Welcome to our newest faculty building. Make yourselves comfortable and ignore the smell of paint. We cannot keep up with the demand for new premises.

So, let's be clear about this. You want Guy to dress up as the black swan? This, from the man that you thought was too macho to consent to hold your hand?

Theresahollyinyourmind · 18/12/2010 23:39

Well, I am somewhat ambivalent on the subject of His Gisborneship. The fancy dress is a little further into the realms of fantasy than the macho toss you a sneer and that's your lot attitude I imagined for our Grand Cultural Centre Gala.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 18/12/2010 23:44

Well, it could be a beautiful sight. (Just imagine this as a black swan).

Theresahollyinyourmind · 18/12/2010 23:51

Maybe i should clarify it was more angel than swan I was thinking of. Just the colouring reminded me of the Odette/Odile dichotomy Ballet? I'd be too scared of the Big Sword.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 18/12/2010 23:53

Ah. We have been at cross purposes.

I am pooped and am going to bed. Sweet fallen angel dreams to you.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 18/12/2010 23:56

. Sweet Marlborough Mill dreams to you. Perhaps Mr Thornton will take you to the ballet.

MrsLucasNorthPole · 19/12/2010 08:27

Noooooo!

Last 2 eps of BtS corrupted on.disc so will have to send back for replacement which will take forever!

LOTN already waiting for me at the library though Grin!

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 19/12/2010 11:42

What a delight that would be. An evening at the ballet with Mr Thornton. I am sure he would be an attentive companion and keep me well-supplied with chocolates and opera glasses (although managing opera glasses and my lorgnette could be tricky). In fact, I was planning to take Offspring to this during the holidays but Mr Thornton would be very welcome to join us.

Oh no, MrsLNP. Is the disc really corrupted or is the player self-censoring? Xmas Wink

Theresahollyinyourmind · 19/12/2010 11:49

Morning, all. Cinders looks like good fun, even without Mr Thornton, but I also like the look of the Shoes one. Fancy having to dance in four inch heels, though..

Yikes, MrsLNP, what rotten luck. Do you think you could sue Amazon for triggering PTSD in you?

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 19/12/2010 12:54

Yes, I like the look of Shoes too. The blurb suggests it may not be suitable for 'younger' children - would Offspring be corrupted by it? Then again, she is made of pretty robust stuff.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 19/12/2010 13:33

And it has platform boots too!
Judging from your Offspring's comments on things like Marian's punching power and shirts or the lack thereof, she would appear to be old and wise beyond her years.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 19/12/2010 13:41

That's exactly what worries me, Holly. It's fine (perhaps, maybe) to have a precocious child in academic matters, but is it good for her to be aware that ladies are susceptible to the sight of a muscular gentleman with his shirt off? I suppose (loosely speaking) it's part of the personal and social health syllabus!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 19/12/2010 14:04

I can remember nudging and winking with my pals at the sight of a shirtless gentleman on t'pictures well before I was ten. All in a quite academic sort of way.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 19/12/2010 14:17

You were obviously more alert than me. I think Great Gatsby at the age of 13 or so was what opened my eyes.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 19/12/2010 14:24

Well, I was a country girl. We used to call chesticles 'pikelets'

Twitter has decided, for reasons known only to itself, that I ought to follow SirGuyGisborne. But true to form, in order to do so, you need to beg.
A girl has her pride.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 19/12/2010 14:28

Pikelets?

So are you sure you're not going to end up begging?

Theresahollyinyourmind · 19/12/2010 14:37

Rude little girls, weren't we?

As for Sir GoG, if I knew it was the genuine article I would be down on my knees tout de suite. Might even throw in a bit of a grovel. But as it's just another smutty teenage wannabe, I think I can restrain myseelf.

Is there a TwitterMrThornton?

OP posts:
SnowyMoon · 19/12/2010 14:43

I am sure he wouldn't ask you to beg Holly.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 19/12/2010 14:45

Oh Lordy. It seems that there is. John123Thornton. But he too expects one to beg, which must surely prove that he is an impostor, because the real Mr Thornton would never be so ungallant towards a lady.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 19/12/2010 14:46

Perhaps he would if I asked nicely , Snowy Xmas Wink

OP posts:
SnowyMoon · 19/12/2010 14:50

I can't be drawn into twitter, I have too much of my life wasted on t'internet as it is.

I am off out to brave the snow soon. Heading a bit further north in the snow mobile. Wish me luck and keep the medical team on standby just in case.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 19/12/2010 14:50

And more at NorthSouth4, John2Thorn, JWThornton1 and Thorton_J. Clearly all impostors, especially the one who can't spell his own name.

The youth of today.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 19/12/2010 14:50

Of course Snowy, as Missy would agree, we are firmly against any Twitterbegging.

Re management of technology, I always feel quite proud of Guy as he seems to be able to read. I know John Marshall, his contemporary who was quite high up in court circles, and trained Richard and John, could not.

OP posts:
Theresahollyinyourmind · 19/12/2010 14:55

God luck, indeed, Snowy. But what if dear Doctor Crinkles needs rescuing himself? He dosan't look as if he's wrapped up very warm in that orange jumpsuit

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 19/12/2010 14:57

I agree that Twitter is a vortex into which too much time could easily be pulled. I follow people - only real people now, since I unfollowed the spooks - but seldom tweet.

Guy's being able to read is a rare achievement, I agree. He mentions his mother was French - do you think he can also speak the language of amour?

Good luck, Snowy! At least the doctor won't get lost in a snowdrift, in that eye-catching garb.
