Welcome to the new common room! Grab yourself some Twiglets and a glass of Chateau Gisborne or some Polish Cordial and come on in - the water's lovely!

I wasn't even sure what some of those other dramas were, to be honest. Although Colin Firth as Mr Darcy is not whollly repulsive.

I have never used the hatpin in anger. Yet. But if the defence of the cravat were at stake, then regnum defende and all that.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 06/12/2010 23:51

I was amused at the very amateur kiss Mr Darcy and Elizabeth exchanged, it looked authentic, somehow.

Your Mr T of course puts in a more polished performance

asmallbunchofflowers · 06/12/2010 23:53

Oh, Theresa. Some things can never be forgotten or surpassed. As I think you may agree.

asmallbunchofflowers · 06/12/2010 23:54

You're coming home with me?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 06/12/2010 23:55

A more accomplished

Warning: this vid contains cravat removal. Not for those of a delicate disposition

BodenBabe · 06/12/2010 23:56

I was going to link to that exact photo re. the luminescense (sp?) as that's the one which sprang to mind - but on close examination it wa a bit too open-pored to be perfect :) That scene was in the ep I watched tonight though and I found myself thinking "oh, so that's where that pic comes from!" Funny that most of my RA knowledge come from YT :)

Might change back to my new name tomorrow. Even though I don't actually like Twiglets :)

Really going now. Night, everyone! You too, Mr Armitage, dear - thanks for putting in an appearance

Unforgettable indeed. Like yesterday, for example, watching Spooks 8.5 and Lucas does the glove thing!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 06/12/2010 23:59

Night, Boden. Sweet Twiglet dreams. And I bet you do like that sort of Twiglets.

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 00:11

Theresa - I love the way that, to pull in the punters and for the avoidance of any doubt, that vid is entitled Colin Firth Strips Off. It reminds me of how, when I was looking for a saucy but non-porn picture of Toby Stephens, I found a forum on which somebody was drooling enthusing about a film in which (apparently) one can see him rolling around half-naked in the dirt.

'Tis true that Mr Darcy might not be in the premier league of kissers. But I think what makes the final scene of North and South so wibblicious is the way Mr Thornton cradles her little head in his huge, elegant hands and strokes her face with his thumb.

BodenTwiglets - Are you suggesting that The Man and his complexion are not Practically Perfect In Every Way?

Night all. I need a good night's sleep to recover from all the drinking festivities tonight.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 00:15

Good night, Flowers . A to send you to sleep.

Though it is a wee bit on the noisy side.

So, Mr Gisborne, just us chickens left...

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 00:25

Thank you, Theresa.

Well, if there's nobody here but you and the nightingales chickens, you can perhaps .

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 00:31
asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 00:32

Yes, every time I hear that song I notice further rudery.

A domani.

MrsLucasNorth · 07/12/2010 07:39

Just caught up on the rest of last might's 'do'!

I think the luminous skin in GH probably has a lot to do with the light reflecting off that orange jumpsuit!

I must admit I wasn't expecting a big proposal or anything at the end, but you'd think after what happened his reaction might have been a bit more passionate.

Agree it was nice to put that photo in context.Grin

BodenBabe · 07/12/2010 07:56

How are we all this morning then? 'Twas very fun last night. Thank you for the suggestion, MrsLN!

"But I think what makes the final scene of North and South so wibblicious is the way Mr Thornton cradles her little head in his huge, elegant hands and strokes her face with his thumb."

Oh Flowers, you are so right! I almost wish I hadn't seen The Kiss, so that it would be all the more delicious after the wait. Same with "look back at me". But I couldn't not look so there we are.

MrsLN,good point about the light reflection from the orange jumpsuit! Ha, I hadn't thought of that! He wasn't the most fleshed-out character, was he? Beyond pretty though.

Theresa, agreed, I certainly wouldn't say no to those Twiglets. >

Morning all.

Last night was a hoot. When's the next party? New Year? I'll keep my costume in the wardrobe, just in case.

Boden - You've got me thinking about Great Kisses in Art

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 11:17

Morning, all. I think what put paid to me once and for all, last night, was the sight of Cupid in black leather, with his little bow and arrer. Many, er, thanks, Flowers. And Lady Gaga of course.

As for great kisses in Art, fiddlesticks! Did Rodin include a wibble, I ask you?

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 11:43

That's the last time I post a link to that wanton.

Very difficult to sculpt a wibble, unless it's a kinetic sculpture.

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 12:00

Slightly tremulous

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 12:01

Especially with the mood lighting

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 12:10

Oh I dunno, Rodin could have put a wee crinkle in the upper lip.

Why do I feel so rough when the booze was only virtual, last night?

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 12:16

I was referring to the extreme rudery of the LG lyrics, some of which I only caught properly last night. From now on, I will limit myself to singing "Come into the garden, Maud" with Mr Thornton. So much more seemly.

And it's the emotional exhaustion, Theresa, of having so many vicarious experiences in quick succession. At least, that's what my alter ego friend says.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 12:18

Those were wonderful, Flowers. A wee little bit chocolate box, maybe, but awful pretty.

This was the guy who did the Three Graces, wasn't it?

asmallbunchofflowers · 07/12/2010 12:23

Yes, Canova especially is a bit Athena/chocolate box, but therefore also easy to find online.

Theresaholeinyourmind · 07/12/2010 12:23

I had to check out the lyrics on Google to make sure my ears weren't deceiving me. Maybe that late at night, it didn't matter. It just made me smile.
