To absolutely hate this government, and what they are doing to our country? PART 2

A continuation of Thread 1.

Strong words but is is how I feel at this point in time. All of them make me feel physically sick. Why? Well many reasons.. Here are just two.

Eg. They won't release sex crime statistics of immigrants / asylum seekers. Why? Other European countries have done, and it is not pretty. Our gvt gives out a leaflet asking them not to rape the locals. Why? Our gvt has said they won't house asylum seekers next to schools and nurseries, why?

Eg. UK now spends more on benefits than it earns in income tax. Labour have increased this - not reduced it. Astonishing. As they say - "Who can we tax in order to pay benefits to others?" That's Labour's Welfare Secretary. He's describing the priorities of Labour MPs.

In the last financial year, the UK government brought in £331 billion in income tax — and spent even more, £333 billion, on welfare, according to the Office for Budget Responsibility's latest economic and fiscal outlook (obr.uk/efo/economic-and-fiscal-outlook-march-2026/#chapter-6).

I don't think it's an 'extreme' reaction to not want 1000 men on the edge of a village. I wouldn't put any 1000 men in the edge of a village - I don't care where they come from - and I think that was a stupid policy. They could put those 1000 men elsewhere, in so many places, and nobody would even notice.

EasternStandard · 25/09/2026 19:05

It’s filled within a week anyway. 1000 arrive and that’s that accommodation full.

shecanbe · 25/09/2026 19:27

I think there are peak times when they come - like now when the weather is good and the seas are calmer maybe. But as soon as winter approaches, the numbers will fall . I saw Labour have actually reduced the number of crossings, compared to the same time last year.

If Elon Musk and co put even 10% of the energy they put into whipping people into a frenzy about sex-crazed migrants (and this idea that Britain is falling under Sharia law or whatnot), into making the internet safer for children and banning online porn, then that would be something I could get behind. But no. Free porn for all
men - free speech and all that;, our children subject to all sorts of horrors and ideological / sexual grooming online; the likes of Andrew Tate and his morons poisoning boys minds; but oh ... look over there at the poor sods in leaking dingies. They are the threat to 'our women.'

EasternStandard · 25/09/2026 19:31

Obviously putting many in new areas which are Lib Dem and leafy attracts new issues. But people who are not in mc areas felt forgotten as they took more people before that.

So now they too are a no thanks. Which is problematic for Labour.

shecanbe · 25/09/2026 19:41

I think it's probably more of an urban / rural thing rather than whether a place is a LD or a whatever else constituency. I mean, probably don't put asylum seekers in Reform areas which are already volatile enough as it is. But don't put them on the edge of tiny villages with no shops or services either. It's common sense.

YANBU OP. Looks like 50% agree. I'm surprised it's not more. Given that only 24,927 people from the UK have voted for the current PM, with an electorate of about 47million people.. it's rather a shocking situation.

24,927 out of 47,000,000 people. Means that only approximately 0.04% of the UK people on the electoral register voted for the current PM.

Much as I don't want yet another PM, Burnham should seek to get his PMship (not sure the correct term) ratified by the electorate, via an election. That as they say is democracy. No one voted for this man, in real terms. I could ask 46.5 million people tomorrow (maybe it would take longer...) if they voted for him, not one could say yes.

I miss Sunak

I can see from your comment that you don't seem to understand how our democratic process works.

This may help. It's a very clear guide that should help you.

Yeah.. I was waiting for such a comment. Thanks for obliging. Doesn't change the fact that hardly anyone from the UK voted for the guy. I remember labour people going bonkers about Conservatives doing the same thing (well not Quite the same thing is it, I don't remember the Conservatives fudging / creating / imposing a local by-election in the same way Labour just did, to create a space for who they wanted as PM)..

Only 25,351 of 47,000,000 people voted for Boris Johnson in 2019.

No, they enobled Cameron so he could be Foreign Secretary instead - voted for by not a single person.

Indeed. But did BJ resign a mayoral position, and engineer a local by-election so that he could rise to the heights of PM within weeks?

ETA: Answer No.

Yeah well David M should have won that election if good ol ed hadn't stabbed his own brother in the back (with the help of the misguided misogynistic unions).

It is worth noting, that if Reform were to win the next GE, and Farage was made PM, that because of the way our system works, Farage will still only have about 25k votes, because only his constituency can vote for him.
