This is going to sound really stupid but I used to work in a shop very popular with travellers. I had my regular ladies who used to come in who I would chat to. All of them without fail used to say I must have some traveller blood (I do distantly) as they could tell just by looking at me. Is this something traveller people can tell or were they just pulling my leg? I know it sounds really stupid! Sorry haha Blush

Summersun111 · 10/07/2018 23:03

How do you make money? Do you have a job?

thought of another one - Is there traditional Traveller food/recipes?

SubtitlesOn · 10/07/2018 23:16

Thanks for answer

Who looks after the families with a disabled father, who can't mend drives or paint buildings etc?

Do his brothers help support his family too?

SPOFS · 10/07/2018 23:17

@notacooldad

Your post is completely out of order! Angry

The OP has said several times that she does not engage in criminal behavior and does not support those who do.

TakeABreak2 · 10/07/2018 23:18

Wherismymind · 10/07/2018 23:28

Is it true that its acceptable for traveller men to hit their wives?

Do you not feel envious of the freedom non traveller women have.

AWomanIsAnAdultHumanFemale · 10/07/2018 23:30

Next time notacooldad posts a thread I’m going to bombard him with news stories of vile things some men have done to people.

EvilMorty · 10/07/2018 23:35

Are you scared of snakes?

Are you afraid of witchcraft?

SettledTraveller · 10/07/2018 23:56

Called you last night and Dhala - Irish Travellers are a legally recognised ethnic group. You could 'travel' yourself but you wouldn't become that ethnicity.

I've had people tell me I'm not a traveller because I'm 'settled' and went to university but you cannot be educated out of your ethnicity, your heritage, culturural traditions, norms and values remain the same whether your an educated and/or settled or actively travelling.

TakeABreak2 · 11/07/2018 00:06

whereismymind not true although like everywhere else dv does happn
no i have freedom too...

ginghamstarfish · 11/07/2018 00:07

Do you claim benefits? (Travellers in general I mean)

user1457017537 · 11/07/2018 00:09

Annewiddescombeshandbag Smile I was going to say the same thing! My nan was Romany gypsy I am always recognised by travellers and Romanies as are my two sons lol. It is in the blood I can’t drink tea or coffee out of anything but fine china! I’m laughing cos my downstairs toilet is filled with cleaning stuff and soap powder, I have a caravan which is where I truly relax.
