I won’t be saying who they are.

I recently spoke to a friend about it who
had lots of questions which lead to an interesting conversation, things I’d never said or thought about before.

When I was younger I used to feel incredibly jealous of them and had a very short and unsuccessful attempt at creating my own fame.

Now I’m older with my own dc and have seen the effects up close I definitely think the negatives out way the positives and it’s not something I would ever want for my children.

Fame and fortune was definitely a driver but they didn’t expect or plan for the level of fame they got. They enjoyed/enjoy their job and would still have without the fame side.

Talent and skill gets you nowhere unless you have the determination - and the luck to be in the right place at the right time. Sometimes you have to be in a lot of places a lot of times, and have the determination to keep going no matter what.

Why? She’s a singer that’s known globally, so doesn’t fit the description at all

Why does it matter?

They could be a TV presenter, sports personality or model (the OP only said not acting or music and not A list but UK famous).

Given charisma was a trait in becoming famous I’d consider it’s more likely to be a TV/radio presenter or similar.

I think it’s interesting regardless of who the person is and I understand the OP not wanting to disclose some details due to her sibling having children.

So my question would be OP how has their experience changed your opinion of fame and potentially that your children?

I ask as in the social media world it’s more apparent that lots of young people strive to be “known”.

Personally I can’t think of anything I’d dislike more in terms of feeling angst about going out and about and being hassled by people 😃.

I think they are horribly overpaid. That irks. I think having to be nice and cheery in public is brilliant.
