AMA

My sibling is a celebrity AMA

zedtree · Yesterday 17:20

I won’t be saying who they are.

I recently spoke to a friend about it who
had lots of questions which lead to an interesting conversation, things I’d never said or thought about before.

When I was younger I used to feel incredibly jealous of them and had a very short and unsuccessful attempt at creating my own fame.

Now I’m older with my own dc and have seen the effects up close I definitely think the negatives out way the positives and it’s not something I would ever want for my children.

AMA

I believe your famous sibling is someone like a TV or radio presenter if female Zoe Ball or Tess Daly. I think they both have sister or half sister.

Question: Does your famous sibling have a favourite food?

Tess would count in the used to be with another celeb but OP sounds like theres a bigger age gap with their sibling

What would they think of you doing an AMA?

Do their children go to private school? If so has thst helped to give them a more normal life?

Joliefolie · Yesterday 22:39

OP has been asked questions - that have been pointedly ignored - that could easily be answered without being outing. AMA is such rubbish. Ask me anything so long as the question fits with the narrative I want to project. No one has learned anything new or fascinating about what it means to have a famous sibling from this thread. The OP's narrative is: yes I was jealous when I was younger but now I'm older and have kids I understand that being a celebrity is not all that it's cracked up to be, wouldn't want it for myself. I mean, I'm sure that's a fascinating revelation for the OP but it's hardly interesting for anyone else.

garibaldibiscuit · Yesterday 22:39

Do you feel responsible for protecting and supporting your sibling, since they have been taken advantage of, and can't really access normal friendships? Or maybe it doesn't feel to you as if you're going above-and-beyond, even if you objectively are?

Zoe Ball's dad is quite famous though.

Also, I think Zoe seems very balanced and is protective of her privacy.

Isabubs25 · Yesterday 22:40

Katie Price? 🤔

Beryl92 · Yesterday 22:41

Is anyone else in the family famous? Or has become famous since? Do any of your niblings want to pursue careers in the public eye? What has been the absolute worse thing to happen as a consequence of fame?

zedtree · Yesterday 22:42

Sorry I am back with another few questions.

Do you ever see/read stories about them in the media/social media and know it is untrue, do you ever put the record straight or do you stay out of it? What about when they were newly famous and you were still at school, did any of the stories upset you or cause you issues?

Do your children know their aunt/uncle is famous and does that affect them?

edit for another question - were you ever bothered by the press/fans outside your home as a teenager, if so how did that affect you and did your parents do anything to mitigate that?

Edited

Yes and the record might be set straight through them but no I would never bother posting about it on my social media.

Yes, I would have things said and shown to me at school that caused issues even if they weren’t lies or upsetting it was annoying. My secondary school brought in a ban of reading magazines/newspapers in tutor group and although they didn’t say it was because of me I suspect it played a part.

It’s not been hidden but they’re probably too young for it to affect them really.

Probably but it’s because they are my sibling and I love them not because they’re famous. If and when my other non famous sibling has struggled with anything I would support and protect them to.

She's only just divorced from Vernon. In fact, they're still married, but separated. Not her. I would say Amanda Holden but she only has one sibling.

When you briefly tried to become famous yourself, were you trying to do something similar to your sibling or something completely different?

@zedtree I did not make any suggestions about who it was and asked several I think to be pertinent questions.

Are you going to answer them? It's seems this AMA is selective in that you'll answer multiple questions from one poster and completely blank others who are asking sensible questions.

This isn't really an AMA is it? Surely it's not outing to say whether your sibling is in music, acting or something else on TV?

My former neighbour is a TV presenter on regional TV. He has an older sister. Have you worked out who he is yet?

It’s a AMAA! Ask me almost anything

Question: Does your famous sibling have a favourite food?

I mean if we're playing 'guess who' her responses match very closely to Sophie Price... so much so that it feels very likely to be her or somebody impersonating her....

I don't know much about Tess Daly but I'm not aware of her or her kids being hounded to a great degree by tabloids which is definitely a picture that OP paints. Zoey Ball's son Woody was on the TV The Circle quite recently. Of course his private life is his own but he came across as incredibly down to earth and unaffected by his parent's fame and he had to reveal to the other players about his parents as they had no clue so this doesn't fit.

Katie Price's kids however have clearly had a very turbulent upbringing in the public eye. They are seem like beautiful and well mannered kids but are starting to open up themselves about the challenges of their childhood. OP also describes her sibling as 'stuck emotionally at the level they were when their fame started' which, love her or hate her, describes Katie to a tee.

It's because any helpful answer may provide clues as to who the person is. People are using LLMs to try and work out who it is (but can't seem to see past Katie Price...)!

I would expect OP knows better than us which facts might out them.

Knowing all that fame is, would your sibling choose to do it all again?

Is their mental health ok?

It isn't Katie. The age gap is too big and her current husband, while not 'famous' is constantly in the news.

LivelyGreyShark · Yesterday 22:54

Have you ever been worried about the impact on your sibling of being a celebrity? e.g. drink/drugs.

Tiredhotmess · Yesterday 22:56

Has your sibling ever taken part in a documentary about their life?

Why would the age gap be too big? OP hasn't specified what the age gap is but HAS talked of their sibling's fame being a real issue whilst she was at secondary school which is pretty much verbatim what Sophie Price has said in interviews.
