kaiserfootmuff · 09/12/2010 08:48

i think she was in jackie once or twice Grin

bruxeur · 09/12/2010 08:50

She was the model for the FA Cup iirc.

marriednotmulled · 09/12/2010 09:19

I must have been somewhere else back then, I only ever saw her in the MF ads. Hardly supermodel status Grin

noddyholder · 09/12/2010 09:23

She is my dps new bf She keeps coming into his work and he says she is v nice She was never a supermodel though She has that boden MC scraggy look not glamorous or attractive at all

scarletbegonia · 09/12/2010 09:25

She was vaugely well known in the 80s and was Midge Ure's grilfriend at one time iirc but she wasn't a model in the way we mean today.

Supermodels came much later, in the 80s just about anyone could have been in some kind of advert/music video or similar.

SpringHeeledJack · 09/12/2010 09:58

top model me arse

she was cute though. And a bit funny, iirc. Sort of a bit like Claudia Winkelman, I'm thinking

BelovedCunt · 09/12/2010 10:05

snigger @ being midge ure's girlfriend

hifi · 09/12/2010 10:19

but she was super before the supers.shes skint really.

MsFox · 09/12/2010 10:25

She submitted a recipe for our primary schools charity recipe book. Can't remember what it was though...

GreenButton · 09/12/2010 11:19

She used to be on Radio 4 on Loose Ends and randomly appeared on telly.

I think she was fairly famous as a model - but not quite as famous as say Fiona Fullerton was before her (anyone under 45 will not know who this is!)

ValiumShimmer · 12/12/2010 20:51

i never knew that. I read a book by her. light stuff.

NorbertDentressAngelOnTheTree · 12/12/2010 20:57

I read that bit about her being a top model too and thought "eh?!"

She was just an irritating squeaky presenter from what I remember.

She was on some really low rent Ch5(?) prog recently where she had some topless men in to tidy up her yard (sounds like a euphemism but its not, I promise Wink).

When I saw her on it I thought she seemed desperate in that "I used to be famous" sort of way

kittya · 13/12/2010 18:46

she was around circa Linda Evangelista and Cindy Crawford. She was never a famous model but was famous for going out with Midge Ure. Abit like Liz Hurley.

ValiumShimmer · 13/12/2010 19:57

yes, but I rememeber them!!

notnowbernard · 13/12/2010 19:59

I met her once and she behaved in an extremely rude way. I was quite shocked by it

c0rnsillky · 13/12/2010 20:01

don't remember her at all the blagger

AitchTwoOh · 13/12/2010 20:02

she was a good model, and popular, but there was no such thing as supermodelling in those days, the only way to get known was to be squired by a new romantic.

kittya · 13/12/2010 21:18

oh, there were supermodels in the 80's, thats when the term came out!! Look at Iman.

She was not a very successful model or very popular. Only for going out with im that sung Vienna

AitchTwoOh · 13/12/2010 21:23

there were no british supermodels, annabel giles pre-dated naomi campbell's elevation, i am sure of it, lord knows i have the back copies of Blitz to prove it.
annabel giles, yasmin le bon and the girl who crossed her eyes on the boots advert. since twiggy, they were IT in british modelling.

AitchTwoOh · 13/12/2010 21:25

and supermodel term definitely a 90s thing.

scarletbegonia · 13/12/2010 21:39

Iirc the first supermodel was Linda Evangalista. Wasn't the term invented for her?
