The stuff going on in France has been explicitly pinned on the ultra left by the French prime minister. The way the BBC report this compared to sky is interesting because sky are mentioning this as undisputed but the BBC and Katya Adler are portraying it as "politicians are saying it's the far left".
When it's a far right incident there is no couching of attribution. Why, it's almost like they cannot logically accept that the hard left, which in the UK would include such nice urbane characters as Michael Rosen, Mark Steele and the late Jeremy Hardy, all lovely middle class men, could find itself alongside black clad men who'd burn down a multimillion euro school named after Nelson Mandela and name check a Jihadist who murdered Jewish schoolchildren in France in 2012
