UPPAbaby’s newly released double buggy, the Minu Duo has been designed for parents who need a lightweight (it’s only 12kg), compact, and easy-to-manoeuvre double buggy without sacrificing comfort or quality. It’s specifically made for families with two young children, whether twins or siblings close in age, offering a side-by-side design that remains practical for everyday use, (because who needs to struggle with a cumbersome stroller whilst out and about?)

This new model is designed to be lightweight, compact, and easy to manoeuvre, making it perfect for city life, travel and quick trips out and about. It’s great for parents who need a double buggy that doesn’t feel bulky but still offers a smooth ride, roomy seats and the high-quality design UPPAbaby is known for.

New twin mum and parent tester, Helina put the Minu Duo to the test for eight weeks with her partner and newborn twins. She shares, "The Minu Duo is incredibly easy to set up and use. From a semi-folded position, you simply unclip the side latch with one click, pull up the handlebar, and the stroller is ready to go. The front wheels slot effortlessly into place - no tools required.

With twins, a quick and hassle-free setup is essential, and this stroller delivers. We love how lightweight it is, making it easy to load into the car or store at home. Plus, its compact size fits seamlessly through shop doors, so there’s no struggling with awkward entrances and exits."

Weighing just12.5kg, it’s also lighter than some other double buggies including the Mountain Buggy Duet V3.2 and Bugaboo Donkey 5 Duo making it even easier to take on public transport.

How we tested the UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy

  • Two months of using the UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy multiple times a week

  • Used for hospital visits, on dog walks to the park and along city streets

  • Used on days out for short and long distances

  • Tested with newborn twins

Helina says, “The Minu Duo has been our go-to double buggy and we've loved putting it to the test because it’s so lightweight and easy to use. However, it does feel a bit wobbly on rougher terrain, so it may not handle heavy trail use. It’s perfect for town and city life, coping well with uneven pavements, but it struggles on pebbled paths. That said, it glides effortlessly on smooth tarmac and well-maintained trails.”

Once testing was complete, we scored the UPPAbaby Minu Duo stroller on the following criteria: performance, quality and durability, ease of use, value for money, safety and stability, ease of folding and unfolding, comfort, and adjustability and storage. This then translated to a total score out of 100 and an overall star rating.

UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy: what’s in the box?

  • UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy frame

  • 2 individual sun canopies

  • 2 adjustable footrests

  • Rain cover

Additional UPPAbaby accessories including the changing backpack, CozyGanoosh (footmuff), and carry-all parent organiser. are available to purchase separately.

How easy is the UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy to assemble?

Very! Helina says, “Assembling the Minu Duo is really simple, thankfully. The fabric inserts attach easily using pop buttons and zips, making setup quick and simple. Most of the assembly involves zipping and popping the fabrics into place, so there's no need for complicated tools or extra effort.

Setting up the Minu Duo is straightforward:

  • Unfold the frame – Remove the stroller from the box and unfold the frame by releasing the latch on the side.

  • Attach the wheels – Click the rear wheels into place by pushing them onto the rear axle until they lock. Do the same for the front wheels, making sure they are securely attached.

  • Install the canopies – Slide the canopies into their designated slots on each seat until they click in. The canopies come with a zipper extension for extra coverage.

  • Secure the seats – The seats should already be attached, but adjust the five-point, no-rethread harness to ensure a snug fit for your child. The seats have multiple recline positions, which can be adjusted using the lever behind each seat.

  • Attach accessories – If you’re using additional accessories like the rain cover, bumper bar, or car seat adapters, install them as per the included instructions.

How does the UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy look?

The Minu Duo has a sleek, subtle and stylish design that feels compact rather than bulky. As Helina puts it, “We don’t feel like we have this huge cumbersome stroller” - a big plus for parents who want a double buggy that’s easy to manage. At just 70cm wide, it’s surprisingly compact for a side-by-side model. It also fits easily through a standard 73cm doorway, making it practical for everyday use.

