Welcome to the new common room! Grab yourself some Twiglets and a glass of Chateau Gisborne or some Polish Cordial and come on in - the water's lovely!

Well, that would go with the sniffing, Twiggy!

PassTheTwiglets · 09/12/2010 22:04

Have we any fans of "Into The Woods" here? I heart it.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 09/12/2010 22:11

Oooh. Now, I think I don't like Sondheim - a view I reached on the night The Poet bought us standing tickets for Sweeney Tood because he was so keen to see it - but perhaps I need to revise that hasty opinion.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 09/12/2010 22:12

To clarify things of course, we are thinking of starring Guy of Gisbourne in our panto here. Mr Thornton is welcome to understudy. Or Lucas.

Here's we could stage.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 09/12/2010 22:14

On second thoughts, maybe just the walk, the rest is a bit embarrassing nowadays.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 09/12/2010 22:15

Twiggy, that's what it looked like to me too, scratch, that's why i tried to whip in a correction. I should proof read better

PassTheTwiglets · 09/12/2010 22:18

Oh, Into The Woods is fab. The wolf is quite wonderful and the lyrics throughout are fantastic eg. Wolf singing about his meeting with Red Riding Hood: "there's no possible way/to describe what you feel/when you're talking to your meal".

Hmmm, must think of a role for Lucas...

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 09/12/2010 22:20

An excellent choice, Holly.

But I believe it's customary for the understudy to have some part in the performance. Perhaps Mr Thornton, who is himself quite nimble on his feet, could be cast in

Theresahollyinyourmind · 09/12/2010 22:21

The costume is a bit ooh, though surely, Twiggy. And I'm not talking the abs here.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 09/12/2010 22:29

That was lovely, Missy. Do you know I must be the only person on the planet that hasn't seen that movie? I noticed how PS doesn't stick his backside out when he dances like so many of the professional dancers on Strictly etc seem to do nowadays. I do hate that.
I am sure snake-hips Thornton would make a great job of it

PassTheTwiglets · 09/12/2010 22:35

Well I am the only person on the planet who doesn't like that movie. That and Shawshank Redemption. You may all disown me now.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 09/12/2010 22:38

Lucas could get together with some old colleagues and do

Theresahollyinyourmind · 09/12/2010 22:39

I have seen neither, Twigs, so you are okay with me [fgin]

Theresahollyinyourmind · 09/12/2010 22:39

oh poo Xmas Grin

PassTheTwiglets · 09/12/2010 22:44

It's behind you!

Xmas Wink
asmallbunchofmistletoe · 09/12/2010 22:47

You are not alone, Holly. I have never seen Dirty Dancing and know of it only by repute. It is sitting, thus far unwatched, in the pile of bargain dvds bought from Amazon which will eventually become my Ironing Viewing.

I quite liked the Shawshank Redemption, but it did go oooon a bit. I don't think we should let Lucas watch it, though.

I agree about Strictly. Hip action is all well and good very good actually but buttock-jutting is a different matter. Which reminds me, apropos of Twiggy's comment a while back, that Scott's dance on SCD on Saturday left me unmoved but Matt's Austin Powers had me grinning from ear to ear.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/12/2010 22:50

It's not only Mr Thornton who can do lovely head-cradling...

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 09/12/2010 22:51

Well really, Twiggy!

I suppose it was inevitable that any discussion of bottoms was going to end up in a derelict building in Dungeness.

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 09/12/2010 22:53

Yeah but Mr Thornton doesn't do bomb-planting, murder, treason and identity theft.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/12/2010 22:54

Who was discussing bottoms, Missy? I was merely reminding us all of pantomime vernacular :)

asmallbunchofmistletoe · 09/12/2010 22:58

Holly started it, Twiggy, by commending Patrick Swayze on his botty-posture.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 09/12/2010 23:01

Something happens to their legs, too, they go all banana-y and not attractive at all. They wanna watch some flamenco dancers I reckon, for the line.

Theresahollyinyourmind · 09/12/2010 23:03

Here I am onto legs, and you ladies are still on botties. Again. Have to laff at that screen shot you posted, Twigs, weren't they discreet, bless them.

PassTheTwiglets · 09/12/2010 23:05

Ah, gotcha, Missy!

Well I am off to bed. The smallest Twiglet has decided that 4.30am is a suitable waking hour so really ought to get some sleep. Busy day tomorrow but then DH is out later so am planning on Pt.4 of Clarissa. Incidentally, does RA do any other audio plays or are the rest just straight reads of the text?

PassTheTwiglets · 09/12/2010 23:06

Yes Holly, I thought that! Wish he'd taken his socks off first though :)
