it is litterally 3 families the whole travelling community knows about them

It can't be three families. We have the same in Beds/Bucks - a huge permanent site. Our town suffers lots of theft from local shops, the farm next to the site, and there's lots of trouble in town with shoplifting, antisocial behaviour, etc. If it's only three families, they certanly get around...

TakeABreak2 · 11/07/2018 12:15

georgeousshazydays of summer i mean 3 travellers names by familys theres hundredss of them.... my 'family' name theres hundereds of us 4 differant breeds of us...

On documentaries I see travellers claiming various men to be “king of the gypsies”, is this a real thing? If so, how is it decided? By birth, are certain families seen as superior? Or by deed?

DieAntword · 11/07/2018 12:20

How did Irish Travellers start travelling back in Ireland? Like hundreds of years ago or whenever?

AlonsoTigerHeart · 11/07/2018 12:21

You want others to understand notacooldad but you font seem to understand the op isn’t responsible for the actions of people she doesnt know.

You are being a complete arsehole banding on and on and on.

AlonsoTigerHeart · 11/07/2018 12:21

Banging* obvs

DieAntword · 11/07/2018 12:23

@notacooldad When I lived in Moss Side in Manchester I could reel off a very long list of the abuse I experienced at the hands of the black community, but I still wouldn't on meeting a black person go on at them about it as if they were somehow responsible and not the specific people involved.

TakeABreak2 · 11/07/2018 12:23

At the supermarket car parks in north London, it is the same group who come every year, tour the supermarkets in the same order moving every 2 weeks until they eventually leave. So it could possibly be the one family.

OP, we have a large amount of travellers descend on us every year. I have seen;

That awful situation with the kids and baby being badly hurt because they were playing in a car park
3 semi naked men washing in a car park with a shared bottle of water
Grown adults pooing in Ikea car park (I don’t even understand that one, Ikea has toilets)
Baby’s being washed in Nando’s toilets

I know it’s not you personally as you’ve said you don’t pull up in car parks but I don’t mean to sound rude or nasty to people that do but honestly how can anyone enjoy a life like that?

blueshoes · 11/07/2018 12:31

OP, was the burglar who got killed by a pensioner in Hither Green, London from one of those 3 troublesome families you mention.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-43774803

What do you or if you can, your community, think about those travellers and their behaviour in the Hither Green neighbourhood.

TakeABreak2 · 11/07/2018 12:34

blueshoes
no hes not one of them - i havent heard there second names beforeHmm

OP posts:
notacooldad · 11/07/2018 12:35

Sorry OP it may be your thread but you can't stop people commenting just because you don't want them to.

I was responding to some comments directed at me.
Nobody said it was your fault.. I didn't say that I didn't like every traveller either but as a collective I don't like it because of the aftermath.

blueshoes · 11/07/2018 12:36

Not sure I understand your response. If you don't know their second names (fair enough), how do you know the burglar is not one of them?

TakeABreak2 · 11/07/2018 12:36

windbeneatybingowings
but semi naked i suspect you mean no top on with either shorts/jogging bottoms because thats all i ever seen - they wouldnt come out in there boxers because of there respect to traveller women they wouldnt be 'allowed' as such and washing out of a water gallon sounds correct - we have no water facillities when travelling i dont understand the car park thing ? maybe they were just dirty pigs Envy

OP posts:
TakeABreak2 · 11/07/2018 12:38

like i said i cant answer for everyone .... but travellers have very big famillies and everyone in the travelling community knows everyones second names ... maybe his mother married a non traveller thats why i dont know his surname?

OP posts:
TakeABreak2 · 11/07/2018 12:39

notacooldad
but this is a AMA thread your litterally coming on here to take your anger/upset at me because i am a traveller because of your experiences - your not actually asking anything...

OP posts:
notacooldad · 11/07/2018 12:40

*we have no water facillities when travelling i dont understand the car park thing ?
I may have missed it but OP but do you use the permanent sites. I was involved in setting up a site in our town about 18 years ago with reasonable facilities.