The Minu Duo features a plastic handlebar with a fixed height and two equal-sized seats, suitable from birth through the toddler years. Each seat has an independent footrest that can be adjusted with one hand, adding extra comfort and convenience.

One standout feature is how quickly and easily it folds with just one hand, a true game changer for parents juggling kids and gear. Plus, when folded, it stands upright, making it super easy to store.

How comfortable is the UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy?

The UPPAbaby Minu Duo is surprisingly comfy for a side-by-side double buggy. As Helina says, “The fluffy footmuffs are really nice and have been great this winter for my twins.” The padding makes it cosy, especially in colder weather, though in the heat, some parents might prefer a more breathable fabric.

The seats have multiple recline positions that can be adjusted easily with one hand using a lever behind the seat, which is a convenient feature for parents on the go.

For safety, the buggy features a five-point, no-rethread harness, designed to fit securely on narrow shoulders while widening as children grow, making it more adaptable than some other harnesses.

Each of the two seats has independent footrests that can be adjusted with one hand, along with integrated foot barriers to help keep little feet in place.

The canopies offer good coverage, and there’s a zip that can be opened to extend them further, providing extra shade when needed. Another thoughtful feature is the peekaboo window behind each seat, which can be folded up for better airflow—great for warmer days when extra ventilation is needed. Plus, the built-in magnets keep them securely in place, so there’s no flapping around on windy days. However, as Helina points out, “the winter sun is quite low,” so in certain conditions, additional sun protection might still be useful.

What is the UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy like to use day to day?

The Minu Duo is a great double buggy for daily use, making outings with multiple children much easier. As Helina notes, it’s lightweight and easy to steer, which means you can push and manoeuvre it with very little effort - even with a load of shopping in the storage basket underneath. It feels responsive and smooth, almost like it glides along, which makes it a pleasure to use day to day.

The storage basket is another practical feature. It has a 11.3kg weight limit and is big enough to carry essentials like blankets, a flat changing bag, snacks, water bottles, and even a bit of shopping from the local supermarket. However, Helina pointed out that the rain cover only protects the top of the stroller, so the newborn inserts and legs remain exposed. It would be a nice addition if the rain cover extended further to protect the whole stroller.

Despite being a double buggy, the Minu Duo doesn’t feel wide at all. Helina loves how it fits through shop doors and around the house without any trouble. It doesn’t feel bulky, and it’s easy to navigate through tight spaces. It’s also great for public transport—light enough to lift onto buses or trains, and easy to tip back if needed.

That said, while it has built-in suspension, the wheels aren't ideal for all types of outdoor terrain. Helina found that the stroller had too much wobble over undulating terrain and gravel roads, so it’s definitely more suited for town or city use rather than rugged outdoor environments.

A nice bonus feature is the hidden pocket for an Air Tag tracker, which lets you track the stroller in places like airports, amusement parks, or playgrounds.

Does the UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy have good safety features?

Yes! The Minu Duo has some great safety features which work well for both newborns and toddlers alike.

Helina found that the five-point, no-rethread harness works well for smaller babies and is easy to adjust for a secure fit. During testing, she liked that her children’s legs and arms were always secured in the seat and she felt that they were safe during walks.

The three-point buckle system is also handy—it allows each side to click in separately rather than needing both at once, which makes fastening the harness a bit easier.

The brake system is another positive feature. Helina noted that it’s “easy to use and requires two separate actions to fully disengage,” which adds an extra layer of security. This design reduces the chance of accidentally releasing the brake, making it reassuring when stopping on slopes or uneven ground.

The seats are plush and secure enough for young babies without needing separate carry cots, thanks to the seat’s padding, plus the UPPAbaby CozyGanoosh footmuff that’s made with a fleece lining and adjustable hood (sold separately).

This makes it easier to use straight from birth without extra attachments, although the Minu Duo is travel system compatible as UPPAbaby offers two types of car seat adapters: one set for the UPPAbaby Mesa infant car seat models and another set for Nuna, Maxi-Cosi or Cybex car seats.

