@Blimmingboobs I've got some zip up ones from George at Asda which don't have much of a band. £16 for a black/white 2 pack.

Leonoranobra · 01/11/2024 18:27

@3smallpups 60 isn't too old at all! Goodness no.

Consider that it will take years off you visually - because they become so small and perky, but they will also make you feel so much lighter making you feel younger..

It will give you a transformed view of yourself which will be transferred to all areas of your life.

If you can afford it, give yourself the gift of 2 new small pups 😉

starsinyourpies · 01/11/2024 21:35

Two weeks to go, I am so excited! Been reading the original thread and so much useful advice. Can't wait to burn the enormous bras.

Blimmingboobs · 01/11/2024 21:43

Breakthrough: Today I used 2 frozen corn-on-the-cobs as armpit ice packs. Awesome.

CornishYarg · 02/11/2024 11:29

I've been lurking on this and the earlier breast reduction threads and just want to say thanks to everyone who has shared their experiences. It really helped to convince me to go for it.

I had the operation just over 2 weeks ago. Still at the stingy phase but so far the recovery has been nowhere near as painful as I feared. I have the odd wobble but the posts on here reassured me to just trust the process so I keep telling myself that!

I was a 34KK and had 2.5kg removed. The permanent ache I had across my neck and shoulders has finally gone and I feel so delighted about that. My boobs are still at the hard, Barbie stage but I'm already really pleased with their much smaller size. Had a great moment today when I put my winter coat on and realised the zip is no longer straining over my bust 🙌

starsinyourpies · 02/11/2024 14:24

That is amazing @CornishYarg I really hope mine will help neck & back pain.

starsinyourpies · 02/11/2024 14:24

2.5kg!!!

Blimmingboobs · 02/11/2024 15:57

My back and shoulders already feel so much better too, I don’t think most people realise the discomfort that we’ve been in do they?

My reduction was 1.6kg on the left and 1.8kg on the right and I believe that’s about half a stone in old money? I was gobsmacked.

CornishYarg · 02/11/2024 16:59

starsinyourpies · 02/11/2024 14:24

2.5kg!!!

I know, right?! And 3.4kg @Blimmingboobs 😯

You're definitely right that while we try to explain, it's really hard for other people to appreciate the discomfort big boobs cause. But knowing the weight involved has brought it home to my family a bit.

starsinyourpies · 02/11/2024 20:01

I agree although friends are supportive I don't think people really understand what it is like.

Madagascary · 02/11/2024 21:21

Oh congrats @CornishYarg
inhad 2.5kg too! Couldn’t believe it.

you’re right it’s stingy. Keep applying the cream

Ladies!! Fab reading all your updates and hair washing lols .. honestly don't worry about it too much and get help or just stand in the shower making a half arsed effort with T-Rex arms like I did ...😂

It is hard to get people to understand just how difficult life with big boobs is .. and to be fair if it's not their experience then that's understandable. But it is ridiculously liberating and worth every penny and all the awkwardness and worry of the early months when you are recovering.

Also really delighted to hear that these threads have helped people - as they helped me loads and I'm super thankful to the original OP @Bigtitsbettyforgotherpassword & @Madagascary fro being here and showing the way. This really is such a life changing op and age shouldn't be a barrier in any way (I was 54). If you want it, don't wait!

Lemonadeintheshade · 03/11/2024 19:02

The threads have been really amazing. It’s great that everyone is so willing to share their experiences and that’s still happening all this time later.
I’m returning back to work tomorrow at 11 dpo. I feel absolutely fine in myself so definitely ready to go back. The thing that’s annoying me most at the moment is lots of tingling that sometimes feels like I need to itch but isn’t actually itchy. Think it’s nerves repairing from what I’ve read but finding it annoying. Anyone else experience this? And how long did it last?

CornishYarg · 03/11/2024 20:05

@Lemonadeintheshade Yes! I've been feeling really tingly and super-sensitive for the last couple of days. Particularly in the cleavage area above my boobs. Like you, I wondered if it was the nerve endings repairing. Plus I also thought the cleavage tingliness might be partly due to that area feeling the cold more now there's less flesh/fat there😄

Blimmingboobs · 04/11/2024 07:51

@Lemonadeintheshade blimey you’re going back to work! Good on ya. My armpits are still killing me. I deffo can’t drive, I can’t even lift the kettle (am using an old lady tea urn but loving it!).

Surgeon says possibly lymph nodes, doing their job.

I couldn’t have gotten this far without you ladies and cannot explain how well these comments, from complete strangers, have supported me.

Blimmingboobs · 04/11/2024 07:54

I had my first full frontal proper look yesterday and I can see why I am sore.

Looks like child of Barbie and Frankenstein.

Whilst my brain is happy to register the discomfort it just can’t get to grips with the fact that these are MY boobs!

Blimmingboobs · 04/11/2024 09:34

Also I think I’ve got a retail therapy issue…

Since I’ve been off work I have bought:

11 bras
6 dresses
5 tops
3 pairs of shoes
3 pairs of leggings
3 lipsticks
2 jackets
And a tea urn 🤦🏻‍♀️

Nothing particularly expensive, and some will get returned, but WTAF

Ha ha, love the random tea urn!

I've held off buying anything as my boobs currently look like Madonna's 90s cone bra would suit them best, so I want to let them settle down a bit first. But I'm definitely enjoying seeing how much better my existing clothes hang now. Although I'm generally living in hoodies currently so I haven't really experienced the full benefit of that yet.

Madagascary · 04/11/2024 16:16

Lol.

buying a dress in just your size is great

Lemonadeintheshade · 04/11/2024 16:58

Thanks @CornishYarg, you’re a bit ahead of me so sounds like I might have to put up with it a while longer!

Work was fine, kept thinking the last time I was here, I didn’t have pinky and perky with me 😂.

I recently lost two and a half stone so my reduction ended up being much more about the lift. I had a total of 1kg removed so I wonder if that’s made my recovery much easier. Poor you and your armpits @Blimmingboobs, sounds painful. Glad the frozen corn on the cobs are helping and the retail therapy.

Blimmingboobs · 05/11/2024 17:20

So, I sorted all of my BIG bras out.

Some to sell, some to donate and some to… burn!

I had myself a bra bonfire and I absolutely loved it! 🔥

Keep one of them. Three years on and I still randomly try it on and fill the cups with socks.

Madagascary · 06/11/2024 20:38

Sell them on vinted. I made loads

keep one

CornishYarg · 06/11/2024 20:55

Good advice @Bigtitsbettyforgotherpassword and @Madagascary. I definitely want to keep the bra I wore a lot in the past year or so as it was my least uncomfortable underwired bra, which isn't saying much. It will remind me how big I was and the discomfort I put up with, and therefore why the op has been worth every penny.

Lemonadeintheshade · 12/11/2024 18:52

@starsinyourpies only a few days to go, is that right? Hope you’re feeling ok. 3 weeks past op on Thursday for me and absolutely no regrets.

I had the tape stuff that was over all the glue and incisions removed by a nurse today. Was nervous that it would hurt or cause an incision to open or bleed but no problems at all. Everything looks so neat, really pleased.

@Blimmingboobs how are you doing? Hope the pain under your armpits has subsided and you’re generally feeling better in yourself.

@CornishYarg hope your recovery is going well too. Think your 2 weeks ahead of me so 5 wpo. Have you been told to apply anything to your wounds? I haven’t but know advice can vary from consultant to consultant.
