Welcome to our newest faculty building. Make yourselves comfortable and ignore the smell of paint. We cannot keep up with the demand for new premises.

Good, Stripey! I thought I was being a little presumptuous in making all these plans on your behalf, especially as you've got the Academy Media Centre to oversee, too!

PassTheTwiglets · 15/12/2010 21:23

Flying in and out but just wanted to say that, Holly, I adored your writing about the nightingale with some Guy or other... beautiful!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 21:24

Now, other than ourselves I just can't think who we ought to invite...

I am having a frustrating YT moment, trying to get the original version of Bridge over Troubled Waters for no reason but that I love it. But of course the pesky Copyright ishoos raise their ugly head. So you'll have to find it yourself, if you want to.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 21:29

Well, I had a wee bit of inspiration

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 15/12/2010 21:30

No, it's very tricky to think of the guest list, isn't it? We'll have plenty of ladies but no gentlemen.

Holly - I'll leave you to locate BOTW. I've always found it vomtastically cheesy. Cecilia, on the other hand. Or almost anything by Paul Simon.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 21:36

I suppose it takes all sorts, Missy. I am often in a maudlin mood, as you know to your cost, so vomtastically cheesy suits me just fine. I even used to like Sound of Silence but have gone off that.

A shame the boys can't be at the opening, but I fear only one of them is much of a gentleman. Or two, if you count Harry.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 15/12/2010 21:41

Have you seen what's going on over here?

Now, I like Sounds of Silence and America - Be careful his bowtie is really a camera - but BOTW is just a tad too maudlin for me.

I was joking about the lack of gentlemen at the opening. I think they would all look very fine, although Guy may get nervous at the sight of the moving pictures and so you would have to hold his hand comfortingly.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 15/12/2010 21:42

And of course we would need the doctor at the opening, in case of any sort of medical emergency.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 21:51

Hmm, are we expected to rock up over there and cast our votes? I guess LeQueen was fighting our corner, though lightly oiled always seems like a problem to me. Squeeze too hard and you lose him out of the window.

Such a lovely big armful too.

It's only natural we should occasionally differ in our music choices , Missy, after all we have slightly different preferences in men

OP posts:
Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 21:56

Guy might think it was the slightest bit cissy to be seen holding hands with a lady so I shall have to subject him to a good few hours of telly and YT beforehand, so he can keep his manly cool. Look, that Lucas North looks just like you doesn't he?

I do hope though that he will leave his big sword at home.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 15/12/2010 22:01

Well, I think so, although it's more confessional than polling booth perhaps. I won't, though, as I can't say I fancy Mr Armitage as I hardly know anything about him (and I subscribe to the view that the brain is an erogenous zone) and it might muddy the waters if I were to declare a passion for a fictional man of 190 years of age.

I agree about the oiling. Besides, if one wanted a beauteous man oiled, surely one would do it oneself?

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 15/12/2010 22:05

The opening gala could, I guess, be full of firsts for Guy - trip in a limo (although he has been in the sheriff's swanky carriage), moving pictures, choc ice, soap, non-leather garments.

PrairieOyster · 15/12/2010 22:08

Hello again - here's a little something that got tweeter today - anyone else see it? 5th row in the middle. Aged about 21...

Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 22:17

I don't know about oiling, still. Too sticky. Back-scrubbing could be arranged however.

Now, I don't expect Mr Thornton has been in many limos or eaten many choc ices, so there's no need to poke fun at Guy's naivete on certain topics.

As for the leather, I said he could keep it, to give the Limpopian ladies a chance to see what a proper botty looks like.

OP posts:
Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 22:19

Yes, Oyster I saw it, though I can't think where. My mind is going, honestly..
Bless.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 15/12/2010 22:24

But I am not poking fun at Guy's naivete! I am trying to identify all the novel experiences which he might find disconcerting and where he might look to you as his dearest and most trusted friend for comfort and reassurance. You have rejected the suggestion that you might hold his hand, so perhaps a hot bath and back scrub would do better?

(And I agree about oiling. I'm not by any means recommending it, but this is one job which (if you want it done at all) I see no point in sub-contracting).

Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 22:31

My most abject apologies, Missy, for misinterpreting your good intentions. I do feel though that Guy is in no need of my help whatsoever. He will just tough it out as he always does.

OP posts:
MrsLucasNorthPole · 15/12/2010 22:32

You've been busy this evening!
As have I - 4 dozen fairy cakes and 2 slabs of rocky road all ready for work tomorrow and school on Friday. Even managed to listen to a bit more Venetia in between whisking. Now off for BtS in the bath session!

Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 22:36

Goodness, Mrs LNP, how industrious.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 15/12/2010 22:45

It's not about whether Guy needs your help, Holly. I've been trying to play cupid by throwing the pair of you together, with you in the role of his 21st century skills tutor.

Wow, MrsLNP! That's serious baking.

Xmas Wink
Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 22:50

Missy, Missy, you know Guy, how often can he be inveigled into showing a more vulnerable side? After all, the last time he did so, things didn't go his way.

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 15/12/2010 22:53

Maybe so, but he is not immune to the power of lurve. You just have to show him the way.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 22:56

Right, Missy. I see this is my mission, should I choose to accept it, and all that...

How do you rate this approach then

Okay, babes, whose turn is it to beg tonight?

OP posts:
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 15/12/2010 23:03

Yep, and this thread will self-destruct in 10 seconds. But you know , don't you?

And as for your script ...

Theresahollyinyourmind · 15/12/2010 23:11

Not subtle enough, I take it. Ah well, back to the drawing board.

I do like that vid, lots of jolly running about with guns and blue shirts.
