You can absolutely go away with this view. I wish you all the best but YOU are the problem. The problem with men is men. Not trans women. Show me any women who has felt intimated or has been assaulted by a trans woman compared tomorrow a cis man

Trans women are men so they are the problem.

It’s ridiculous that medical staff go along with this bollocks. Trans women criminality shows the same as male pattern does….nor surprising as they’re men. Look up the studies.

Ncforweird · 16/02/2026 02:23

Do vulva usually change as we age. I’m in my fifties and mine seems a lot more lumpy inside and I’m not sure if I should get it checked or not?
im not sexually active but I’m worried it could be cancerous.

Anndalouzier · 16/02/2026 02:35

Please don't call women cis women @@Hereandthereandeverywhere

canklesmctacotits · 16/02/2026 03:51

You’d think that a sexual health worker would know that a trans woman doesn’t suffer from women’s sexual health problems, rather some men’s issues and their own (significant and very real) trans-specific problems. I’m glad you’re supportive of the trans community and their health issues, OP, but trans women aren’t and will never be women. The closest they will ever get is trans woman. They are their own thing.

Trans women ARE men. If they weren't, they'd just be women, not 'trans women'. HTHs.

(Also, considering 'trans women' are a fraction of a percentage of the population, the number who have committed sex crimes against women and children is concerningly high.)

Anndalouzier · 16/02/2026 05:15

Yeah the one unifying factor all trans women have in common is.. they're all men!

Elektra1 · 16/02/2026 05:17

Stop trying to derail an interesting thread with a trans debate. There is a whole board for that.

Do you ever think it's kind of weird what a rigmarole it still is to get a checkup in that department? You'd think in 2026 a person could just pick up a kit no questions asked but it's always intense background checks and being made to feel like you're a bit odd for being a middle aged lady with a sex life

Exactly this! I went to a walk in clinic to get a merina removed because I was in pain and the GP wouldn't see me for weeks. The questions they asked! What a rigmarole.

Strawberrryfields · 16/02/2026 06:21

is the bush back? Or are most people hair free?

How common are piercings?

Has working there changed your attitude to sex either positively or negatively?

As parents, in what way and when do you think it’s best to educate children about safe sex? What’s the balance between scaring them but also being realistic about some of the dangers?

Data suggests that more than 60 percent of trans women in prison are there for rape and other sexual offences against women and children and this is from previous ministry of justice figures.

My friend works in sexual health and says that a lot of young women are having anal sex to preserve their virginity for marriage. Is that something you’re seeing?

Hereandthereandeverywhere · 16/02/2026 07:08

I won't get into a trans debate with anyone. I have my views and I can't be bothered to argue against them.

Erm...no, we're not really seeing that here. But I wonder if it depends on the demographic of the area. The clinic I work in is in a really liberal, white, area. It may be different in other parts of tbe country

The bush is back, to a certain extent. Less bald people, but still groomed. Piercings....maybe 2 a week.
Children, consent is super important. Mine are still a bit young, but they're aware of where I work and what I do. I often bring stuff home for various projects I'm doing, so there's usually condoms and stuff lying about. Hopefully that'll open up conversations. I think its less important to teach kids about tbe mechanics of sex and more important to teach them about consent, pleasure, and what a healthy relationship looks like

Don’t refer to women as cis then.

TheCriticalThinker · 16/02/2026 07:31

I'm very confused by the language in this thread? Are you saying the women you've treated who'd been sexually assaulted by trans women were not assaulted because they are lesbians? Genuinely don't understand sorry!

ACommonTreasuryForAll · 16/02/2026 07:34

From conversations I have had, it strikes me that young people are not necessarily very concerned about HIV anymore -they feel it can be treated with lifelong medication to a point of being undetectable and untransmissable. I know this is true, but I feel they are underestimating the reality of living with a health condition which requires careful management for life.
How do you think public health messaging around HIV can reflect the seriousness of infection without undoing all the good work being done to remove the stigma of a positive HIV status?

No. What I'm saying is i have met not a single women (or person, come to think of it) who has been sexually assaulted, or felt threatened by, a trans woman. But see at least 20 women a week who have experienced violence at the hands of someone assigned male at birth

I think it really depends. We see lots of HIV anxiety, across all ages, and we do lots of work to educate U=U. I also think for a lot of people, HIV isn't on their radar and they don't consider themselves at 'risk'. The government has recently changed the PrEP guidelines to now include anyone who requests it, so conversations are being had more about HIV transmission and prevention. Will be interesting to see the PrEP data next year

Yes!! We see all ages, from 13 to 90. Granted, not many from the top and bottom of the range, but all absolutely welcome without judgment. We quite like seeing older people who are still having sex....gives is hope for our own futures

Yes, it was a mention of availability of PrEP that sparked subsequent conversations about HIV. I was sexually active on a scene where HIV was a big feature in the late 80s and early 90s and watched people become sick. You're probably right, people don't perceive themselves as at risk. Not sure how awareness can be raised without rekindling fear. Efforts to educate seem a bit hit and miss in terms of people's take-home and how this translates to behaviour change.

How effective is PrEP? What risk is there to someone who is on it and having unprotected sex?

When taken correctly, PrEP is 100% effective in stopping HIV acquisition. In terms of 'risk' of someone who is taking it and having condomless sex, I dont understand what you mean. The side effects of PrEP are minimal. I guess, people on PrEP may be more likely to have condomless sex and have more partners, so may be at increased risk of other STIs.
