What do you want to know about Waitrose?

What chips would you recommend to go with my steak?

KangarooKenny · 18/09/2022 17:49

Nothing.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 18/09/2022 17:49

Are they good to work for? (I hope so)

Cook your own! They're the best 😁
But the Frites in the boxes down the chilled aisle are quite popular.

Yes I would say so. We get quite a lot of perks. They encourage you to be yourself. Depending on what section you work in you can have quite a lot of autonomy. They're giving us a cost of living payment in December and the base pay is going up next month (second time this year)

Beat me to it.

From what I've heard, it's likely to be making a come back pretty soon.

What’s the best time for reductions.

Pumperthepumper · 18/09/2022 17:54

Yeah, the coffee for me too. They’ve also stopped doing Kingdom chocolate in our local one, if you could sort that out too please.

viques · 18/09/2022 17:54

Yes to the coffee question ( I keep a travel mug in my car just in case).

Also what happened to fish Friday?

sittingonacornflake · 18/09/2022 17:54

Do you get much opportunity to experience working across other parts of the John Lewis partnership?

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 18/09/2022 17:54

Bruce a sage question, op, what wine would you suggest when upselling?

LateNightTalking · 18/09/2022 17:55

What's the most underrated product? Or a product staff would rather keep to themselves?

Pratners · 18/09/2022 17:56

What’s the best time for reductions.

This varies by store. They tend to do the final markdown 2 - 4 hours before closing.

What's so good about the free coffee? Everyone seems to really miss it is it a special blend or something? 🤔

I'd love to sort that out for you if I could, but we don't stock it at my branch.

We think coffee will be coming back soon as they've been making sure all the machines work recently.

Fish Friday has been back for a few weeks.

I don’t think they do it at all now. You used to get it at Whole Foods too but the only one in Scotland shut. It’s not the worst thing that’s ever happened to anyone but it’s definitely in the top five I’d say.

Yes if you look for the opportunities, they are there. There are often secondments come up in other Waitrose branches, John Lewis branches, head office (data analysis, buying, IT, marketing, etc), and distribution centres.

It’s just free. It’s what sets Waitrose apart from say, M&S.

😆 I don't drink so I don't know! I'd get one of our wine specialists to come and talk to you.

The pack of two cinnamon buns in the bread and cakes section! Also the cookies on patisserie!

Oh, it tastes better because it's free-got it.

@Sparklingbrook yep I think it's just because it's free, free tastes good apparently! 😁
