I've seen this done from parents of large families before and thought I could do mine as a child of one.

How many kids do you have yourself?

Newnamenewname109870 · 05/05/2023 18:00

Ooh! What number sibling are you?

pompypomppomp · 05/05/2023 18:01

Did you have a good childhood?

Justcallmebebes · 05/05/2023 18:02

Do you feel you've benefited from being part of a large family? Are you all close?

BlueDinoRawr · 05/05/2023 18:03

Were you well supported financially? I just can’t imagine being able to sustain that many children.

Oojamaflipp · 05/05/2023 18:03

Are/were your parents religious?

How much individual attention do you feel you got? Did you mind?

Did the older ones end up looking after the younger ones a lot?

Two. The sibling who has most has 3, some have none.

I have good memories at home. Obviously more siblings means more squabbles though we usually made up within minutes.

Are you all full siblings? Or are some half siblings?

staybyyou · 05/05/2023 18:07

Why did your parents have so many children? And did they work? If so what did they do?

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 05/05/2023 18:08

Do you have a relationship with all of them? I’m assuming some of them are quite a bit older than you.

I do feel I have benefited. We don't much extended family so this has made up for it. We all have 1 or 2 people within the family who we will see more of or feel closer to, but all still get together a few times a year and speak often on family group chat.

What are the good and bad ways?

Why did your parents have that many children? Have you asked them?

Financially... Looking back, I'm not sure how my parents managed. It is cheaper per head is you can bulk buy food and buy group packages for days out but I really don't think I could manage it myself!
I didn't ever feel we went without, and siblings I've spoken to about this agree. We went on every school trip, we had nice clothes, we ate very well, we had extra curriculars. My parents have always been very good with money, from young ages so that may have helped, but I still don't think it's something I could manage.

Full siblings.

My mum says it's because she wanted us to all always have somebody. If we have 1 sibling and fall out when our parents are dead, we'll have nobody. With so many siblings we will always have some family somewhere, even if just one or two.

How did you work out bedrooms between you?
Did some siblings move out earlier than they would have otherwise to get space?

And dad says it was just nice to have so many 🙄
Work- she techy things, but unfortunately had an accident, health became worse, had to stop working around age 50. He- head teacher.

Are your parents religious? Did your mum suffer any physical side effects of having laboured and birthed so many times?

I'm closer to some than others but speak to them all and we all meet up a few times a year.

Why did your parents have that many children? Have you asked them?

All of us have asked them at some point, because it is a bit crazy!
She said she wanted to make sure we all have somebody when they're dead. With so many of us, any fallouts will mean there will still usually be somebody.

He just said he likes having lots of children.

So what’s the age range now? There must be quite a lot between you?

Did they have family support eg grandparents babysitting?
