What's the Miele WEG665 Freestanding Washing Machine like to use day-to-day?
In terms of operation, the Miele WEG665 is fairly straightforward to use, but we haven't fully explored its wide range of settings. While we haven't found the need to delve into every cycle option, you need to understand what all the settings and programmes do to make the most out of this machine's capabilities.
One minor annoyance we've encountered is the lack of a touchscreen lock. Our toddler has a habit of running over and accidentally changing settings or even turning the machine on. It would be a welcome improvement if Miele could add a feature to lock the touchscreen to prevent unintended changes.
The Miele WEG665 also comes with a companion app, but we found it somewhat challenging to connect properly with the machine at the start. It's possible that our difficulties were due to user error, but it's worth noting that the app may not be the most user-friendly for those that aren’t as tech savvy.
We like that the machine comes with an auto-dose feature, which automatically dispenses the right amount of laundry detergent for your load at the touch of a button. But one thing to mention is that the machine strongly encourages the use of Miele's TwinDos products or Miele pods and regularly issues reminders, which can be irritating if, like us, you prefer using other laundry capsules and fabric softeners.
Is it noisy?
In terms of noise, this washing machine performs very well, with an ‘A’ class rating and Quiet Mark certification. It has a noise reading of 68dB for a spin cycle, so it’s one of the quietest machines I’ve come across.
It's generally quiet during operation and doesn't disrupt our daily routines. The only exception is the loud beep it emits when the cycle finishes, which lasts for just a second so it's not overly intrusive, although it did once wake my baby. Additionally, the machine offers a quiet setting, although it's not compatible with all wash programmes.

Is the Miele WEG665 Freestanding Washing Machine good value for money?
For app compatibility and an impressive array of features, the Miele WEG665 generally offers good value for money.
It’s one of the more expensive washing machines on the market though, so you’d need to be sure that you’d get the most out of the app and programmes for it to be worth the hefty price tag.
When my family and I were in the market for a new washing machine, Miele's reputation for durability was a significant factor in our decision as we wanted a machine that would serve us well for many years to come.
The Miele WEG665 Freestanding Washing Machine’s overwhelmingly positive online reviews and reliability sealed the deal for us, which is why we ultimately decided to invest.
