you know to be completely fair to AG, now that i am surrounded by old gimmers who actually remember who she was, i did like her as a presenter. she was beautiful but sarcastic and had a quick brain, which was rather refreshing really. in retrospect she was probably a little ahead of her time, you know. compared to paula yates, who kinda just flirted with them all, she was someone i rather liked.

Earlier in this thread I mentioned that DP and I had seen AG on TV recently (with the topless male builders)...well DP has just remembered what programme it was.........................Annabel Giles, former supermodel was last seen on TV on a programme called.........White Van Man.

Paula Yates was the perfect person for her time in the 80s but a good presenter she wasn't.

I bet if you re-watched The Tube back now you'd see that all she did was giggle and flirt her way through it. Her chemistry with Jules Holland was what made her seem better than she was I think although she definitely had a good brain and a quick wit. I have no idea how she put up with surly old Bob.

Yes, I think she was sadly a very textbook insecure person, she had a very difficult childhood and I think she then latched onto anyone who paid her any attention.

From what we know about her girls it thankfully seems that they are turning out OK so far with the usual teenage issues.

yeah remember reading bob's^ autobio (before Paula died) and thinking that he treated her appallingly, like a disposable groupie. SHe 'got' him in the end, but why the fcku she wanted him I don't know....... low self-esteem. I'm not slagging off bob necessarily but if paula had had self-esteem she wouldn't have wanted him.