When talking about the seats and CozyGanoosh, Helina says, “The well-padded seats and fleece-lined footmuff is really nice and has offered plenty of warmth and protection this winter for my twins.” The adjustable recline allows the seats to lie fully flat when needed and the five-point harness keeps children securely fastened.

UPPAbaby Minu Duo folded

How easy is it to fold and unfold the UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy?

One of the standout features of the Minu Duo is how easy it is to fold and unfold, it’s a one-hand, one-step fold with an integrated crossbar carrying handle, making it incredibly convenient for parents on the go.

Helina found the process simple and intuitive, noting that “It’s one of the best features of the stroller.” To fold it, you just press the button and slide, and the stroller collapses smoothly into a compact, upright position. It also stands on its own when folded, which is great for easy storage at home or when out and about.

Unfolding is just as easy - a quick unclick, and the frame expands effortlessly. Helina mentioned that assembly was straightforward when following the instructions, making it easy to get the stroller ready for use straight out of the box.

Another big plus is how well the Minu Duo fits into a car. Helina drives a Skoda Superb estate and was surprised by how compact the buggy is for a side-by-side model. She says, “It takes up only half the space in the back of the car, even with the dog in there too!” Compared to bulkier double strollers, the Minu Duo’s narrower 70cm width makes it much easier to store and transport.

How does the UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy compare to other double buggies?

When looking at similar side-by-side strollers, the Minu Duo stands out for its compact width of 70cm, making it much more manoeuvrable than bulkier models like the Joie Aire Twin that's 7cm wider. This means it fits through standard doorways and store aisles more easily, which is a major plus for city dwellers.

In contrast, all-terrain double buggies like the Mountain Buggy Duet (which is slightly narrower at 65cm but bulkier in design) and the Cybex e-Gazelle S are better suited for rougher terrain, whereas the Minu Duo is more of an urban stroller with lightweight, smooth manoeuvrability best suited for pavements and indoor spaces.

Is the UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy easy to clean?

Yes, very easy! Helina notes, “We spilled some milk into the newborn attachments, and they went straight into the washing machine. I was able to wipe down the rest of the stroller with a sponge and soap, and it dried pretty quickly.”

The fabric components are removable and machine washable, which is a huge plus for dealing with spills, crumbs, and general wear and tear. For quick clean-ups, a simple wipe-down with a damp cloth and mild soap works well. The canopies and seat liners can also be spot cleaned as needed.

The frame and wheels are easy to maintain too - just wipe down with a damp cloth to remove dirt, dust, or mud after outings. Since the wheels aren’t all-terrain, they can pick up debris, so giving them an occasional clean will help to keep the stroller running smoothly.

Is the UPPAbaby Minu Duo buggy good value for money?

At £599, Helina and her partner feel that the UPPAbaby Minu Duo is competitively priced compared to other side-by-side double buggies on the market, especially considering its versatility and longevity.

Designed to grow with your family, it’s suitable from birth without the need for additional carrycots and can accommodate toddlers up to 22kg per seat, making it a long-term investment for parents of two young children.

One of the biggest advantages of the Minu Duo is its large storage basket, which has an 11.3kg weight limit—plenty of space for shopping, changing bags, snacks, and essentials. It’s also car seat compatible, adding extra flexibility for families who may want to attach an infant car seat instead of using the standard seat.

Additional costs to consider

Although the Minu Duo doesn’t include a carrycot, the CozyGanoosh footmuff provides extra padding and warmth at a reasonable price of around £130. While it may seem like a significant cost, it can actually be a more budget-friendly alternative to buying a separate carrycot, offering comfort, security, and insulation for newborns and younger babies without the need for an additional bassinet.

Overall verdict

Helina feels that the Minu Duo is a solid investment for parents looking for a lightweight, easy-to-manoeuvre double buggy that works well for city life. It offers spacious seats, great storage and long-term usability, all at a price point that’s competitive with other premium double strollers. The only downside is its limited off-road capability, but if you primarily use it on smooth pavements, it delivers great value for money.
