My sibling is a celebrity AMA

I won’t be saying who they are.

I recently spoke to a friend about it who
had lots of questions which lead to an interesting conversation, things I’d never said or thought about before.

When I was younger I used to feel incredibly jealous of them and had a very short and unsuccessful attempt at creating my own fame.

Now I’m older with my own dc and have seen the effects up close I definitely think the negatives out way the positives and it’s not something I would ever want for my children.

FFS why is everyone obsessed with Katie sodding Price. I guess we are just waiting for her to topple over forwards and then bounce back up again like a weeble. Both physically and mentally? Seems she's got rid of that bald rat 'husband'. See...I can't even help myself! Lol.

There’s lots of questions I’m avoiding because there’s no interesting answers.

They are just yes or no questions so you can try and narrow down who it is which isn’t the point of my post.

My intention was to answer questions about my experience having a famous sibling, it’s not relevant who they are.

I’m sure Katie price has met more famous people than Simon Cowell and David Beckham. It’s not Katie price.

@zedtree would people know who you are? As in, have you ever been pictured or named in the press or on TV? Or has your sibling ever posted you publicly on their social media?

Do you feel that the Lad mag /Loaded culture in the 90’s made your sibling more vulnerable & therefore more easily exploited in their own relationships OP?

Hi OP. Thank you for doing this AMA which I think is a really interesting topic and not something that is often spoken about, i.e. the impact of having a celebrity sibling.

I have loads of questions if you’re happy to answer any of them:

• Does your sibling take priority in any ways in your wider family life? For example, if you’re planning a family get-together, is their availability considered more than others in the family? Are they seen as ‘more important’?

• Do you resent, for example, not being able to go for meal out with your sibling without gaining attention?

• What do people most misunderstand about your sibling’s life behind the scenes?

• Is it hard for your sibling to make genuine friends? Can they easily see when someone wants to be their friend for not genuine reasons?

• Do people treat you differently once they realise who your sibling is?

• What questions did your friend have that prompted you to do this AMA?

• What do you hope your sibling finds or achieves in the future, beyond fame?

I really hope people don’t ruin this interesting topic by just trying to ‘catch the OP out’ and find out who their sibling is.

Yes, or actually in relationships. "I've realised I've always been jealous of my celebrity sibling, but now - having talked to a friend about my sibling's life - i think it wouldn't be so great, But I feel the need to post about this. Does anyone have any thoughts, advice, insight?

I think if @zedtree you are willing it would be nice to have confirmation of if the sibling is male or female.

It doesn't really expose you or your sibling at all.

But it might stop the speculation of being Katie Price sister if the celebrity is your brother. It also makes it more interesting - their being a football player and you trying to break into womens football, or their being a comedian and you as a woman going into stand up comedy, or BBC News/Journalist and how you found it etc etc.

So if you feel career is too outing then don't. But I think saying Sister or Brother might help people understand the answers.

Very early on in the thread I suspected it was her. I remember KPs sister tried to get in to glamour modelling which fits with what OP said about trying to get in to the business.

Don’t ask me why that knowledge has stuck in my brain all these years as I’m not a particular KP fan but yeah..

And to all those posters saying how Katie Price will have met more famous people than David Beckham - that wasn’t the question OP was answering. OP was asked who the most famous person they (as in the OP) had met through their famous sibling.

OP you are posting about your relationship with a sibling. Yes your sexes are relevant, just as you realised it was relevant to answer the questions about the age gap. AMA about my life with my sibling other than the most basic of questions that is relevant to sibling dynamics 🙄

I don’t understand what you’re saying.

It's not an interesting topic because the OP refuses to give proper answers. I actually don't really believe that they have a famous sibling anyway, it's all so generic sounding. And when they said that the most famous person they met was Beckham it suggests that they were somewhere very very low down the food chain.

OP had a go and it wasn't for her. What can you have a go at and make it and be famous, or decide that it's not for you. Music no? Acting no? My question is "Were they on Big Brother or Love" Island"?

It was a pretty simple question! The vast majority of replies so far have been trying to work out who the celebrity is
