Don't worry, it doesn't sound like OP knows what she's talking about anyway, given she's doling out misinformation.

Well I think making a claim that women aren't at risk from 'trans women ' is something to be challenged given the number of sex crimes we do see publicised that they commit given their relatively small number in the general population.

Hereandthereandeverywhere · 16/02/2026 09:18

Sskka · 16/02/2026 09:09

Are you really unshockable?! There must be some things people get up to which are at least … surprising?

Nope. Various objects used as sex toys, people who have secret sex lives outside of their relationship, people in their 70s who attend sex partners, dark rooms, people who have partners into tbe triple digits over 3 months. Items lost inside vaginas. People get upto all sorts.

Oh yes, agreed! I meant that the previous commenter shouldn't worry about missing out on useful information from OP, because I'm not sure the information can be trusted.

And yes! For such a tiny fraction of a percentage of the population to be committing so many sex crimes is concerning.

I’ve just realised that one of the somewhat eye-brow raising sentences this OP has used is identical to one used by a poster with a different user name on another thread, trying to justify men getting their genitals out in women-only changing rooms.

There must be a script doing the rounds.

Oh, that's very interesting 👀

You can absolutely go away with this view. I wish you all the best but YOU are the problem. The problem with men is men. Not trans women. Show me any women who has felt intimated or has been assaulted by a trans woman compared tomorrow a cis man

There was actually a Trans woman put in a female prison who raped a woman. There was a Scots girl only 11. Went missing on her way home loads out looking for her as well as police. She managed to escape when he/she fell asleep. He had held her captive and SA'd her multiple times. What a creep so yes it does happen.

IceOnTheLake · 16/02/2026 09:26

Hereandthereandeverywhere · 16/02/2026 09:05

Absolutely. In clinic we ask everyone how they would like to be referred to at time of registration, and this is respected. I understand the word cis may trigger some, but its the term we use within sexual health.

So you know it's a word that's offensive to 'some' women, but, despite that, it's the default term used in sexual health. Do you not see how misogynistic that is?

Why not just use woman? I'd really like an answer to that.

This is a shockingly unprofessional attitude. You are not safe to treat women who have been attacked by transwomen. There are many such cases: Katie Dolatowski, Isla Bryson, Karen White, etc.

Mrsblobby88 · 16/02/2026 09:33

Can chlamydia make you infertile if it has been your system for only 2 weeks?

was cheated on my ex who gave me that. I found out pretty quickly as symptoms showed up fast, so I was treated quickly. Both tubes are blocked but I also have endo, so trying to figure out the cause of the blockage.

What is " AMA" ?

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 16/02/2026 09:34

@Sskka if I may....

I am actually not that bothered about the use of the term "cis"- I don't use it myself but wouldn't correct someone who used it about me.

But many women including me have a history of having our feelings and choices about our own bodies minimised and dismissed by HCPs.

I don't know about others but I am getting vibes of that kind from this OP, telling women to "go away" and dismissing factual histories of women who have been raped.

This is strongly reminding me of the male consultant who told me I was a "foolish girl" for wanting a home birth or another doctor who told me they "couldn't help me with" my history of SA.

I think that is in part what women here are reacting to, not just "the trans debate" although that is also important to many.

Flapjak · 16/02/2026 09:36

How you can work in a sexual health clinic and be completely blinkered to the harm that you see that men to do women and other men and accept the ideological position that any man can identify as a woman and this renders them less or no risk to women because they are magically women with a female brain, complex hormones and socialisaton

MightyDandelionEsq · 16/02/2026 09:36

I sense OP will have this thread deleted soon as she didn’t expect other women (which needs no additional ideological word) to fight back against the now outdated ideology of gender make believe.

Most women are done pandering to AGP men I’m afraid.

If anything you’d think she’d be MORE aware of the nefarious ways men would use to access, oppress and possibly hurt women.

We've seen 1 case of the fungal infection you've mentioned, the person had had high risk sex in South East Asia and is now totally fine. Syphilis is rising, not just amongst gbmsm (gay and bisexual men who have sex with men), we are seeing raising rates in middle aged heterosexual cis-women, same as with HIV

Just waiting for someone to come along and tell you off for sharing a patient's medical information on the internet even though it's entirely anonymous...

Do you provide medication for genital herpes outbreaks?
had it for 15 years, triggers are my period and stress..so I get outbreaks a lot!
Last year has been horrific with at least 1 outbreak a month,
GP won’t prescribe anything other than the acyclovir 3 x a day for 5 days when I get an outbreak! Can clinics provide longer term meds for suppression therapy?

You can buy it online and it's not too expensive. Bloody annoying how withholding the NHS is about it - they just don't seem to recognise what a fucker it is for some people. (Another aspect of the weirdly prim attitudes I've observed in sexual health services in the UK)

ChattyCatty25 · 16/02/2026 09:44

Hereandthereandeverywhere · 16/02/2026 09:07

Thank you for this. I'm purposefully not engaging with arguments.
I'm glad you found your sexual health clinic helpful. We are always non-judgmental and see all sorts of people. Nothing can shock us!

YOU started the argument by insulting a woman who finds “cis” offensive, and who doesn’t believe in gender ideology. She wasn’t even talking to you, and you started aggressively lecturing her, telling her to go away, calling her the problem. Here’s you:

“You can absolutely go away with this view. I wish you all the best but YOU are the problem. The problem with men is men. Not trans women. Show me any women who has felt intimated or has been assaulted by a trans woman compared tomorrow a cis man”

How do you have the gall to say you’re purposely not responding to any arguments? And to call yourself non-judgemental? Such sanctimonious hypocrisy.

You do realise your attitude is discriminatory? Belief - including non-belief in gender ideology - is a protected characteristic. Multiple lawsuits have been won by women who have been similarly mistreated for believing that transwomen are men. Which they are absolutely allowed to believe, under the Equality Act 2010.

Is there anything particularly strange that’s been found?

Designless · 16/02/2026 09:45

Actually I have a q for op - how often do you come across elderly people who have lost immune resistance to herpes and are having awful health consequences as a result?

OtterlyAstounding · 16/02/2026 09:45

It's not very informative if she's trying to say that sex workers are the safest people to have sex with in terms of STIs, and that PrEP is 100% effective. It's dangerous misinformation.

Bitsandbobs2 · 16/02/2026 09:46

Hereandthereandeverywhere · 15/02/2026 22:25

Yes!!! Very common

I used to work in a small 5* hotel, almost all guests were regulars - coming for business trips, then for a weekend with family, etc. I would say 99,9% rich men sleep with someone.

My "local" tut tutted and said you shouldn't do that as it's not good for you long term. So I just go to online pharmacies.

It’s madness! Considering the information on here could really protect women and girls.
