, ahem, innovative spelling and grammar.

SpottyPeaches · 10/01/2011 11:14

I can't believe people send him presents, unless they are 14? (apologies in advance incase anyone on here has sent anything!!) He does take the mickey out of his grammar and spelling in one post though which I found quite funny.

I found in the basement and despite the rude word I also found quite funny. Maybe it should remind us all? Grin

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 10/01/2011 11:40

No, I can't get my head around the present-sending either. And as for the vid. Good grief. It makes repeated use of that ripping his shirt off while he kisses her throat scene.

::goes weak at the knees::

::fans self::

::watches it again, just to be sure of what she's seen::

::goes out to the garden centre, to calm self::

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 10/01/2011 11:43

::now too weak to go to the garden centre::

SpottyPeaches · 10/01/2011 11:47

Grin are you tempted to watch SB yet Techno? He is very handsome despite moobs.

PassTheTwiglets · 10/01/2011 11:53

Oh Mr Porter, you really are very pretty indeed. And ooooohhhhh that throat-kissing...

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 10/01/2011 11:55

::weakly, from the chaise longue::

Oh, I'm very tempted. I have long had a, ahem, weakness for men in uniform, but that's more than half the problem. I was a forces' sweetheart for a long time and seeing Mr Porter in his uniform makes me remember things that are probably left undisturbed. Then there is the further problem of the amount of stuff arriving in this house in Amazon packaging and Daughter's propensity for telling anyone that Mummy is in love with Mr Armitage ...

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 10/01/2011 11:57

Right. Who dares wins.

::rallies self and sets off for garden centre::

::remembers the throat-kissing and has another funny turn but hopes the cold January air will help::

PassTheTwiglets · 10/01/2011 12:09

I do love that MissTechno calls him Mr Armitage - she's so polite. MissTwiglets would probably call him Poo Head. Those of you with children older than 7 - please tell me the 'poo is funny' stage ends at some point?

Techno, I take it you are a gardening lass then? I was just about to ask something in the gardening topic actually! What, if anything, should I be doing to my pathetic, 'won't let anything grow in it' veg patch soil now, to get it ready for spring? Now that the smallest Twiglet is going to nursery and I should have a bit more free time, I'm determined to do it properly and grow some veg that doesn't die within 12 minutes of being planted.

SpottyPeaches · 10/01/2011 12:09

well I still have my spare copy.....

LaVieEnTechnicolor · 10/01/2011 12:19

::still recovering on the chaise longue and watching that vid obsessively::

Well, MissTechno calls him by his full name but I try never to do so on here, because I don't want my every post to turn up on some random Google search. And I hate that fake-familiarity when people call him Richard or Mr Clooney George or whatever as if they really knew them. We don't know them. They largely exist in our heads. Oh dear.

I'm afraid I can't offer you much hope, Twiggy. Poo remains exceedingly funny, but not as funny as farts. It may have been a mistake to allow MissTechno to watch Monty Python. Still, always look on the bright side, eh?

Now. Veg plots. How big is it? Does it get any sun? What did you grow in it last year? The answer is probably to dig it over and improve the soil. Growing green manure is good, so is adding garden compost, but exactly how you improve the soil will depend on the answers to my previous questions - some veg won't grow well in soil that has been recently manured, for example.

PrairieOyster · 10/01/2011 12:37

I've read the messages and I don't really understand the presents either but I like the messages. I think this is why he set up the justgiving pages. What I find more worrying is reports that people send him letters which are several eg 10 pages long, even handed over in person. There's a debate which occasionally surfaces in some parts of Armitageworld on the nature of fandom - what it means to be a fan, when it is appropriate to try to meet him / speak to him. It's interesting. Unfortunately not all the stories are good but I think that it's a tiny minority who cross the line.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 10/01/2011 12:42

My word, you lot have been diligent little researchers this morning, while I have been lounging about with Lucas North, then taking a leisurely bath. Not with Mr North, more's the pity, but it was sorely needed after all the hot and steamy thoughts I'd been having. Sorry Guy, but you should have got here quicker, instead of dawdling off in Paris on the way to Limpopoland.

And having got all nice and clean and refreshed, I find there are steamy prospects on offer here too.

I was doing so well concentrating on work, then you go and mention my fave scene in Strikeback...will be lost for the rest of the afternoon now.

Glad its not just my DD that's obsessed with poo and fasting! Grin

BTW, don't we have an Academy birthday this week? Anyone up for a virtual fancy dress party tomorrow?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 10/01/2011 12:50

Oyster, curiosity and enthusiam are very understandable, and even gratitude too, but maybe one shouldn't lose sight of politeness and respect. That's just my personal take on the question, though.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorth · 10/01/2011 12:51

Poo and farting - not fasting!

SpottyPeaches · 10/01/2011 12:52

Whose birthday is it? Is it Twiglets?

MrsLucasNorth · 10/01/2011 12:54

I believe so - am missing our festive dress-ups. Seems it would be a good excuse for a virtual knees up!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 10/01/2011 12:55

MrsLN some people never grow out of their obsession with poo and farting, Most of comedy nowadays seems to be based on it

Re the party, I was just about to commit an unintentional double entendre, but carefully rephrasing that, I shall say that I am not busy tomorrow night!

OP posts:
Theresaholeinyourmind · 10/01/2011 13:33

Just read back what I said to Oyster and golly don't I sound po-faced. Blush
I suppose what I meant was I'm as giddy as anyone but would not like to be guilty of harassment.
