A woman pushes the brand new Dyson WashG1™ wet floor cleaner in her home

Ask anyone if I’m good at cleaning and they’ll likely agree when I say: I suck. Cleaning is just not my thing. So, anything that makes chores easier is always worth the money IMHO.

With two DC under five years old in my home that are prone to spilling their drinks, bringing mud in from the garden, dropping their food on the floor and generally just being grubby - keeping my hard floors clean in our home is a daily battle. Add the dog’s paw prints into the mix and I dare say, there are plenty of stubborn marks that just won’t budge throughout my home.

Enter: the Dyson WashG1™ Wet Floor Cleaner (£599 at John Lewis), a premium solution that has been designed to revolutionise the way you care for your home’s floor.

Whether it’s tiles in the bathroom, laminate in the kitchen, or sealed wooden floors in the dining room - this wet floor cleaner from Dyson makes cleaning so easy. It removes dirt, spills and tough stains with little effort required on your part, leaving your floors spotless and gleaming.

Why choose the Dyson WashG1™?

In a busy household, we parents deserve a cleaner that can keep up with our lifestyle and remove stress. Like I said, anything that makes cleaning easier is a win-win for me. Unlike the squeeze mop I convinced myself I needed after seeing a viral TikTok video…

Instead, spend your money on a Dyson WashG1™, which stands out in the wet floor cleaning category thanks to its innovative design and unrivaled performance. In fact, it was awarded the Best Floor Cleaner for 2024 by Trusted Reviews.

It’s versatile and can be used on all hard floor types, including tiles, vinyl, laminate and sealed wood. You don’t need to switch tools, just move seamlessly from room to room, floor to floor.

It’s effortlessly powerful and tackles the toughest messes with ease, so you can spend less time scrubbing and more time actually enjoying your clean home before the kids come home. In fact - the cleaner actually separates wet and dry waste into separate containers as you go, ensuring hygienic disposal and helps you to avoid any dirt entirely!

And finally, it has unmatched quality and an elegant design thanks to its sleek matt black and blue finish - making this a premium addition to your home that easily blends in.

How to use the Dyson WashG1™

The Dyson WashG1™ removes both wet and dry dirt in one go using clean water from start to finish. Whether it’s a spill, debris, hair or a tough, dried-on stain on your hard floor - the cleaner has been engineered by Dyson to wash hard floors properly1

Step one: charge the wet floor cleaner

Before using, first make sure you charge it. It takes up to four hours to charge fully, which will give you cordless cleaning for 35 minutes2. There is a docking station and charger included, so you can easily store the cleaner neatly while it’s charging.

Step two: fill the water tank

Once charged, fill the 1L clean water tank. The Dyson WashG1™ will wash up to 290 square meters of hard flooring on just one tank of water, which is the equivalent size of a tennis court³!

Step three: pick your cleaning mode

There are three cleaning modes to choose from that let you set the hydration level you need: level 1, level 2, or level 3.

  • Level 1: is for debris, hair and light spills

  • Level 2: is for mealtime mess, spills and wet footprints (human or dog)

  • Level 3: for stickier spills, muddy boot marks and dried-on stains

You can also choose Max mode, which is particularly helpful when you have hard-to-remove stains like coffee, sauces and - if your bathroom is like mine - toothpaste!

Step four: use the self-clean function

Once you’ve completed your cleaning, empty the 0.8L dirty water tank and debris tray. Liquid waste can be poured away easily down your toilet or sink for hygienic, no-touch disposal. The debris tray is a quick-release compartment that again, doesn’t require you to touch anything as you dispose of the dry waste into your bin.

Thankfully, the good news is that you don’t need to manually clean the Dyson WashG1™ after every use. Instead, you can use the self-clean function. Although, Dyson does recommend cleaning the rollers, debris tray and clean and dirty water tanks manually after every three uses.

Step five: store the wet cleaner

Place the machine on the included dock after each clean - both for storage and for charging, so it’ll be ready to go next time you need it.

Upgrade your cleaning routine with the Dyson WashG1™

A new year brings the perfect opportunity to treat yourself - and your home - to something special. After all, clean spaces can help create a sense of calm and order, and with the Dyson WashG1™, keeping your floors pristine has never been easier.
