And here are our study materials for the evening. Not sure if we've had them before, but have tried to find new ones - is getting trickier Grin!

Enjoy!

This just arrived in my Inbox and for some reason made me very happy... Grin

MrsLucasNorth · 17/11/2010 18:49

Oyster - you have just made my day! Grin

Evening fellow students, can I only watch strikeback on Skyplayer? The photos have made me want to watch Grin.

I just bought dvd for 8.99 from amazon or play -can't remember which.
Has extras too!

Think SB would only be on SB for a limited time after broadcast. They repeated it in August/September so probably not on there anymore.

I paid twice that for the DVD but I did get it on release so obviously it's much cheaper now.

PrairieOyster · 17/11/2010 19:30

I meant it would be on Skyplayer for limited time of course - duh!

StripeyMoon · 17/11/2010 20:08

Oh Sad don't want to pay that much . I guess I will have to watch it in tiny clips inthe basement.

PrairieOyster · 17/11/2010 20:19

You can probably acquire it in other ways cough if you are into that sort of thing...

StripeyMoon · 17/11/2010 20:31

Confused (and obviously thick)

Bodenbabe · 17/11/2010 20:37

Stripers, I was going to suggest that too - my problem with that though is that only DH knows how to do it and I daren't ask him :)

Btw, you can get The Golden Hour for about £3.50 including delivery here:

paging Dr Track, paging Dr Track...

Bodenbabe · 17/11/2010 20:41

Right, the kids are in bed, DH is out with the boys and it's just me, a large glass of Chardonnay and the good Doctor...

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/11/2010 20:59

We do like the Doctor don't we?

I see Flowers was bandying about a good old favourite earlier. But what are you lot up to, apart from a little A&E action?

Mrs LN, when are you going to do a dissertation on the dichotomy at the heart of the character of Lucas North? Or are you too busy with GTN still? Or someone with something else about Lucas. It would be nice to have a bit of balance here, far too much gets said about old Gizzy (most of it said by me)

Oyster you are bad <img loading="lazy" class="inline-flex mumsnet-emoji" alt="Grin" src="https://www.mumsnet.com/build/assets/grin-D7Eg_B6y.png"> BTW you wouldn't happen to have, er , military connections, would you?
PrairieOyster · 17/11/2010 21:10

Erm, you mean...Er...Army connections?

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/11/2010 21:12

Summat like dat.... Grin

Bodenbabe · 17/11/2010 21:16

ooooh we've just had the tickling scene!!!

PrairieOyster · 17/11/2010 21:18

Ok I'll be honest with you - I do have those connections x2 but I'm not much of a Regular - I prefer to hang out in C19..

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/11/2010 21:20

Lucky you, Boden. I am trawling the basement for something cheerful to share with you about Lucas and everything I find has me wanting to howl into my Polish Cordial.

There is always Benny Hill as a last resort

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/11/2010 21:27

So that's why you're so hot on Intelligence, Madame Military Attache.

Come on, come on, ladies, can I pronounce tonight Lucas Night or does everyone prefer a game of Doctors & Nurses Wink

40deniertights · 17/11/2010 21:27

Speaking of the dichotomy dissertation, I'm sure I've seen him say he likes characters with "dualism", which does make ring true when you have made extensive studies.

PrairieOyster · 17/11/2010 21:28

Have you seen this one?

Bodenbabe · 17/11/2010 21:30

Just finishing the episode then will do research. Lucas Night sounds like a great idea to me!!

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/11/2010 21:31

You are right, 40DT. he seems to have been at it again with John Porter. A quote from the Sky website

''Why Strike Back...
I wanted to take this character, which reads as an action hero, and turn him into something else. The challenge is to make him appealing to people who don't necessarily like this genre of film and television. Trying to mine something new from this and trying to put a human being inside this type of character is what attracted me to it.''

ASmallBunchofFlowers · 17/11/2010 21:43

Your wish is my command Theresa. Here is my contribution to the . It's not cheerful - is there enough cheerful Lucas material to make a vid, however short? - but it is Art and has some beautiful shots of his chiselled features.

StripeyMoon · 17/11/2010 21:44

I'm on the phone and can't open anything

Theresaholeinyourmind · 17/11/2010 21:45

I like that, Oyster. The speed and music make it less melancholy though the subject matter is still pretty dark. I don't expect you can get away from dark with Lucas.

I always liked that song too, though this version is new to me.
